What people like
- Challenging but not impossible to solve
- Fun and clever word connections
- Good for exercising your brain
What they complain about
- Ads interrupt you constantly
- Subscription price is way too high
- Some puzzles have no clear right answer
- Game freezes and crashes often
Fun but costly
Like others I like the game and would buy an ad free version but the pricing is way too high.
Fair
The 5 diamonds is way too low, it’s an ok game when bored.
Fun
It’s a fun game. Although sometimes the connections don’t make sense. Also please please please stop making the two hint buttons jump up and down. It’s really distracting and annoying. I know where they are if I need them!!!
The Ads Ruin the Game
I get it…developers need funding. But an ad after EVERY SINGLE ROUND is crazy, and charging $5 a week to go ad free is absolutely ridiculous. Other games of higher quality are $7 to be ad free forever. It’s a fun game, but not worth the frustration or cost.
Good game but
This is a good game and suits my brain perfectly. But the incessant adverts after each level and an extortionate price (£4.99 WEEKLY - most apps do that for life!) means that I’m deleting the app!
New update!
Fun challenging game especially now that the completed puzzle doesn’t disappear and allows time to see the clever connections. Thank you
Ad removal subscription
Having ad removal as a subscription is diabolical. Immediately deleted the app.
Occasional frustration
Needs better fact-checking to eliminate possibility of multiple correct answers.
connections get absurd fairly quickly
At first the game was my new obsessions. Loved it enough to start paying for things, but then about 200 levels in, the connections starting getting a bit absurd, with some “correct” connections being a significant stretch compared to other possible connections, and some categories in the same puzzle being so similar, it was anyone’s guess which category a word was supposed to be connected with. And some didn’t make any sense. e.g. community goes with software?? huh?! i.e. it went from a fun challenging game to an exercise in futility.
Good concept - decent execution
This is a fun game with an interesting twist on other word association games. Some levels are pretty easy but most are a good challenge. I would rate it 5 stars but I noticed a few levels where it seemed one word would be a much better fit for the “link” cell than what the solution suggested. Also randomly this game will open a pop-up window in my internet browser usually to a page claiming my phone’s been hacked, which makes me feel like the game is not secure, so I deleted it
Fun but one suggestion
This game is the perfect blend of challenging and fun. Not so easy you breeze through, but not so hard, you give up. I just wish it didn’t disappear so fast on the last correct move. I want time to review the answers!
Sacrificed gameplay integrity for a cheap cash grab
As other reviewers have already pointed out, the “free” version is ad supported, and there is an ad after every single puzzle following a certain level. Your tolerance for that will vary. However what is the most egregious sin is that the puzzles become engineered in such a way as to REQUIRE the use of multiple hints which after using them up require in-game currency, purchased with actual money, to purchase more. Hints can be earned without spending actual money, but they are earned at too slow a rate to bypass the “problem puzzles”, which will need many to be used just to continue. Other reviewers have rightly complained about the similarity and overlap between topics making separating and arranging them impossible, but a more common and insidious tactic is to randomly assign unrelated words to the topics so that the puzzle can only be “solved” via brute force or buying hints. The “solutions” to these puzzles are not just deliberately obtuse or use obscure definitions to justify their connection, they are completely irrelevant to each other. The “solution” can be seen after using a hint, and once you catch on to the underhanded methodology it is infuriating. I started this review thinking I would rate it 2 stars, but recounting this justifiably angers me to realizing it really deserves a 1 for this nonsense. The closer you get to puzzles in the 80s the more common it gets. The Topics might be Safari and Nobility. The “shared” word? Not binoculars or anything that might make sense… it’s Elephants. What? That’s only a single example of this nonsense, it gets worse. Seeing the “solution” after hints have placed the words is maddening: especially when you realize that it’s not just that often there are better fits for the groupings, but that the “acceptable” ones are categorically and empirically wrong.
Fun but strange vocabulary
The Middle Ages include dragons but not Popes or Cardinals? And other odd choices.
Ads. Seriously?
This game is fun but you want $7.99 a WEEK to get rid of ads, no thanks. I see me not continuing to play this game because of the excessive amount of ads.
Too Many Ads
I like this game. Puts a fresh spin on word games and is a good difficulty level. My issue is the ads. After 30 levels or so, when you’re lulled into a false sense of peace, there is an ad after every single level. Ugh. I would pay to remove ads, but you can only pay to remove an ad for a week. That’s right, they want $5/week to go ad free! There is no lifetime option. I’m sorry, but no. Good game, but not worth $260 per year.
Игра
Прикольная игра
Great game but too many ads!
I love the game but the ads after every single completed level made me erase the game completely.
Like it so far - wish it had dark mode
The game is different and I like it. There are some levels that will stump you so it’s not a super easy game to get bored of. The topics are also interesting. I just wish there was a dark mode so that I could play it at night to wind down. I also have sensitive eyes so the dark modes are always appreciated.
