What people like
- Really quick and helpful support
- Easy to use for kids
- Great value for the price
What they complain about
- App crashes and freezes constantly
- Exported videos often have glitches
- Very poor directions and tutorials
Always useful
I’ve had this some years now, good to see it’s still updated, I’ve never had a complaint.
Poor support and operation
This app will never get improved. I spent time trying to get it to work quickly on my iPad to discover that it never prompted me to allow access to my photos. Even given that fix, it is awkward, not intuitive, and clunky to use. Either get it right, or give it up DoInk!
I just started
I cannot find out how to make a animation path on actual people
Bad do not buy
I used it for a while and than a week later it broke and I could never use it again
Features missing
The automatic person masking button does not show up. iOS 15 iPhone and iOS 16 iPad.
Mini & Mighty
Love, love this app! Easy to use, intuitive, great editing features! For the price it’s awesome!
Doing
Very poor directions. Unable to add online background
This app is almost perfect
I have nothing bad to say about this app for the most part. It’s very easy to use and create with. The only improvement I wish they would make and future versions is to make it easier to scale images down and still keep the image level. I really hope the developers see this message because that is the one and only nerve-racking element of this app and the only reason I can’t give it five stars
This app is okay
The video and picture remove tool is no longer working. My phone is up-to-date. It’s still not giving me the option to remove the person only.
Import Media Bug
I love this app; I use almost all the time, and it is my go-to app for chroma-keying green screens videos. However, about a month ago, I’ve recently experienced an issue out of nowhere where when I try to upload a video from my gallery, it shows videos jumbled out of order instead of most recent, and when I click on the video I am looking for, it actually is not that video. In fact, it is a different video from my gallery and it makes it frustrating to find the video I am looking for because the thumbnail and timestamp shows up as a different video than what it actually is after choosing it on the video timeline. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it, but the issue still persists. I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this issue, but if we can get an fix for this bug as soon as possible, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Simple and Gets The Job Done!
Nice app! It only costs $5 and it deletes any background color I like! The only thing I have to say about it is maybe change how it sees the colors as sometimes, for example it deletes something dark red when I wanted to delete light pink. Overall, very good!
Horrible
To many bugs. How can anyone use this?
Add this feature
I really want to turn normal videos into a green screen video. This can be possible if there was a feature where you can erase the video for each frame and not the entire video
Please fix your app
First off, this app SHOULD NOT be paid for even without the bugs and glitches. Second, your app deletes projects after they are left for a few minutes. You are scamming people out of there money and you should get your app working before you make people pay for it.
It needs work
I spent 5 bucks on that and at first was really cool but then it starts glitching BAD and if your reading this don’t think oh this is rare and doesn’t happen the same thing happened to my friend with the glitches the problem is I put the vid in and it doesn’t show the right color and there is a way to change what color the green screen color so I change the color and I play the vid and it stops and starts agin and then kicks me every time please fix this the app is actually really good but this stresses me out because I have a big YouTube vid coming up and I don’t want the vid to be bad because this app
Quick Customer Service!
I’m an art teacher teaching rotoscope animation using the DoInk Animation app. A student had an aspect ratio issue and I emailed DoInk Tuesday evening for advice on how to fix it and when I got up Wednesday morning, I already an email response with a fix! Thank you for your amazing quick response!
This App is terrible
It legit just freezes. Every single time. How do i get my money back?
Your Not “Do ink” anything about this common problem!!!
So, I logged into Green Screen. I played it. I made two videos. I’m making a third one for my friends when IT KICKED ME OUT! I was so upset, I started crying. I am also experiencing a problem where it lags like crazy. I can’t even play my videos, at least not in app! I had worked so hard on my movie. At least it saved my progress, but what is the point if you can’t watch your creation? If you don’t fix this I am deleting the app. For now, I’ll just export my movie and move to KineMaster for ALL movie making. (Hope it has a green screen thing!) I am rating this app 4 stars, because it was really great before it started to kick me out. Please fix this glitch. To anyone buying this app...it works. For like 10 minutes. To Do Ink...please fix this lag! It’s REALLY annoying. Your very sad friend, Me.
