Current version is of limited use for IFR training
Current version of this APP has some good features- which are useful for seeing how VORs work when flying around. However the function to give details of entry procedures for IFR flight training is of limited use. The content of the training is correct for learning entry procedures. But the test section is very confusing and frankly wrong. The "Quick finder" will come up with different information from the test when the same information is put in. The test will confuse left and right hand entry procedures- so will give you a question about a standard procedure but the image and answer is for a left hand procedure (and vice versa)! I hope the developers can fix this as it would be a great tool if it worked correctly.
Buena aplicación, pero le falta el Glide Slope.
Si también tuviera la simulación de la pendiente de planeo en ILS estaría genial, ojalá desarrollen esa parte pronto.

UI is easy to understand, even for early-stage IFR students.
Pay $33 to be nagged for a review every 5 questions!
You get so far in then you get nagged to review the app! How about taking your nag screens and shove them! When I get to all the features THEN ask me for a review! Not 10 minutes into the software! If I could rate it lower I would!
Solid Overall
Solid app overall. Great to practice different scenarios if you have 5 minutes to kill. I would like to see ILS included in the simulator with a vertical aspect by adjusting descent rates.

Sympas pas apprendre les bases IFR
Étudiant pilote de ligne je l’utilise pour revoir les bases et bosser sur des SID et des STAR réelles avec VOR/NDB. Je trouve cette appli sympathique pour revoir certaines bases IFR. Par contre au niveau du prix, 32 euros pour acheter tout le pack, une troisième aide à la navigation et un chronomètre intégré pour le holding aurait été l’idéal. Également il n’y a pas d explications sur les ARC DME alors qu’un exercice est proposé. On ce demande également si l’appli fait la différence entre une course et une radiale … Application un peu chère pour ce qu’elle propose mais permet de revoir la base de la base de la navigation IFR tout de même.

Buyer Beware!
Purchased an all-in one upgrade after viewing never ending in-game popup advertisements. Payment was accepted through the Apple Store over two weeks ago and I still do not have access.
Useful app but uses a 2-minute hold
Uses a 2-minute hold instead of the standard 1-minute. No option for user to change this setting - now fixed and uses 1 minute hold.
Over priced
App is extremely simplistic and ether value at $0.99 or less. Teaches palm method v. thumb method and the test examples don’t articulate with standard terminology. Such as: course heading, fix, radial.
Heading bug
PLEASE add the heading bug, how can you call this an IFR trainer without a heading bug in the app. Otherwise great app!! But please add a heading bug

Getting back into flying after 25 years .. finding this app super easy to use and super helpful for my putting instrument skills back into action!!
Not happy
Bought the app a few days ago to aid with my IFR training. For the price tag of USD38 this app doesn’t seem to offer much value. There are no instructions whatsoever on how to get the most out of it. And the HSI doesn’t simulate what’s used in flight. I’m struggling to get value out of it. Would like a refund!
Almost perfect
Works really well in teaching some of IFR concepts that can make use of a graphical app. My only issue has been with holding patterns. They teach and in the quiz ask for “inbound” heading while in govt exams and real life youre given a radial to work with which is the reciprocal. So inbound 90 (heading east to vor) is reall hold on the 270 radial.

The graphics are nice. You are not going to learn much from this, you would get as much from free online info.
Issue with HSI Practice
Overall i think this is a good app, however during the HSI practice sessions 2-4 as soon as you tried to move the aircraft it would disappear and the lost tab would highlight. I was unable to complete any of the practice sessions.
Valuable app for IFR pilots
Don’t hesitate to get and learn this app if you are seeking to be a proficient pilot. The map page has been expanded to have a greater fidelity with the actual approach environment. Improve your skills, use the app at anytime. The time your spend understanding this app will be time well spent.
Simulator hold is in the opposite direction
Hold should be given radial but the simulator sets course to the fix. I do not want to practice with this…
Good in a lot of ways
Very good in a lot of ways. Excellent in some. Not so in a few. Main gripe is the use of magenta in context of anything but GPS. Misleading. The other is that ADF has only a rotating compass card and the statement about it implies that there are no ADFs that aren’t overlaid on a heading indicator.
No es lo que promete
Cuando dice ILS, holding y HSI , son solo las diapositivas, en el simulador no puedes establecer ni el ils ni los holding, y no permite colocar las pistas donde uno desea ni con tumbos que uno desea, me sentí robado por esta aplicación, quiero que me devuelvan mi dinero
Great to get the basics
Generally great for tracking with vor, hsi, heading etc. I wish the area of simulation was bigger - flying a 10nm DME arc doesn’t really work on the small space, would be great if it could be made into 50x50nm or so.

