Passport Photo - ID Photo reviews
4.5 out of 5, based on 44,352 reviews.
What people like
- Actually free to use basic features
- Easy background change saves trips to shops
- Photos accepted by passport offices successfully
What they complain about
- Ads are aggressive and block the screen
- Hidden fees for color and ad removal
- Printer compatibility issues with photo paper sizes
- Interface is confusing without clear instructions
Perfect
The app was just what I needed to take my wife's and my passport photos. I couldn't find a spot with a good background so the change background feature was exactly what I needed. Submitted the applications online and had the passports in 10 days.
Need to Finish Candy Crush
You have to finish playing Candy Crush to download the photo.
Quick and simple!
This app helped me edit the background of a selfie for my passport photo submission. My only issue was that I had to play around with the interface for a few minutes to figure out what each tool icon did, so adding descriptive text under each icon would help make the editing process more straightforward. Overall though, a great app that generates a free digital ID photo.
Watch out for the ad box - it may show a scam site
If you download from the App Store on iPhone, a box appears at the top of the screen - it is apparently for advertising - it asks you to create an account. Not realizing it was an ad box I did - bad choice. I’m told this is unrelated to passport Photo, but beware. The same site still pops up in the box. The app then wants full access to your entire photo directory. Sorry no thanks. I can’t tell you whether this works or not - just not worth the risk.
OK
This is fine
It’s Actually Free
The best part about this app is that it’s actually free. No BS. Of course there’s ads but thank goodness, because the App Stores are plagued with every app requiring subscriptions to use.
Laden with ads
Laden with ads to the point that it’s unusable
Should have adjustable Beauty effects
One major feature missing is the addition of beauty effects.
incorrect format - India passport photo
The app doesn’t reflect the latest photograph measurements ( 35*45mm ) for the Indian passport. It would be greatly appreciated if you could update the app with the specifications.
Not free
I specifically looked for free apps for passport photo. This one was listed as a free app. Sure it was but in order to get a valid passport photo which means it has to be in color and also has to have a white background, you have to fork over about the same amount of money that you would pay by going into a local store and having them make your photo. Just don’t appreciate the false advertising.
Mr O
On my opinion the best passport app which i been using for years for all the family always go back and use.
Rip off
After I paid $10 it still put ads over the app that could not be refused or removed. The only option was to go away from the app toRip off the offer.
Ottima
App works but annoying ads
Difficulty with removing ads. Starts with sounds. Sometimes inappropriate images.
Too many ads
I know it’s a one time fee but it’s a lot of ads and they don’t give option to close a lot of the time so you have to close off app and reopen
Passport photo
Very good get 1 for free to try out.
Bad User Interface
Very useless app. I literally wasted my money
Ottima app
Perfetto grazie
Degraded Features
I purchased the full pack, at the time it worked perfectly, I tried today after about a year, the ads are back with another pay option to get rid of ads, it is not syncing with my HP printer as well. Overall user experience has degraded significantly. I ended up using my laptop to print pictures I needed
Best app
DIY ID photo saves time and money, best quality photos for various size.
SCAM!!!
Does NOT turn background white for free
Price is too expensive
It’s too expensive to buy a basic app like this. User won’t buy these unlock future in app. Please lower the price
Unusable on the free version
The free version pushes ads very aggressively that take up the whole screen with no exit button and requires restarting the app. Haven’t been able to use it decent enough to decide whether it’s worth it
Good
We need personal custom size
Works well
I had to use this as was self isolating with my family. For UK passport you need to choose 3.5 x 4.5 and trust the line up measurements in the screen. It needs to be on a white background in good light with no shadows. I paid the £6.99 and printed them at home, leaving the removal of adverts costs as they didn’t bother me. I had to print twice on two separate pieces of photographic paper but they came out well and have been accepted today on fast track appointment. Very pleased.
Passport photo
This loaded and asked for credit card information. Then you can’t get in. What happens is a scam app called allmediaconent.com spoofs your card information. You find out when passport photo is still asking for card information. Allmedia starts up a monthly card charge. Had to kill my card to stop this.
Good App
It did the job. But when I lined the subject up within the guides I was intimidatingly close and also the requirements I was given by the subject allowed for slightly more shoulders. So I ignored the guides, stepped back and took the shot. We’ll see if they pass muster in due course. Saves an awful lot of time titting about in booths, or queuing up at where ever
Absolute Con Avoid like the plague!!!!!!
