Best bank ever!
Terrible AI Trash
Have been with ELGA for nearly 2 decades now. A year ago I loved this app, it functioned as expected, no bugs, the layout of the buttons made sense. It was a simple, intuitive app that I could easily navigate to see my bank statements. Since then, the app has completely changed. The layout is unintuitive, half the features just don’t seem to work. Even a function as simple as filtering by deposits vs withdrawals just DOES NOT work. I’ve suspected AI for awhile now, and their recent LinkedIn post confirms my suspicions. My guess would be that no one working on the app has any actual dev experience and is just feeding AI prompts to create the interface. AI is useful in a lot of ways, but it struggles to create intuitive User Interfaces, and it always will. Mark my words, this problem will only continue to get worse unless they actually get real people to test the app and understand the needs of their users. I for one will be finding a better bank with an app that actually lets me do what I need to do.

It’d be nice to see the amount of money pending when I pay my rent on the app. So it’s not still available in my account
Terrible app
Every couple of years ELGA updates this app with TERRIBLE RESULTS!! The whole point of using an app is the ease of use. Somehow this escaped the designer of this update!! It’s NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!! You literally can’t find anything
New app
I like elga but I am not a fan of the recent app update. It was more user friendly before.

Grateful for all the support and help from ELGA, my wife and I have been members for along time and never had a problem with lost or stolen funds you guys have always called or canceled the card that was scammed and quick to get the money back. So we want to say how THANKFUL we are!!!
Battery Killer Spyware
You HAVE to force close the app to get it to disengage the GPS activity tracking you. Hours later? Nope still tracking you. Kills your battery life. Login and there’s like 3 or 4 spots where there’s “Accounts” buttons peppered around the main screen but only the tab at the bottom will actually show you your transactions. Did a psychopath toddler design this app? Nothing is intuitive. No ability to transfer money to any type of external account. TRASH!

Can I opt out the otp to send my wife and kids money without having to wait for a passcode that may or may not come when I need it to?
This bank is pretty rad !!!
I usually see the banks as the bad guys but with ELGA I feel they go out of their way to help and take care of you . If I have questions they are prompt on answering and always very knowledgeable. They have a lot of tools to help you and take care of your money and financial well being very well . I actually trust this bank .

Customer service is terrible and the app is terrible and lacks features previously available and it’s extremely confusing to use

Require Plaid, which monitors your data in perpetuity
The roll-out was messy. The app got better and it's okay to use, but MUCH MORE CONVOLUTED than before. To transfer money to any outside account, you have to authorize Plaid. They do NOT give you the option to add the account even via Plaid through a 2-deposit method. Look at their privacy policy on Plaid. They track every purchase/transaction on every connected account IN PERPETUITY. This also means if your CU or Bank doesn't use Plaid, you cannot add them. This is on the verge of a deal-breaker for me. You could turn on the feature in Plaid, but you won't. ElGa, you are doing a disservice to years-loyal customers and supporting a surveillance state where all my transactions are sold to the highest bidder. Boo.

When they launched the new design last year I was NOT a fan of how it looked AT ALL but this most recent update made it look 1000x nicer and I actually like it better than the original now
Half of these reviews are about the bank itself, not the app. Listen to your customers about the app
The banking experience is very clustered. This new design is so poor it genuinely has made me start to switch over to SoFi just to have a more information rich experience. It takes so many clicks to get anything done. Bring a new revamp or the old app back.

I really dislike this new app I liked how simple the old app was this one just is too fancy and looks like all the other apps I hated and just makes banking harder

Every time I go to use this app, it’s always down for maintenance. Every day it seems like, multiple times a day. It’s very annoying.

support is easy to access, and app features work pretty flawlessly. i’ve used this app to mobil deposit checks every week for years now and it has never given me an issue.
So confusing
I don’t understand why they had to make such a complex app. The old app was so obvious and easy to use. I feel like I am clicking a million buttons and getting nowhere. I understand changing the design to look more updated but instead it looks overwhelming. Way too many unnecessary tabs.

The app has come a long way and this is the best version yet! Been a customer for a long time and I have yet to be disappointed.
