Not Working Properly
After I updated my phone to IOS 17.7 the app isnt functioning properly and the message stops when the screen goes dark
Ulterior Motives
This app seemed ok but I am deleting after their recent update. There are so many legitimate news networks to integrate with and Funnel only integrates with a few. That’s fine but their recent update added a new network — Salem Radio Network. This is not ok. SRN is a “conservative Christian” network that spouts and promotes hateful public policies against marginalized groups including LGBTQ+ individuals. Of all the networks the developer could have integrated with, this is what they chose and that is telling in itself. I will be deleting this app and finding another that’s not invested in amplifying hateful rhetoric.

I use this app everyday, I love it. But it obviously needs to an update, several of the news channels aren’t available or working.
It was better once
When CBC stopped working it was bad enough, but now BBC is gone so I’ve stopped using it.
Is this app still supported?
For months the CBC hourly report doesnt work. The support site isnt accessible. Anyone out there? Loved this app

Great at what it does.
Great at what it does. It is not a storage Hogg like so many apps that burn space. It works well and does what it says. Would give 5 stars if it had more news sources. But perhaps that’s the point of it. Simple efficiency.
Is this app still supported?
CBC hasn’t worked for over a year. Recently BBC stopped working. Support is inaccessible.
Missing two essential features.
I’d happily pay double the asking price if I could skip back and forth like every other audio player and add my own feeds. SO close to having a dominating app!!!

This APP used to be superior news podcast. But since ios17 the BBC news no longer works or connect. All the other eight news pod casts works properly. Please fix the issue with BBC news cast. Thanks.
BBC News is broken - please fix
I've been using this for years in conjunction with Siri to listen to BBC headlines, but while other sources still work, selecting BBC has done nothing for the last few weeks. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app to no avail, so I assume it's a specific problem with a broken link to BBC news. Please fix! Thanks in advance.
Amazing but had bugs even with PRO purchase
This is the one app I use DAILY. I started to notice bugs with it and figured if I upgraded to the pro purchase that might resolve them but it still continues. I would like to cancel the purchase as it’s not helping.

This is a very handy app, I just wish the authors would make two changes. 1. Make it rotate for use on an iPad. 2. Put the PLAY button on the right and make it larger than the Add to Siri button.

10/27/2020THIRD REVIEW IN LESS THAN A MONTH FIX THIS APP PLEASE. IT NOW CRASHES WHILE PLAYING WITH THE SCREEN ON AND ***STILL*** TURNS OFF WHEN I TURN MY SCREEN OFF. I’ve had this app multiple years and have been VERY happy. Whatever ‘update’ happened during the last couple week screwed up my PAID app features. I’ve been struggling with this featureless app for weeks now. This happened another time a couple years back and it was resolved. FIX THIS ASAP OR IM MOVING ON. NOT TO MENTION the fact that the “App support” option only takes me to PAID ADVERTISING SITES!!! 😡 *UPDATE* ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I would love to give you five stars when I can turn off my phone screen and still listen to the news LIKE IT ALWAYS DID BEFORE.

Simple, focused, useful.
UPDATE: very good app keeps getting a little more polished each time. A few nitpicks and wants: - The new icon looks similar to YouTube, and is very Googl-ey, and I wish it were neither of those. - Siri can play one feed, but I’d also like the ability to have Siri just play all feeds through, if I’ve purchased the upgrade and turned on “Auto Play.” (It’d be another nice little carrot to purchase Pro, too.) But really: those are so minor. It’s a great app. --------------- Great app. It's good to still see apps that do one thing and do it incredibly well. No advertising, drive for my data, urging to join a social network... well worth the in-app purchase for the auto-play (which I bought), but even more to encourage this kind of development. I'd like to see more customization; possibly be able to re-organize sources if we've purchased auto-play. Also some "get info" on each source (if I'm not familiar with the three letter abbreviation, or reputation of an organization), and inclusion of more reputable international sources (that is, outside the USA bubble). I love the sound design used here, but gorgeous as it is, when I hit Pause it's usually because I need to hear something else, so playing a longer sound there (as opposed to a super short tic or nothing at all) is actually unwelcome each time. I hate to say that, because the design seems so thoughtful, but it directly conflicts with functionality for me, so... maybe something tiny? Oh, and iPad support? Please? My iPad Mini has a much bigger battery than my phone, so I'm more apt to set it down and use it to play audio sources vs my phone. But these are nitpicks; this is a really wonderful app.
Want to use it daily - but 2 missing features made me delete it
Still no fix for these missing vital features. Almost all my audio entertainment and information is via podcasts and/or streams. I actually keep 3 podcast apps on my iPhone because each has features I want/need. I would enjoy having an app like Funnel. With the pro version features it would literally be a one-tap source for news. But 2 major features that most podcast apps have are missing: 1) Registering it with the system as a spoken-word audio app. Because it is not recognized as such, if I am using a Navigation app the voice directions speak on top of the news playback. Subsequently I can’t hear several seconds of the news I’m listening to which usually leads to missing information relevant to the story. 2) Ability for short skips backward and forward in playback. You know this feature: you missed something and you want to go back a few seconds to hear it again. Or maybe you want to skip some audio to get to something else. Even more disappointing is that it doesn’t have these commands available via Bluetooth like most all other major non-Apple podcast apps do. I’ll be monitoring Funnel’s updates in case they add these must have features. When they do, I’ll pay for the pro version. In the meantime I’m glad I got the basic version when it was free.
I use it but not perfect
Mar 2021: BBC section is broken and the g2apps.xyz website is down. There should be a bug report section in the app Original: It's great, I have premium version so it goes from one news source to the next Problems: -No skip back 10 seconds YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and Spotify Podcasts all have this feature. Let me skip back pls -Only 8 News Sources This is fine for me but I feel the app should be more transparent about this on the app store page. There's no way to add a custom news source either. -Sometimes Buggy --When I open the app, news starts, but isn't registered as starting by the app, so I can't pause without losing my place. I have to tap the first news source when I open the app to prevent this --The source selection interface is jiggly to be fun but the jiggles can get out of hand and have even crashed my app on occasion. Luckily once I had the sources in a good order I didn't have to deal with this anymore. Oct2020 Edit: As of iOS 14.0.1 it crashes when the screen turns off and when I leave the app
Local NEWS agencies suggestion
Very useful app for catching up what's going on in the world just in a couple of minutes. It would be wonderful if you could add some other news channels like local News agencies. At the end please volume up VOA part :-D Thanks

