Unique log
Using from the beginning. Very easy to use, customer care and technical assistances are very helpful. Thanks Motive.
Does not support multi-connection Bluetooth.
The Motive ELD program does not support Bluetooth multi-connection. When the ELD device is connected to an IOS device, the ELD connection will constantly cause the other connected devices to disconnect and reconnect on a loop. Even when the ELD is “forgotten” from the connected device list, the ELD will still try and brute force connect to the iOS device, disrupting all other Bluetooth connections. Tech team is aware of the situation but don’t care to rectify the problem.
Works pretty good
This app is easy to use, however I have to email my logs to company and i don’t believe there is a way to see what logs I have sent or haven’t sent and would be nice to be able to tell if I have sent these or not

Canadian split sleeperberth
June 2026, after all the reviews and complaints over the years, Canadian split sleeperberth is still not working/available. C’mon guys, it’s not rocket science, just get at it and make it happen !!

V Easy to operate and not complicated
Battery hungry
Garbage app. Even with Background App Refresh turned off, if you don’t force close the app, it drains your phone’s battery. I’ve had my battery drop from 70% to 30% overnight just because the app was left open. It also doesn’t properly support Canadian sleeper berth rules. It incorrectly shows drivers as being in violation when they are fully compliant. That’s a major issue for anyone operating under Canadian Hours of Service regulations.

Please add sleeper berth split clocks for Canadian cycle. Your app shows violations for no reason. Whenever i try and call you guys you always say our engineers are working on it from last 3 yrs.

I see lots of complaints about this, why haven’t you added it yet for the Canadians? Don’t drop your copy and paste text I see with every issue….. just update and add the feature or make a whole separate Canadian version…… peace out TT
Still bugs
Asking me to reconnect mid trip ,every trip. Locking Motive “ in motion “ when I’m trying to pre trip an asset or trying to close out the app to finish my day .
As if it’s a soul contract
I used Motive for a few years and loved it, I had a super great representative always calling and checking in on what I needed. Then unfortunate circumstances had arrived with out 1 truck company and we went out of business shortly after renewing a 1 year subscription. They will hound you every week day like a blood thirsty vampire for payment. Most professional companies will simply say sorry to hear your situation and end the contract, they refuse to understand anything other than $$$. Up until our loss of everything and the company they would have been 5 Star review Reply to response. Obviously the response wasn’t well understood, I enjoyed Motive until the lack of understanding that a client that no longer uses or has funding for subscription can’t pay so emailing and calling with hanging up upon answering is rather over the top for a simple subscription that could be cancelled. So greedy it’s unfortunate to have moral business conduct is such a way.
Good but needs issues resolved and Canadian hos is poor
Great app user friendly but the Canadian hours of service would be better if it displayed the 13 hour drive clock 14 hour shift clock 16 hour day clock and the weekly clock Issue I have been having is random disconnects from the app to the truck.
Wasn’t bad
Wasn’t a bad app in the beginning. But then they keep updating it and making it more cumbersome with every update. Also mark you regularly for speeding when you are at the posted speed. Even says it’s an unsafe stop when I’m at a brake check. Maybe should stop these functions til they figure out how to get it right.

This app really needs an update. It doesn’t properly connect sometimes and it’s very frustrating.

Good app but missing a feature
App is great, clean but missing a feature to use location of your phone to automatically log your drive time. That would make it a 10/10 app.
Loss of data
We have motive for our ELD. Since the last update all our fleet data is lost in the app. All our trucks need to me entered manually every day.
Operational Concerns
Motive ELD split sleeper function is still not working in regards to Canadian rules, the hours recap on the graph/grid is still not in hours and minutes (the minutes are shown as a decimal fraction for some unfathomable reason) and the “inspection recap” on the graph/grid page doesn’t show unit licence plate number or state/province although this is required by the MTO.
Dark mode
Add dark mode into the app to make it more better.
New update sucks
Now it wont let you wait the on duty time !!! Need to Watch it all the time. Once you forgot to switch it between on and off duty then no chance to edit!!!!! Geotab is 1000% better. Besides lots of problems.
Needs some extras
I drive part time between 2 company’s would love to have an option for company a or company b. Also would love to have it work with Apple Watch to change my work status from the watch

Junk
Never stays connected, always jams up, can’t even log out without internet. So fn annoying having to wait 1 hour to have the trips pop up at the end of the day to claim them. Fix your fn app. Your fukn our lives up
Works fine
Since the most recent update; Notification badges constantly appear both in app and on the app icon itself, but there are no notifications (new, old or otherwise). Would love to have this fixed. Just me, or or a bug?

If you want stupid problems and not getting straight answers from IT Support, then use it… just a horrible experience
Awesome but need a few extras
Please add a spot for gas so we can go completely paperless and organized and I love the feature of it carrying over your miles from your end shift to you next shift but can that all be for the inspection part too?
Like the app but needs work
Instead of me having to write out the name of the equipment I use in the inspection areas can’t it be saved under the search bar, and maybe even go as far as saving the truck and asset information. Also I’m sick of auto correct on my license plate numbers… what are you trying to correct?

They put you on a contract, any dispute they will refer to the contract and screw you. Not a good company, go to any other one for an eld, this company is gangsters
Good e-log
It’s a pretty decent e-log, it could be more streamlined especially when having to edit. Having a quick way to mark fuel up, break, brake check etc would be nice. Also dark mode for when driving at night would be a huge plus.

Split cycle Canada
The clock doesn’t shows split cycle in Canada. Every time have to calculate manually.
Still not compliant
In Canada, trip inspection MUST include vehicle licence WITH jurisdiction, yet Motive still doesn’t have it. We also require jurisdiction with plate when listing equipment in the daily log. Also, besides pre and post trip inspection, there should be an option for on going monitoring, as in on-route inspection. If I find a defect in the middle of my day, and report as required, I can only select pre or post? That isn’t truthful now, is it.

Always stuck when in use
This application was running very good but last month I updated it after that always it stuck when save pre/post inspection reports and create so many problems . Totally wastes of time. thank god finally my company decided to change this log book for drivers.