Used to work
This app used to work just fine. I no longer can use it. It’s all updated and my iPhone is also updated. It will not let me add photos in it.
Suddenly Crashing
This app has been my favorite green screen editor for years, and one day it just started crashing every couple of minutes and working extremely slowly. I have all the updates and am frustrated by this because no other green screen editor has the options and effects this one does. It’s a fantastic app apart from this. Please fix these bugs.
Easy green screen for kids
DoInk is my favorite app for using green screen with elementary age children. It is so easy to use, reliable and FUN!
Stupid
This app is the worst who ever made this app is a big fat chungus.
Great after doing research
I am updating my review from 2 to 4 stars. It took a day but I was able to download on my iPad with no extra cost. After doing my own research and watching a video session from an online conference I was able to create some pictures. I just wish they offered more helpful tutorials on the app. Original review-It is not super user friendly. The tutorial helps only slightly. It is very difficult to use on the iPhone. I thought I could redownload it onto my iPad. Nope. I would have to pay to get it on my iPad. Waste of money, and extremely frustrating.
Eh
Good for green screen but always will just randomly freeze and kick me out there needs to be some things fixed and then I would give it 5 stars
Need more layers
This is great software for my videos but I need more layers that can all move individually because the old add to camera roll and make first layer is not cutting it
This app opens up POSSIBILITIES so EASILY
When I make movies with my students they want to do very imaginative and creative special effects. I am usually very limited by my consumer grade software in my classroom. However, with the green screen app- anything goes! You want to interact with your art? SURE! You want to have flying animations buzz by you? SURE. You want to turn yourself magically into a creature? No Problem. Thank you for helping my students express their creativity with your amazing app!
Can I get my money back?
This app crashes all the time. Every minute or so. I can’t live roved without it crashing.
Please do a bug fix..
First I’m writing this comment as a complain I only rated this 4 stars because it would be the best app in the world only if it did not have the bugs. Second my iPad is fully updated and so is the app. Third is the real stuff...One day I used it for a movie I’m making and out of the blue it just kicked me out! I thought “okay...weird..” I thought so I came back in. It took a long time to load but was still okay. I went on it for at least 5 mins and it kicked me out again!! Annoyed I went back in...it did the same thing over and over again! I still used it every day.. but it keeps kicking me out and taking long to load. And every day I check for a update- a bug update. After weeks of ‘suffering’ I saw the update!! I pushed update and waited for it to load (As before my iPad is fully updated so it went fast.) I finally loaded I went in super fast the fastest I had ever tapped before! I used it for 10 mins....it kicked me out....I went back in...it didn’t even load before it kicked me out...it did change but the only change was just worse. I looked back at the App Store and saw the only ‘fix’ was just you could add text...very mad and you should do the bug fix...:(
A bug
Can you fix this glitch, when I try to add a clip from my phone and I play it, there’s just a black screen. The only thing i can do is listen to it. I am trying to use this app so please fix it fast. Because of his bug I’m going to rate it 2 stars but if you fix this it’s going to be 5

Love this app!
This app is awesome! Easy to use, easy to teach to kids. I use it my elementary school library as young as 3rd grade. The best part is that even though it’s easy to use, it’s very robust. The kids make incredible projects. And it simple app smash with! This app definitely plays nice in the sandbox! The drawing and animation app is also a winner ;)
Doesn’t have the right colors And I can’t figure out how to use it
Someone make a tutorial for the updated version.
Great app, although I have one problem
I love everything about this app except the trimming tool. Although the trimming tool does work in the way it was intended to I think that a ‘split’ feature (like the one in iMovie) would be EXCELLENT. If I want to split anything I have to save to the camera roll and open it in iMovie, then go back. This is a bit of a hassle and a needless waste of time. I will leave a 5 star review if this feature gets implemented. Thanks DoINK!
