It’s almost not usable, it crashes so often. I love it in theory, but it is not reliable.

I have been using Book Movement for years so was excited to see there was an App! I like using it to keep track of my book club’s activities. Also the giveaways are amazing!
The movement in the text makes me seasick!
The app isn’t terrible, it isn’t great either. But the thing that’s really not working as when you tap on the questions. They look fine at first, but if you scroll down, they start waving around like they’re floating on the ocean. I would have thought updates would have addressed that by now.
Such Potential!
Love so many aspects of this app. I have lead my book club in using it for four years. Still so darn glitchy and inconsistent!
Love this app
This app is wonderful! It helps me manage our book club easily. I use it to schedule our meetings and it sends out invites and reminders and members can rsvp via the app. I also love having a record of all the books we have read.
Long overdue for an update
It seems like the app is long over due for an update. You can’t delete books off potential selections or club selection list. It’s also not letting me add any books to my personal bookshelf or queue. The app lags and you have to try to do the same action several times for it to maybe work.
A must have!
I really like this app for organizing and reaching out to my Bookclub friends. You can search for new books, streamline everyone’s finds and schedule Bookclub meetings all in one place! A must have if you are in a book club.
Bookclub name doesn’t support emojis!
The Bookclub name was just showing a bunch of question marks... such a basic feature
Has potential
This app has some great features, including the ability for each group member to be able to add their choice options for the next month’s book and the “like” button to allow the group to vote individually and anonymously. It is also convenient that when you set up the meeting time, you can opt for it to send your group members reminder emails, which is helpful considering everyone has other things going on. I really wish there was a way to allow for a moderator or someone to oversee/manage it though, as I am the one in my group who sets it up every month. It is annoying that I have to tell the people in my group to go back and delete last months picks, and other things like that. It is also very glitchy, which can be quite frustrating at times. If they would fix these things the app would be much better.
Best tool to organize book club!
I Donny know how we lived without this app! My book club has met every 6 weeks for the last 15 years and organizing book club meetings became much easier when we found this app! Automated email, keeping track of our past books and love the Discover feature to find new reads. Thank you for this tool!
Password errors
Trying to create a new account and won’t accept any passwords no matter how long or characters. This is really frustrating!

Edit member list
The biggest problem our book club has is we can’t edit the members in the book club. People come and go and we just keep adding on. The old members still are listed. Can they be fixed?
Very Helpful
This book club app has been very helpful in organizing our Bookclubs. I have three Bookclubs using it. It is so nice that it automatically generates emails announcing the next Bookclub date and choice of book and sends reminders. It has saved me a lot of time answering the same questions over and over, “what is our book next month? When is our next Bookclub? ” 🙄 What is even more invaluable in my opinion are the emails we get from Pauline with giveaways, new book suggestions and opportunities to zoom with authors! This is the best feature!! I also love the reading guides, the suggestions for Bookclub questions and sometimes even menus and drink ideas! Plus, Pauline, the founder, is always available to email and is very responsive.
It Really wish it was compatible for both android. A book club where everyone uses iOS only is rare

A must for book clubs
This is a great app. It is the one I trust for my book club and helps us find books, and not lose our info. Before we joined we had to email dates and books, and often got confused or forgetful. It helps us store possible choices, and reminds us of the meeting a day and a week before they occur.
Has potential- but can be frustrating
I want to love this app! I love that it lets us add our books up front (one of my groups pick all our books at the start of our year; and the other group picks just a few months at a time). I love that we can scroll back to see our previous reads I love that it sends reminders to start the book a week before the meeting. I love that we can add books our group has discussed but don’t want to pick as an official read just yet. I wish that i could have a place to add my own questions or talking points for the books as I am reading. I know there’s a tab for “questions” but rarely are there any questions there; nor does it let me enter my own. I wish there was a spot for a running group chat. Some book group conversations aren’t book specific. And I find it very frustrating that the app itself doesn’t have a “delete” meeting option. And it is definitely most annoying that it keeps pulling a very incorrect book cover (I wonder if it’s a trick to promote some new books). I have replaced this cover multiple times and it immediately reverts to the wrong book. The title of the book at the top of the page is correct- but definite wrong cover. The website actually shows the correct book cover. But not the app. So I know they have the correct cover in their database. So much potential for this app to be amazing. But a few very frustrating glitches and a lack of some basic logical functions. 🫤

