first line DDx
Useful as a first line differential Dx. after history taking and physical ex.
Do Not Purchase
(Review from NP student) This DDx is greatly lacking in substance and content. Many signs and symptoms are not listed and many differentials are left out.
Doesn’t support split screen
Seems okay so far, but without split screen it makes it more difficult to use when studying and researching.

I use it a lot for practicals. They want a differential diagnosis, I can think of many from this app only.
Not helpful
This app wasn’t helpful for what I needed and now I’m getting billed for services not obtained. Ugh.
Ddx - good
Nice. It is very good for differential diagnosis.
Not very useful
A good DDx app is needed and this is not it. You can get a list of potential causes of a symptom and that’s about it. Can’t drill down to narrow the scope. No links to explain more details about conditions. The preview only allows a few things to be viewed so you’ll most likely need the in-app purchase to see your condition.
Decent with some nuisances that hinder usability
A useful app for quickly referencing differentials that correspond with various findings or complaints, the price is appropriate for what you get. It’s not too difficult to find what you’re looking for inside of the app and the overall interface works well. There is one major annoying quirk, however: the update mechanism. Most of us are probably not using this app every day, but may pull it out a few times a month. The goal is to quickly look something up and move on, yet the app’s update mechanism insists on kicking in at launch and on seemingly random days. There is no way to skip the update process, and heaven help you if you’re in an area of the hospital or clinic with slow or no internet access, as the application simply will not let you use the rest of it before updating. Because of the update issue the app is a bit less usable or reliable as it could (and should) be.
Very helpful
For years, I have used Diagnosaurus as an aid in practice and in teaching my medical students.
Poor app, can’t believe I paid for it
If you’re in med school just google it, search on up to date, or think for a second. This app has no background info, just a list of ddx and it doesn’t even link to a page with more info. You would end up looking it up anyway.
Paid version limited but useful
.the differential diagnoses are incomplete but helpful to jog your mind for possibilities to consider.

This is ridiculous
I literally just but this app a few days ago. I used it the first day after purchase and it worked perfectly but now it is not even working. I am not even sure who to contact. Cos I feel I just got ripped off.
If only you could edit it......
It's a fun app for remembering your differential. They need to make it possible to add to the differential. Just add an edit feature so I can type in other differentials that aren't included. They should also make it possible to make your own categories.
Great as quick reference for differential diagnosis
This app is a great tool when you have patients with vague symptoms.I have found it very helpful.
No upgrade deal
I have been waiting for the upgrade now for a year but I was disappointed to know that you have to buy it again full price with no upgrade price for previous customers.

Very useful if you need a quick differential diagnosis. But... I prefer the old icon...
Great for what it is
I’m a resident who was recommended this app by a colleague. At first i thought it was lame but after a few weeks i actually think it’s a great resource. Yes, you should know a good differential for common stuff cold. Yes, you can find more info elsewhere for workup and broader differentials and diagnostic algorithms. But nothing i’ve found is quite as good for 3 am when your brain is foggy and you have to staff a new patient in 10 minutes and you want to make sure you’ve covered your bases. Even when i have more time i’ll first use my own knowledge and then check this to see if there is anything else that i think is plausible. If you have good clinical background you can go through the differentials quick and rule out etiologies in your head or make a mental asterisk next to ones that may deserve more workup/research. Anyway, i highly recommend it, just don’t expect it to be what it’s not intended to be.

I bought this app years ago which I loved and then they just stopped supporting the old version and it no longer works and they don’t grandfather you into the new one. I’m thinking of buying the new one but don’t want to support a company that’s just gonna make me buy a new and functionally identical product every few years after they make your old one obsolete.
Easy to use and fast diagnostics assistance in the office
In retirement the access to current literature diminished a rapid access in my e-phone.
Dev makes you rebuy
I bought the original diagnasarus app and I get it, newer versions come out. But I was fine with a slightly older copy. Now, I don’t have any way of even downloading my legacy copy which I paid for. And the app in no way recognizes that you’ve paid once before. Poor investment.
Usefull
I use the app frequently to look up differential.app is easy to use and well designed .
Unbound do not use
I have had many of their products in last few years at about 60 an app. iOS 11 comes along and they are the ONLY app publisher that didn’t update their product to work in iOS 11. Their solution - rebuy every app to the updated iOS app. I bought the standalone non subscription app to prevent downstream costs with a huge upfront cost. Egg on my face huh. Unbound had 2 years to update all their apps but chose to gouge their customer base!