This app brings a lot of things into focus, before you get in the airplane and try to learn them. I recommend to anybody trying to get their IFR certification
Holding pattern trainer is incomplete
If you're trying to learn holding patterns, save your $6 and try a different app. This one teaches only one weird method of determining the entry, although there are several widely-used methods. Worst of all, the app doesn't give you the ATC clearance like you will hear in flight. It gives you the inbound course - ATC will give you the radial to hold on, which is your outbound course. The pilot will need to determine the inbound course. Absolutely overpriced and incomplete. Save your money and try the other app out there.

Way over priced for what you get.
This bundle is not worth the money. Maybe just the simulator app would do. Not necessary to spend the $32 on the bundle when you can learn everything from the bundle with the simulator version. I reached out to the developer to see if I could get a refund and just buy the simulator version only. I’ve received no response.

Supongo que no será un fallo aislado pero cada cierto tiempo aleatorio la velocidad se baja a 0 y tienes que hacer un reset y todo esto después de haber pagado 13 euros
All in one trainer
CFIIs, this app rocks for holds, procedure turn, intercepts, DME arcs. VOR approach’s, missed approach, The great part is this provides for am inexpensive trainer the student can practice with.
For a six years hold
When paying this amount of money for an app, you would expect a little more detail explanation, a little bit more satisfaction with the controls. All and all it has the feel like it was done by a very young inexperienced developer and when that is the case they shouldn’t charge so much money. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!
I have 2 iPads
So far so good with regards using the app for practice. I’m sure it is going to be of great assistance. However I have 2 different iPads purchased for separate reasons. A small on for use in the aircraft and a larger one for use at home. Is there some way the app can be used on both without a second purchase? Even ForeFlight allows this feature. Thanks for your consideration.
Serious Issues
Some serious issues need to be resolved before this app is worth paying for. 1) Holds are depicted backwards (left/right) 2) Inbound leg of holds is given as a heading instead or radial or bearing, but not specified as such. So you will get every hold entry question wrong until you figure that out. 3) The ILS simulator is false advertising, as it has no glide slope component. Thus it is a LOC simulator, as exactly the same as the VOR/HSI sim.
Standard turning rate
Nice application to train about basic IFR. Regarding the cost, it’s a shame that standard turning rate depending speed isn’t taken in account. This correction would be great about holding patern practise.

Great trainer to help visualize procedures. With the holds when taking the test I’d like to see the hold when picking the entry rather than just “right or wrong.”
Crashes, missing obvious features
IFR simulator crashes causing return to home screen with complete loss of the task being performed. Pretty useless considering even when it, occasionally, works for a whole task, you can’t go back and see the trace to know how you did. Honestly, what is the point of the trace if you can’t hide the aircraft and then show the trace later? I would like to request a refund.

La app esta muy bien para practicar. Echo en falta tener las pínulas fijas de 45° y 90º en el EHSI como en los instrumentos reales. Es muy útil para hacer cálculos de rumbos cuando vas a hacer interceptaciones, arcos y esperas.

Not good - It has real bad mistakes in definitions
In the exercises, The phraseology is not the right one to request holding. It uses inbound course in stead of “hold east on radial ___”, for example. The depiction of the holdings are wrong. Many examples where the tear drop, parallel and direct entries are inverted.

Very Helpful
Unlike other apps you can hide the plane so makes the experience more realistic. One feature I would like to see is the ability to control the Heading by tilting the phone (like the yoke) for hand eye coordination development. This would be simple to apply using the accelerometer.