Con!!! All they want is to reel you in and sting you for the cost of the app. Go to a photo booth!
Used to work fine
Recently doesn’t print 4 on 1 passport pictures on Canon Selphy 1200 or 1300 anymore. One photo per page is working but not 4 on 1. Wasted two cartridges as I thought it was my printers. The dev needs to look into this.
Excellent App and Super-fast Service
Due to current COVID-19 lockdown majority of the shops are closed in the area, as we were in need of passport photographs we decided to give this app a try. The app is very easy to use with very good interface. The app has option to print the photographs yourself or email or save electronically and there is also an option for international photograph size. We ordered the Photographs on a Sunday afternoon and arrived on Tuesday morning via Royal Mail. We are very satisfied with the super-fast service and found them to be cheapest compared to other apps or high street shops. We have recommended this app to our family and friends already.
Scam
Just ads, not helpful
Va bene
Alla fine sei vuoi togliere la pubblicità e le foto a colori sono 6€
Not upfront about charges
£1.99 for ad free. Then after using app its £3.99 for colour templates 😐It doesn’t appear to send as an attachment in email. Lots of pffafing about.
Helpful
Helped to scale a family members passport photo after we tried for so long 😂
Really good app.
I very rarely write reviews for iPhone or iPad apps but I think this one is a hit. The US Government provide a website where you can make US passport size photos. Does the UK Government, absolutely not, that would be too simple. There are however many sites that charge on average £4.50 to process a UK passport size photo. I found this app out of complete desperation during the lockdown as I needed a digital passport size photo urgently and I am so glad I purchased it. Highly recommended to anyone, easy to use and well worth the moderate cost.. I’m not a bot or a paid reviewer either 😀.
Worthless
I tried this because I needed a better quality image than what I had but it didn’t make anything usable
Effettuato foto tessera
Ottimo programma molto affidabile
A4 only
I have a brother printer which has a manual feed slot for photo paper, if I put a 6 x 4 sheet in it won’t print it the program spits it out saying wrong size paper it will only print on A4 so a lot of waste. The only fix is to save format to my library and then use the brother software to print onto 6x4 paper.
Good app but invasive ads...
Good app but invasive pop-up ads make unusable - forcing you back to repeat an action, then popping up again so you have to repeat an action. Each time asking “do you want to see the ads” 😤 I needed the photo so felt forced to upgrade to “ad free”...
Did the job
Just used the app to renew my sons passport. Got the passport back today with no problems uploading the photo. Just saved me £10 as I didn’t have to go and get a digital photo. All in all easy to use and worked first time.
Doesn’t work unless you pay
The free version is hyper annoying, but worse than that, it doesn’t even get you a passport photo. At least not in any way I could figure out. Save the headache and don’t download this.
Passport Photo App
This is a great photo app for Passport, I.D photographs, etc. I would recommend it.
Why?!!! - read before you buy
Got this app knowing you had to pay to stop adds - couple of quid so fine. Didn’t realise I’d then have to pay £4 to be able to print photos in colour. Great app & easy to use - would of happily paid £4 to buy. Apple should stop this nonsense & make app providers be honest on pricing - wouldn’t get away with this con in a bricks & mortar Retail environment.
Abzocke !
Für alle Funktionen muss man zahlen
Quickly get your passport photos
Simple and easy. Snap your kids on the phone. Produce passport photos.
Ridiculous payment steps. $$$ for color photos then more $$$$ for ad removal. Just make it one price
Ridiculous payment steps. $$$ for color photos then more $$$$ for ad removal. Just make it one price so it’s not a complete rip off. Then if I want to combine 4 photos to one page for printing family passport photos it cannot do it. Wife used the free ID Passport app and it worked better even with long ads.
Tricky
Now I thought I purchased ad-free, paid £1.99, got in to edit it, it came black and white, had to paid £2.99 again for color photo... seller is manipulated!
Schade
Möchte man keine Werbung, so zahlt man wohl nicht für eine werbefreie App, sondern nur für eine „Werbung entfernen“ Funktion bzw. App. Der Hammer: nach einer Neuinstallation hat man wieder eine App voller Werbung.
