My Go-To Chinese dictionary
The dictionary is the most versatile of all dictionaries I have used. A search can be done using English or Chinese (traditional or simplified characters). The pronunciation guide is given in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Aside from offering the meaning of a single word, the dictionary also lists phrases and idiomatic expressions using the word.
Update Disappointment!!
Why is the update a disappointment because it’s now messed up. Cantonese and Mandarin had swapped! Why do I want this app when I can use Google translation for free in Mandarin? Also I’ve purchased the removed ad and now the app doesn’t recognize!? I can’t restore my purchase…should have left this alone!! 😭😭
Great but…
It is awesome, but I wish it would translate all words to Cantonese, not just the ones it can find in the app.

Ads handling ruined this app
Although ads are important to app developers, the unusual way ads are handled by this app makes this otherwise nice app relatively useless. Sad.
Delay/Lag!
The overall application was awesome and even better than other competitives; however, the reason I gave 4 stars only was the annoying typing delay/lag! Please fix it!
No Jyut Pin
An update or two ago, this app would show pronunciations in both jyut pin and pin yin. Now it’s even worse. It’s showing jyut pin as the pin yin!

Good for the most part, but interface is extremely outdated and annoying
I have no complaints about the dictionary itself, other than the fact that there aren’t full sentences, but the main drawback is the extremely outdated, frustrating interface. The worst part is the lag. I think this is done on purpose because there is always and extremely annoying ad banner up top that does not show up immediately. When you go to press the first word on something you have looked up, everything will instantly shift downward, and the ad will sneakily pop up, forcing you to press that instead. Also, in order to go to a previous screen, instead of being able to swipe right like on most apps, you have to press the back button. Bookmarks are also frustrating because they don’t list the ping yum, so if you forgot how to pronounce certain characters, you’ll have to click on each one to find out.

Downloaded at iPad already, but can’t use!!
A bit late but…
I downloaded this app about a decade ago and it was basically the only reason why I survived Cantonese classes in Hong Kong. The classes I took were for non-Chinese students, but they were still really difficult, especially for someone who had zero knowledge in Cantonese. And the school I went to actually placed me in a class where the students had already taken at least 3 years of Cantonese classes because I went to Hong Kong halfway through high school. I’m happy to see how much this app has improved since then and hope the developer keeps up the great work. And thank you for helping me survive high school. :)
App is defective
This app is defective since the update to include ads. Developer is making no attempt to fix the problem. Too bad since it was one of my favorite Chinese apps.

but it’d be nice if you had the option between pinying and jyutping, instead of the random mix that the app currently has. Also it’d be nice if you could search words based on their jyutping/pinying.

Super helpful as an ABC
I needed to use this to translate for my job for patients and it was extremely helpful because I couldn’t remember certain vocabulary words. I hated the ads but paid a fair price to get rid of it. I think there should be some updates where there are vocabulary for different occupations like the medical field. I worry that I am not using the correct term when I explain stuff so if there could be these changes, it would help a lot! :)

Doesn’t work properly
The app I want to read out the first three words in Cantonese. It is hit and miss whether it will read out the other words or not which is very frustrating. It’s a shame as it would have been a very good app.

Great app for learning Cantonese!
I’ve been trying to find a good cantonese dictionary and this is great! Cantonese is definitely a niche language to learn but millions speak it and its something we need to preserve!
Cant open app!
Before the app updated, it was my favorite dictionary app! The definitions are accurate and had nice formatting. But now, with the new version of the app, I can’t open the app at all! It just loads for two seconds and then crashes completely. It doesn’t even show up on my running apps page, it just closes itself seconds after I click to open the app.

if u are canto but don’t know certain words this is helpful. Also, the curse words are just beautiful and with many examples too! I’m impressed. when I showed this to my mom she didn’t approve but also approved when she started cracking up 😎
App stopped working, got no response
This app stopped working about a month or two ago. I write to their contact email and got no response. Today I decided to try deleting it and then reinstalling it. Now it works again.
Handy looking up words I don't know
One of the best cantonese apps I could find. I grew up speaking cantonese, but as i got older I lost a lot of my ability to understand it. Some the pronounciation could use work. One suggestion is the measure words. I've always had a hard time learning the measure words that go along with nouns, so it would be very useful if they were included in the detailed page.

The Cantonese no longer works or is very limited. It’s just Mandarin but with a different voice.

Suggest some features
I'm a Chinese mandarin native and English as a second language. I'm using the iPad app to learn Cantonese since I like Cantonese songs so much. iPad has a large screen, so actually more stuff can be put together to enhance the efficiency. 1. I hope when I input something in the search bar, for each item shown below there are a horn icon and a star icon on the right side so that I can hear the pronunciation and add the correct item in the favorite list immediately without entering into the detailed page. 2. I the favorite list view, I hope the Cantonese pinyin and the horn icon is shown as well so that I can immediately pronounce and hear the sound without entering into the detailed page. 3. I hope I can sort the favorite list by Cantonese vowels or date added, etc.
5/5-I recommend it!
I like this app. At first I thought it was like you type it in from English to Cantonese but like they say “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” When I mean that, you just only type in a word, not a whole sentence. Overall it’s really great for someone who wants to learn the Cantonese the language or who is a tourist.

Wish it translated whole sentences. Currently only translates one word at a time. Cantonese accent sounds accurate. Also, sometimes the Cantonese audio will not work, but the English and mandarin audio does.

Excellent offline. Blocking online
This app works great offline. You have even a good pronunciation in english, Cantonese and mandarin available. When online with wifi or 3G it seeks for pronunciation with ispeech, which slows hugely the access and burn a lot of data. This feature should have a switch to disable it.
Very useful
I’m a native speaker of Cantonese and I’m using this app to teach my daughter who was born in the US and doesn’t speak much Chinese. The experience has been great.
App is not working
It was a perfect app a day ago then The audio suddenly not working. I reinstalled the app and it can’t open anymore.
Handy but needs update
Useful in searching words I don’t know. Love the audio function. Wish I was able to translate sentences though.
Pronunciations other than Cantonese not working
Not as described, the app doesn't react when choosing Mandarin and English pronunciation.
