Best app
This is so helpful I your doing your first marathon.🙌
Warning - You can listen during the race, £10 PER race.
The app should tell you this upfront so you know what you’re getting into. I had an issue where mine weren’t playing and when I tried to listen to them back it wouldn’t let me instead it tried charging me £10.
3 marathons - 3rd one had issues but Rally Customer service fixed it.
Updated: 3rd marathon, It showed I had 26 voice notes received. It still says I have 26 voice notes. But it skipped some on my runs and they are missing. Customer service was helpful, retrieved the msgs for me to hear after the run, but didn't get them on the run.
Great but irritating
Loved hearing my messages on race day. Bit annoyed that it was not mentioned anywhere that I would have to pay for the privilege of listening to them again until I tried to do just that! 9.99 is extortionate! I hope that is for unlimited access to future races too
review
make it affordable
AMAZING customer service!
Honestly the best customer service ever! I messaged them on instagram taking a chance to try and request my race to be added to the app. Not only did they message me back to tell me they’d pass along the message, they even wrote me to tell me when it was added. Whoever answered was sure friendly and I couldn’t be more thankful!
Not all voice messages are there
I had 13 out of 13 voice messages from friends and family and only 5 got saved and played. Not worth the 10 dollars. Refund is needed. Not worth the purchase 😡
almost perfect!
I just ran a half marathon using this app and it worked so well! It was so nice to hear the messages from friends and family at every mile and it worked well with my other tracking apps and music. 2 small improvements that would have made it perfect: 1) My half marathon was not on the app and even though I requested it to be added and received an email that it was, I never found it. It had the full marathon of the same day and city, so I used that one and directed people to leave voice notes on the first 13 miles Unfortunately, some people left notes at later miles and because I had finished at 13 miles, I was never able to hear them, in part because of reason 2) the $10 paywall that pops up after you finish your run if you want to download and keep the voice notes forever. it was a)unexpected and b)way too much money! I wish it would’ve let me listen to the notes just one more time after finishing the race including the ones after 13 miles I never got to hear. I get charging for the downloads, but $10 is a bit much. Overall I would recommend this app, but i hope some improvements can be made in the future to make it even better for everyone!
App didn’t work well
Most of the voice messages that played were not loud enough to hear and 1/2 of the recorded messages didn’t play! From what I can see, I have to pay $10 to replay them. It was very disappointing to say the least.
NOT free
Works great for during the race, appreciate that it’s easy to record and family didn’t have to download an app to make the recording. Do not appreciate that there was a surprise fee to relisten to or download messages.
Made a big difference on my run!!
I loooooved this. Used it for my first half marathon and it was so nice. You do have to pay if you want to keep the recordings tho
Didn’t work on all miles
Didn’t work on all miles
Great Idea
Finding out 9.99 to be able to hear them a second time/missed ones or keep them forever. Per race was expensive. A subscription would be easier for those who run many races and hopefully at affordable cost. But I loved hearing family and friends during race
Not all played
Half of the messages didn’t play on the mile marker
Love/hate
I loved the experience, hated that I had to pay $10 to re listen.
Perfect addition
If you’re running a race of any kind this is worth it!! It made every mile that much better
not the best
great idea! however, when it comes to race day it is not so great. I experienced glitches where the voice memos did not play properly then at the end of my race I had to pay $10 to actually hear them for the first time. Feels like a scam.
Great, with 1 flaw
Used this for 2 big races now and I love it! But I really wish there was an option to let people record for every km instead of every mile. The number of people who told me they’d wanted to record a message for me on my marathon but there were no spots left by the time they went to record 😭 Would love to see them add an option for every km.
Fun idea that needs work
I loved the notes I got from this app and it was motivating on race day but actually getting them needs a lot of work. I wish I was able to invite people instead of just sharing a link so that 1) I could send reminders who people I invited to do it 2) limit how many people can leave me. I had to manually remind people and some where so late that all slots were taken because some people took 3-4 slots!
First time Marathoner 🫶🏼
I loved having Rally throughout my OC Marathon run yesterday! It was my first one and having messages of encouragement from my family and friends was exactly what I needed at each mile! I had some issues with my family recording from out of the country, but Rally customer service was super quick in responding, addressing, and resolving the issue. I highly recommend this app!
Didn’t work
They wouldn’t play during my race and when I was finished and tried to figure it out, it wanted $10 to replay the messages.
We’ll see how it goes.
ETA: The voice notes are now showing up! Still no responses from Rally support. I’ll update how it goes after the race tomorrow!
Most phenomenal customer service
I haven’t had the chance to use this during a race yet, but my experience so far has been incredibly positive. I originally set it up about a month ago as a surprise for my son, who was scheduled to run his first marathon on May 3. When I reached out to customer support with questions about setting it up as a surprise, they were quick to respond, helpful, and reassured me they could transfer the race messages to his account before race day. (With a recent update, you can now transfer races directly within the app, which makes it incredibly easy to set up a race as a surprise and then instantly transfer it to the runner.) Unfortunately, he ended up being hospitalized during the race and wasn’t able to run. I contacted customer support again to ask if the messages could be transferred to a future race instead. Once again, they responded promptly and were more than willing to help, letting me know they’ll transfer everything as soon as he signs up for a new race. Even though we haven’t been able to use it yet, the level of support and care they’ve shown has been outstanding. I love the concept of this app and the idea of sending encouraging messages during a race. Based on my experience so far, I can’t say enough good things about both the app and the people behind it.
Doesn’t work properly
I didn’t get to hear all the msgs they are being held hostage by the app
Great App
This app is great. Stumbled across it while on Instagram. I would love however if the app would allow for kilometres to be added rather than miles.
The best
I love this concept
Issue playing notes
For some reason, this is the second time that I tried to use this app as I love what it does. I was looking forward to receiving notes while I was running, but not one played even after I started the race now I’m trying to view the notes and I have to pay 9.99 which is fine. OK, but it is giving me an error and I can’t even pay for it
Such a cute idea but did not work
Like others said - need more instructions prior to race day. I started it and it wouldn’t work and I had to listen after the race. Brilliant idea just a little more direction.
Best idea ever
I found this on instagram from another runner and I absolutely love it
Too many updates
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to listen to any notes for my race due to updates required
Good concept but sadly didn’t work on race day
Was very excited to use this app on Berlin race day but not sure why the app did not work on race day. Wished more thorough instructions were given on the app.
Best customer support
Was having a little trouble with the payment to download my messages but with a quick email to their support team they were able to help me right away!! They were so quick and efficient with the support and I’m so grateful for the help this is such an amazing service if you have a big race coming up!!!
Scammy behavior!
Failed to mention that it’s $10 to download your messages after even though it’s listed as a feature for the “free” app - no mentions of in-app purchases
Great idea but app can be improved
It’s a brilliant idea, but a guide for runners using this for the first time would be helpful. Got all the recordings done but on the day of the race it doesn’t specify to do anything on the app, and when I started it a few hundred metres in the gps didn’t pick up the markers at all, wonder if some instructions on how to set up pre race or allowing people to manually play it during the race easily would be good. Heard it post race and enjoyed it anyway!
THIS APP IS A MUST!
Use this app today for my 10miler and is definitely worth it!! Heard friends and family messages.
Did not work
My friends and family recorded messages for my marathon and it didn’t work during race day. It never recognized where I was. Even after the race, my messages are not there.
