I really enjoy this game so much sometimes it takes too much of my time and I have to stop. It’s a great game.
Avoid the $$$ trap
There is a nasty aspect to this game which enables senior playtime “plunder” the cities of new players. I recommend not purchasing this game until “plundering “ is eliminated. Very good game. Very hard to avoid spending real $$$ The diamond trap will require you to spend real $$$ to advance. I suggest setting a weekly budget, $20, $50, or >$100 per week. I have been trying to get the games administrators to block a player who has been threatening me for almost two weeks. The player Eagle 7 is extremely intimidating. My comment on the expense of playing this game still stands. Unless you are able to hack the game to acquire diamonds you will make little progress without spending a whole lot of real money. It is a good game, but lack of support, and the high cost in real dollars should be considered before you commit to participating.

POOR! gaming experience
Fantastic graphics, but it relies on the same pay-to-win model of endless builds designed solely to drain your wallet. I'm all for supporting developers—I’d gladly pay an upfront price or buy DLC—but whatever happened to actually finishing a game and restarting with your gained experience? Modern devs treat players like project managers. I don’t want to manage a perpetual construction project; I want to play a complete game.

Too many cheaters and mobile play limitations
There are so many players using bots to cheat and take over the fighting. Inno hasn’t fixed this in all the years I’ve been playing and actually reward the heavy spenders by capping the attrition on their fights so the bots can go on and on each day. Easy fix is to remove the caps. Inno also needs to invest in infrastructure upgrades - lags and errors are out of control. If you plan on starting this game for the first time, I’d recommend you pass. It’s outdated and unfairly advantageous to those willing to spend the most.

Lots of cheating
I have played this game for a while now. While it is fun and it is one of the few games you can advance in without spending a lot of money, it has recently gotten less enjoyable. There is extreme cheating in the game and the developers will not do anything about it. I have enjoyed this game so much that I paid real money to develop my city. I am rethinking that and am even considering quitting the game. Cheating destroys the game for everyone. Bots, macros, and other forms of cheating are being used openly. They have been shared in personal and global chats. There are several servers and channels on Discord where discussion of ways to cheat are taking place. I would not recommend this game at this time. If Inno decides to finally do something, I will revise this review.

A lot more in-depth than I thought
Frustrating!
I started again! I’m going crazy again! I am losing a battle over and over! My eight military have a total attack power of 816. His eight total to 63. One of my eight should easily be able beat him! There is no way I can lose but I have lost eight times! I finally won! YAY!
Great game
I’ve been playing this game for many years & love it 😊 The events are good too but, I just wish that when an event ends you could have extra time to spend your points instead of losing them as soon as it ends. Don’t expect to progress fast as this is a slow paced game. I like that you can choose to be either a lone player or as a group.

I hated this game
The fighting mechanics are no where near the insane battles that are shown in the trailer and the graphics in the fighting are absolutely shockingly bad. Overall I don’t think any of you should download this game.

Could Be Better
Game is great in many ways, however, the game company (Innogames) is very ill focused. Rather than build on what has been established and in the works since day one.. Innogames focuses on special events, side projects, etc. and you’re left waiting FOREVER ( it took me over 8 years to build one statue!) to get the pieces needed to complete your building / project / whatever you want to call it. And property in the game is also extremely slow and difficult to obtain. Leaving you with more buildings than you can use. If you play.. this is a VERY long term game. And the first year will be slow.
Terrible server lag
Worked fine for years and is a great demand. However, it appears they don’t know how to address increased players on at the same time. They blame it on “browser issues” basically just throwing it back at the user complaining saying it’s not their fault. I think they should hire some people that know what they are doing to run the servers. Or at least consult someone that knows about these issues

Overcharges
Seems to the game as a glitch. I bought some diamonds, but never got them and twice I got overcharged the same purchase, and they refuse to do anything about it.

Permanent buffering
Having enjoyed playing this game for the last 7 years with no issues I started experiencing issues with constant buffering during battles in GbG GE and QI about 2 months ago. Following 3 engineer visits to check our broadband connection it’s now been confirmed the issue is with Apple. As we have had no issues with our laptop, a non Apple product, this seems to support it. So please Apple get it sorted 🙏🏻

To the developer/developers I think you did a great job making this game and I think it is amazing. Constant server disconnects
I constantly get dropped from the game server and hit with connection errors. Hoping to fix this, I completely upgraded from a 2021 iPad to a brand-new current-gen iPad—only to experience the exact same disconnects at the exact same rate. This isn't a problem with device performance or memory; it's a flaw in how the app handles network connections. Instead of silently reconnecting in the background when a momentary signal drop happens, the app completely freezes up and loses server sync, forcing me to force-close and restart the game every single time. Developers: Please fix your network stack and background reconnection logic. Players shouldn't have to constantly restart the app on brand-new hardware just to stay connected.