Club Selection issues
We are always struggling with the “possible selections” section. The books won’t load! For days! We meet monthly and have this issue consistently - please fix it!
Great App!
Our book club uses this app. If everyone in the club would download it, our book club leader would get our RSVPs in one location. I like being able to see our book club meeting dates in one place, rather than scrolling through emails. It’s easy for our book club leader to update meeting info. Our book club won a book & several family members & I read the book at the beach last year.
Needs Update/Fixes
I like the way it visually shows books. But it needs to be easier to REMOVE books; poll members. Customize- the Explore with adjectives is useless and junks up the site. It’s been awhile since App improved, has it been abandoned? It has lots of potential
Responsive
Although this app has experienced glitches in the past, the owner is responsive to correcting them and to meeting the needs shared by its users. The app allows me to quickly manage the several book clubs I participate in quickly and easily. What would make it even better is it allowing quicker messaging to members via the app or via text as opposed to email. 👌🏻
Apple Users Only
I heard amazing things about this app so I downloaded it and got started organizing my book club...it was awesome!! Until we realized it is not for android users. Apple only. Bah! We have 4 members with android and can’t use this. They would need to use the website and log in. Lame.
Great App
So helpful to keep track of wayward book club members. You know they get the info even if they don’t reply. Love the reminders and the layout. Glad we found this last year.
Potentially helpful
This app is an opportunity for sure. I love the theory and it sure beats trying to work through a FB group - usually. It is a bit buggy and visually needs a cleanup. For my book club friends to use it, they’ll want something sure fire and very simple. But this may be the only book club app out there?
Great book club tool
Book Movement keeps our book club organized with streamlined communication, meeting calendar, RSVP function, and full year view of our picks and hosts. I like seeing what other clubs are reading as well.
Glitch much
I thought my service and internet were just poor when I used it at first. However I have zoomed realized that it is poor app design. It glitches out anytime you do anything. Books I’ve added for future possibilities are suddenly gone next time I come back into the app. Things don’t save. I can’t even upload a simple profile picture. Could we get any of these things fixed??
Amazing
This is a wonderful app. I’m always impressed at how obscure the books are that we pick, and it’s always there. We’re never able to stump them. And there is no easier way to organize our group. So user friendly. Highly recommended
Believe it or not, I have non iPhone using friends.
Couldn’t use this app for my book club as some members do not have iPhones. It appears this app is not available cross platform. Disappointing. 3 stars for iOS only, especially for an app used within a group setting so it divides us and excludes friends based on phone choices. Even if everyone in my book club had iPhones, I wouldn’t go with this app because I’d be stuck with having to keep the club an iPhone only book club. Or with trying to figure out a work around if someone switched or someone new joined. It would have been two stars, but this looks like a well designed app. I really wanted to try this app for my club hence my disappointment in it only being available on iPhone. I’d say I hope it expands but by then I’ll have decided on a different app and if I spent time getting everyone all set up, I’m unlikely to go through changing it.
Awesome for Book club
My Book Club has been using the book movement app for about five years. It’s a great way to let everybody know what the book is and where we will be meeting. People are able to easily RSVP to the host. It’s been great for creating a list that everybody can see and that people can add potential books. Members can also rank the books and also read about them.
Couldn’t even create an account
I simply tried creating an account and kept receiving an “invalid password” notification each time I tried to register. Unfortunately, I have no clue why the 6 different passwords I tried did not work. I sadly had to abort the mission and delete the app. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to using this for a new book club :(
Great way to keep the book cub organized
Love this app! Easy to use. Wish that if you add a book and change your mind in terms of possible selections that you could then delete that option. Would be good if suggestions were based on genres chosen versus everyone (all who use app) get same recommendations Highly recommend
Great idea, lacks execution
So far I see a lot of potential with this app, but there are some bugs I experience that kind of ruin the app. For instance when I try to save possible club selections I often have to add the same book several times before it shows up and stays there.

I love it. Some kinks now and then but you can’t beat it for organizing your book club!

Does not even start. Crashes.
Simple and helpful
Our club votes periodically on a set of books to read over the coming year or so, and our organizer is great about entering the schedule in BookMovement. That makes it simple to see what’s coming up in the next few meetings, or go back to remind myself when we read a certain book. I mostly use the My Clubs section, but occasionally go look at suggested books. Too bad I don’t have time to read them all.
Can’t find any books
I love the idea of a book club app but whenever I search for a book (also very popular books), I get no results. That makes the whole app completely unusable 😔.