Really good for catching the American fake media in the act
I like this app. I used to listen to individual news bulletins on individual streams. But with this app I get news from around the world all in one place. Very convenient. But also very useful in helping notice the American media lying about or misrepresenting reality. Maybe if the app also featured news from South Africa, Australia, and an English-speaking Asian market that would be good too.
Lacking
The sever is so slow it will seem all your pro purchases are not loaded. Grossly flawed. Stream almost never auto load or auto play.

Crashes when screen goes to sleep, dev not active?
Used to be my go-to news feed for the morning commute, even paid for the pro upgrade. App started to crash when phone display goes to sleep in iOS12. App hasn’t been updated for 9 months, other apps by G2 LLC haven’t been updated for years. Abandonware. Use Apple podcasts with stations instead. Does the same thing but works with Siri and HomePod.

Something Went Wrong- but read below update
I would not recommend any friends or family to use this app. I paid to initialize the 'extra' features when I first downloaded WAY back when first released, mostly wanting the AUTO START. I say "HEY SIRI... LAUNCH FUNNEL", Funnel launches, and the thing starts playing. First the auto thing SOMETIMES did not work, so I would just manually touch to play. But NOW the 'BBC' doesn't want to work without manual start, especially if the device is 'off'; you know, like when the button is pushed to turn screen off! If I disable 'BBC' the others auto-start. I WANT MY MOINEY BACK... but I purchased a long while back. UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE I deleted and re-downloaded/re-installed and it SORT of put things back to 'normal'. But soon after auto-start mostly not working AGAIN!!! And as before, still JUST the 'BBC' not auto-starting. Oh, by-the-way, to enable the 3 extra features (Auto-Play, Auto -Start & Auto-Reminder) now cost you OVER THIRTY BUCKS!!! I can't recall what I initially paid way back, but usually I RARELY will pay THAT fracking much😨. I feel if we could 'shuffle' the placement of stations, placing the 'BBC' away from the #1 position, all might be okay, as again, it only seems to be the 'BBC' doesn't want to do the 'auto' thing. I wish we could ADD more news podcast stations. If the included are all enabled (you can toggle each of the 8 on or off to play), you end up hearing the same news over & over, and really... there is very little difference, just the speaker. You would think that you could experience a WIDE variety of SLANTS regarding how the different regions might react, but not-so-much of that happens now-a-days. Everyone has to be POLITICALLY CORRECT, so news feeds are pretty much 'vanilla'. I don't understand why they decided to break the "WSJ" into two separate channels. They should just be ONE. I really wish there was the go back 5 or 10 seconds button, or skip ahead, but you CAN 'grab' the movement button and slide it either way. Just keep your eyeball on the counter time and you should be able to get where you want along the time line. If you decide to get this app, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not to pay for the 'AUTO' features!
Skips randomly; needs volume equalization; can affect other radio apps’ behavior
I upgraded to final and enjoyed it a great deal the first few months. However it has started skipping between channels randomly and without obvious reason. There is also a huge volume discrepancy between the BBC and the CNBC. At maximum volume the BBC is hard to hear and then when CNBC comes in the volume is deafening. Other radio applications seem to be affected by Funnel because listening to the same programs there resulted in a skip two stations that I listen to only on Funnel and not on those stations. Most curious behavior.

I like the simplicity of the interface and the news feeds update hourly. The premium cost is outrageous at $24.99. That’s just too much for what is basically a software routine that auto plays the free podcast news feeds. I’d pay $5.00 in a heart beat to have the auto play function work.

You pay for the app to support it. Then they try to charge you an additional $9 to automatically play the news when the app opens. There is no price warning of $9 charge to unlock “pro” feature until after u pay