Expensive Game to Play
FOE is an entertaining game to play but, if you’re going to get anywhere in this game, it’s going to cost you several hundreds of dollars in the long run. All of the games algorithms seem to be designed to separate a player from all of his assets as quickly as possible. There are also many many glitches in the software which always seem to deny or short a player from achieving the most from their hard earned play. If you are a retired individual on a fixed income or a young person who should be building a 401K for your future retirement in my opinion, this game isn’t for you. These are strictly my opinion and I’m telling you as I see it but, I’m trying to be as honest and helpful as I can be to new or prospective players. I do play and I have been for a while now and yes, I’ve spent a lot of money. In good conscience I can “NOT” recommend this game.

If you enjoy building a city, and fighting. Then this game has it all and lots of annoying ads. It wasn’t the annoying ads would’ve gotten five stars.
Fn and challenging
It’s a great strategy game that is constantly challenging. I don’t know a thing about fighting battles, but it’s fun to constantly strategize which buildings to build next, and where to invest your winnings from the events, to assist with the next goal you want to achieve in the game.
Deleted city
When I first saw this app I thought that it will be a fun game and it was and I spent lots of days and months playing it until after the latest update, for some reason it had deleted all of my city and restarted me. Sorry but I’m not playing anymore

Except for the QI the game is going great.
Was a very good game, but now some problems.
I’ve been playing this every day for years. I play the long way without buying diamonds etc, and have found it very fulfilling and challenging in a positive way. But over the last month or so I’ve noticed some worrying developments. I’d saved up diamonds to buy a land expansion. I needed 600 and was nearly there. As I don’t buy diamonds, it took a long time. Then, over an hour, I lost hundreds without spending any. I thought I’d accidentally clicked something. But a few weeks later over a hundred vanished again. Yesterday I’d won a land expansion by conquering a territory. I purchased a square of land with coins. But when I went to build on it today, that square of land had gone and was showing ‘for sale’. Is this just a glitch, or is it a deliberate way of forcing me to purchase diamonds?
Great Game… but
It’s a great game. I love it. But why is it so hard to expand your land? I have several new buildings ready to place and tasks telling me to place more buildings… but I have no where to put them? It’s virtually impossible to buy expansion areas with normal in game coins. I’m not going to use diamonds on this because no doubt I’ll need those further on. Please make it easier to expand. I viewed another player who was much further ahead than me and all their buildings were tightly squashed together. If that’s how it’s going to be, then that will really spoil the game. I want to be able to spread my buildings out and include lots of roads and decorations, not have everything crammed in to a tiny square in the centre. If you can improve this and make it easy to expand with normal in game coins or forge coins or even an a video watch, then I will gladly up my star rating from 3 to 5. Thank you. Just to add, following the developer’s reply. It is a great game, with masses of potential and I do appreciate it is a challenging game. But not being able to expand the land at the same pace as I complete research means I can no longer play it. I have done lots of research and won many battles and done lots of tasks. But I can’t place any new buildings, as there is no room. so I’m basically playing a game, not to create a city, but to fill up my inventory box. I’ll try the game again in a month or two to see if this has been improved.

As soon as I opened this game I got a text saying there was an attempt to purchase $398 on Apple Pay. And there wasn’t any charges on my account and shouldn’t be cause I only have $1.80 in there. But still it’s quite weird to get a text from an unknown number that isn’t even a United States number as soon as you open a game. I quickly uninstalled.
Update problems
Having trouble logging in since last update
This is a good enough game, but the diamond things are annoying
I gave this two stars because I’m at the iron age and they have to pay for everything with diamonds, I’m an eight year old child and I don’t know the password to buy this but apart from that it is a good enough game. You can maybe make it a bit better without having to pay with diamonds that cost real money. And make it be a bit more easier like in the ads.

It is a fun game, but I want to be able to expand
No rewards for ads
If you have me watch ads for punishing me for playing on a Mac at least ensure the ads close and property give rewards. Also I sometimes talk crab but this game is the best out there

It's an ok game but many flaws. It is a money grab first thing. Many of the moves can takes months because you gave to build up for expansion space which cost way to much money. It is impossible to move things around since there is no neutral space to put things in. Not only that but all the buildings must fit on the square a certain way. You can’t rotate them.

Great game but needs support for iPhones in lockdown mode and not relying on game centre