Hard
I downloaded this app for the second time, seeing if I would understand it. I downloaded it, and it was hard. I didn't understand the how to do it. Its hard.
Masking Tool problem
The masking tool does not confirm the edit when I tap done after masking. This is really pissing me off, because without this app I can’t make good videos.
Great
This does exactly what I want, easily. The screen can be changed from green to any color and at any level. The app does even more things that I haven’t even used yet. And I’ve had it for several years.
fix your app
i’ve been using this app to edit videos for a while now, and it always either 1. lags, 2. crashes, or 3. both. i can’t even export a video without it crashing. i usually don’t leave bad reviews, but this is just driving me insane.
Nice app
I like this app because it’s great for school, fun and u can create ur own things. But needs improvement of how it looks. It looks a bit real but mostly real but u can always see green around the people. And the voice is out of time. Still great app
Keeps Crashing
This seems like a great app that I would be able to use with my kinder students, especially now during remote learning. However, as I am creating projects, the app continues to crash. I tried resetting my phone and everything. It will not load anything in my project and as soon as it starts to, it crashes.
Disappointed
I really wanted this to work, as I’ve spent hours searching for an app that would allow me to easily remove the background in my videos and save as transparent. The major downfall with this app is the Chromakey feature. There is no eye dropper to allow you to easily grab the color you wish to remove. I could tap my background, but it inevitably wiped out essentially all of my image.
Love it!
This app is THE BEST. In 2018 I was trying to find a good editing app that I could use to make videos and sketches. I came across this app and I got it did the tutorial and I was amazed! I love using this app and with a little practice and learning you can make something really cool!
You cannot import your drawings from Animation by do ink
This app is cool but if you draw something, and try to put it on green screen by ink it won’t work please fix! And this app needs better ....
Good app but..
Please make it cheaper and a bit more professional
Fix bugs please
I used this app now for about 10 months. Recently like 3-4 weeks ago it started just freezing and crashing. Sooo frustrating after spending hours on a project to just have to delete it and reload the app to have it do it all over. Considering moving on to another app for my green screen purposes. Please, please update.
Fix Crashes
Good App for little editing later on yes it crashes a lot the more stuff you put in it but was good at start
AMAZING!
I LOVE this app, and it's the only app I can find that supports Image format, AND Video format! All of the bad reviews are from years ago, and this app changed! I would recommend this to everyone who is reading this.
SO MANY GLITCHES
This green screen app is great when it works. That’s the problem. It literally never works. Not only does it keep crashing but whenever I try to film it just leaves me with a black screen and nothing else. It also sometimes cuts off half of the screen. I have tried restarting the app, deleting it, and restarting my iPad but none of these seem to work. Fix your glitchy app!
Is there anything better?
Green Screen is one of my daily apps that I use for iMovies . Although there are a few problems here and there it is still amazing . To Star Wars movies to little baby shows Green Screen is in lots of commercials and movies. I find it good for kids to play with Thanks Green Screen A Lot!😘
One issue
I’m writing this review because I am so frustrated with this app. It worked great for a while but now...it just crashes. I worked so hard on a project and then it crashed and I can’t work on it anymore. I open my project, the screen goes black, and I get kicked out. I had to download a different app because I couldn’t work on this one.
Works great for the most part but there’s a glitch
The app is simple to use and has really aided in me making videos to teach my lessons and upload them all to YouTube for them to watch. I have however run into a VERY annoying glitch. I spend a good amount of time recording and editing my videos, and I export them and save them to my camera roll. Sometimes I have the time to watch the video and other times I just like to upload it right to YouTube assuming all is good. But I have found that my green screen video layer does not export correctly and pauses me in the middle of the video but my talking is totally fine and still there from the video.... but it’s just a still video of me sitting there looking stupid but the talking proceeds as it should. So of course if I have already sent the links to parents I have to spend the time exporting it again, re-uploading to YouTube, apologizing to parents, and resending a new link because I have to re-export the video to make sure that it did so correctly. If this exporting glitch can be fixed this app would get 5 full stars.
