On duty off duty problem
It automatically kicks me onto Off duty. This last time I went on vacation for a whole week didn’t check it until I came back to work kicked me into on duty on Friday. I went off duty when I got out of work and then I checked on Tuesday when I was on vacation didn’t show that I was off duty checked this Monday and it says I was on duty since Friday of last week now I don’t have any drive time and it’s not making me look good at work
Makes keeping logs simple
I have found Geotab pretty simple to use. I love the way it automatically takes me out of driving when I stop and back in driving status once I start moving again. 2 hour violation warning reminder is handy. My only complaint is the safety reporting must be set to say speeding is anything over the speed limit, so going 58 in a 55 or 68 in a 65 shows me speeding all the time. I try to stay with traffic flow to avoid every vehicle on the road going around me as lane changes are accident opportunities.

Not MVP (Minimum Viable Product)
It has some good ideas, but it doesn’t switch duty status when it is supposed to. Also, it treats all inspected faults as deadlines. You really need someone with both a CDL and a coding background to go through the work flow. You also need to audit the app better for USDOT compliance.

Battery Killer
The app works better than it used to but it now eats your phone battery like it’s all you can eat pizza, nor can you walk and edit your log because it thinks you’re driving, nor can you be a passenger in another vehicle because it thinks you are driving… needs improvement on the battery front 41% battery running background for 4 hrs
Was too slow, but has improved
Takes forever to synchronize logs, save inspections, sometimes as long as 10 minutes. Tech support only suggests “clearing cache” before starting the app. I have over 100 apps on my IPhone 15ProMax with latest iOS18, use at least 35 daily and GeoTab is THE ONLY app on my phone with these performance and stability issues. Crashes / aborts frequently. Generally poor app they desperately needs a complete rewrite/recode. UPDATE 29JAN26: There have been improvements made recently that make this app run much better than before. I’ll be the first to admit when I’m wrong about something, and I’m glad the big issues with synchronization and uploading/updating logs and inspections have been addressed. Slightly concerned by the requirement to delete the app completely and then reinstall from scratch - something that PC and Windows users know all too well - for the improvements to appear, though. Nonetheless, the app runs very well now, with the one exception of it categorizing and logging any time logged under an exemption as “personal conveyance” which I’m fairly sure is incorrect and could lead to confusion and maybe fines for the user/driver during an inspection by a particularly strict officer. Unfortunately we can’t give 1/2 star rating here as my current rating would be 3 1/2 stars, so I can only upgrade my original 2-stars rating to a 3.

The app itself is not terrible fairly user-friendly however, I would never in my life get the system installed into a vehicle. It is a piece of garbage tells you that you have done things that you have not done such as speeding, harsh, cornering harsh acceleration. You’re an idiot if you get this program or equipment installed into any of your vehicle vehicles

Motion sensors should only be for the cv
When I leave the truck and get in my own car, the motion sensors SHOULD NOT BE violating me! Whenever a new update is ready, it is difficult to find the activation, then NO INDICATION is given that it even happened!
Lag
Im not a professional driver but i do drive a truck that is net over 5500kg for my job. Im forced to use this app by my company. It would be a decent app but the lag is unbelievable. I spend an insane amount of time waiting to verify my logs while i could be doing my actual job.
Really good application
We have 10 drivers using it for more that a year now and it’s perfect :-)
Asset inspection
Asset inspection button is straight up missing from my app. Other people have it. I cant do my job.
Needs a whole update
App is horrible buffers and laggs so much its not even funny. Update this app please its horrible or fix the buggs it has. Laggs for every single little thing especially when certifying something.
Waste of time
Even after logging out it keeps me logged in so when I arrive to work the next day I’m in violation. Terribly formatted app and not user friendly. I’ve gone back to my old log book.
Logbook Electronique qui fonctionne très bien !
Simple et efficace on choisi notre camion, la remorque et on fait notre inspection ensuite on touche plus à ça de la journée! Fini la paperasse à chaque drop ! Pas besoin d’appeler au bureau pour leur dire à quelle heure j’arrive pour le prochain chargement ils me voient en temps réel !
Worst Tracking ever
It can’t even give you an exact town that you’re in. Back in the day when I did paper logs I knew what every town I was in when I went down to line 4. This app says your 11 miles NEN of said major town or 1 mile of another town. There is no accuracy here whatsoever. Oh and another thing the app says you are speeding when you’re not. The speed limit on road would say 55 mph but under their app it say 35 mph. So many discrepancies that it’s ridiculous.

Needs help
The pre post trip inspection on both apple and android kicks you out sometimes when your doing the inspection. Also it would be helpful if when you start your inspection a pop up screen can lock the screen and count a timer so we can see how long it has been.
It’s ok but…
The App cannot be deleted from an IPhone once it’s installed. It looks uninstalled but it’s sucking your data sitting in your system & hidden data.

Please fix the issue when selecting an asset from the dashboard the screen will come back blank sometimes and it takes 4-5 tries to get it to populate
Not intuitive, drains battery
The app is not intuitive and swapping vehicles is just confusing. The app used upwards of 68% battery life so it kills my battery everyday.
Bad! Horrible! Trash!
Terrible app! Needs better features and better connection capabilities. It disconnects frequently causing ELD discrepancies! GPS connectivity sucks also! HORRIBLE DONT RECOMMEND IT.

Ok so after review after a.bout a year, there’s some issues I would like resolved. 1) the on duty / off duty status is very hard to use because of the zoom functionality of it! You have to zoom in to add annotations to logs. 2) the battery consumption is still better than most, but it does consume a quite a bit of battery power if always running in background 3) the end day / off duty should be in the same button where you can do a pretrip at that time when you go to off duty not as soon as you press off duty a quick option pops up to end your day and then go through your steps that should be extended or have the ability to go right through pretrip and then have the option to stay signed into truck or not. As I work for a company we’re constantly switching trucks. 4) VERY INPORTANT NOTE: if you drive during your shift it is all logged with the trucks transponder… but let’s say you shut that truck off and then park it for a bit, and someone happens to move it (shunt the truck around the yard or whatever as long as that truck is on its recording it to the transponder) but then if that driver comes back into that truck and drives the remainder of the shift. And doesn’t pick up those added logs .. it is stored in the memory bank on the truck. .. but when you go on days off and someone else logs in that truck they have the ability to claim the miscellaneous logs but you have to scroll for a long time sometimes to skip or accept these logs as there’s only a button on the bottom to skip. I would like to see this changed and or the logs time out after a period of time ie) 3 days as only the administrator can delete these logs and there’s too many trucks for them to worry about when it comes to this. I will continue to monitor as I am the trainer for the apps we use, and a more simplified USER FRIENDLY interface would absolutely come in handy when working with this industry, as not everyone is tech savvy, and it would go along way and I’m sure being up your app rating.

App uses too much battery in background. I don't give the app any user permissions yet it still uses a lot of background battery and stays open even when closed out draining 20-30% of my daily battery while off duty