Non-English Native Developers or just Scummy?
The clues provided are often so general as to apply to multiple categories with the association of a word to one category being as strong or tenuous as an association with another category. This leads to needing to try a wide variety of combinations to figure out which loose collection of associations is the one the dev’s intend. I can’t tell whether this is due to the devs being bad at crafting associations or doing so intentionally to drive people to spend money for hints. Given the state of app game market, I suspect the latter. But as they say, never attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence. That said, you can pay for no ads— for 7 days. Then you have to pay again and again for every 7 days for continued absence of ads, so maybe just scum
Great concept, but…
This should be a fun diversion, but it’s rendered near-unplayable by the advert after every level, and £5 for 7 days ad-free is far too expensive.
Wait time
After solving a puzzle, there is no time to look at the solution. It would be nice to see the final correct answers!
Just because
When games keep interrupting gameplay to force a review I will give the lowest review possible due to the harassment for a review.
Scam
It is a great game but you pay 99 pesos aprox 5 usd for only 7 days add free!
Good, but….
I enjoy the game concept, but it frequently freezes or doesn’t load all the way. I don’t think it is my phone or signal that is the issue since I have never had this problem with any other game.
Seems to need an update
I was enjoying the game until my phone froze then the screen began to flicker.
Sync
Great came but needs a sync between devices
Horrible
Great idea but it doesn’t work. It froze on level 6. It also doesn’t color the flower unless you use a boost. Lame. After it froze the screen started flashing like a strobe light. It hurt my eyes and could be very bad if someone was sensitive to that. Do not recommend. If developers reply to me I will not respond.
Pretty good game !
I like that this game isn’t timed and agree with another review that said sometimes the categories are too close. One time the tiles were green when correct but it never showed up again - maybe something I missed. But all in all I’m enjoying this game.
Looks good at first, then fails in every way
Excessive and lengthy ads shortly after initial gameplay; solutions that don’t stand up to logic or common sense; limited word set — which given that this is a word-based game seems an odd choice. Just a shoddily designed and put together game that makes every excruciating minute on the app a cash grab. Even though it was free to download, I feel vaguely ripped off. Not a typical reaction of mine at all. But I’m deleting it and do regret the time I wasted on it. I’ve made a note of the developer’s name and will be avoiding their games going forward.
Completed puzzle
Completed puzzle should stay on the screen long enough for player to see results and or given the option to choose next round
A pleasant surprise
I wasn’t sure it would be challenging but it is! Not impossible though so it’s still lots of fun.
Boring
Dull word game
Let us see the completed puzzle.
It’s a fun, challenging game. Took one star away because I wish you could see the completed game for more than a split second.
Game died
Loved the game . But Was into 100+ level when the game failed to load. I was frustrated with too many ads to solve anyway so I deleted the app. Wanted me to buy solutions to continue and it would cost me $4.99 PER WEEK!. Ridiculous!
Mid
Well it’s amazing but the reason is because you have to put the words in a specific order and I don’t like that
Too damn many ads
Can’t deal with all the ads. Game is fun but an ad after EVERY one is ridiculous. Uninstalling.
Challenging
I almost deleted it cos it was too challenging but I decided to keep it and exercise my brain. If you have a good broad vocabulary and like being challenged, you should like this game.
Not as advertised
The advertisement showed crayon tools used to color in the blocks to put them in the right category. It looked like a fun twist on a coloring game. But there’s no coloring at all. You just tap on the hexes to move them. Waste of my time.
Love/hate
Love the game but not paying for limited time ads. Ads after EVERY LEVEL is ridiculous. I also want to see th grid father it finishes so I can see all the connections I might have missed. Fix the ads or I may delete.
Too many ads
I love these kinds of games and having ads is understandable. But an ad after EVERY SINGLE GAME is insane!!!!! Uninstalling.
It’s like fun but…
Like it’s fun but many times there’s plenty of words that straight up go with other catagories but nonsensically. It’s not very well designed in the actual logic department and I feel like some play testing and proofreading would make it a 4/5
Too many ads
Very interesting principle and a neat variation on other similar games, but too many adverts, too high a subscription price and the puzzles were not quite as rock-solidly definitive as they needed to be - too many situations where there are two possible valid answers and it’s not clear why one is correct and the other is not. I played 13 levels and then deleted it.
Ad removal sucks
The fact you hat to pay 5 bucks a WEEK just to play a few levels without pop up is lame. Just give a permit option for Christ sake- I don’t plan on playing more then a few levels then abandoning it once’s the ads get unbearable because no way that’s a reasonable price yeesh
Could be good
It has the potential to be really good but like all the other reviews say, the categories are way too similar. Then they reply saying they’re going to fix it but haven’t done it! Maybe try actually taking the users feedback!!
Colours
It’s good concept but without the colours like in the ads it’s harder to know what I’ve done and not
