What people like
- Good for meeting serious Christians
- Helpful for finding marriage-minded partners
What they complain about
- Too many fake profiles and scammers
- Subscription price is way too high
- Filters ignore your distance preferences
- App crashes or has bugs often
Good
I am really enjoying
No actual difference to other dating apps
Thought this might be a great dating app but it’s copy/paste of many others, but the reason I really did not enjoy my experience with it be because it just takes your preferences as suggestions and suggests people I have no interest in. Why waste my time with it when other apps actually respect preference filtering. Also, full of old and inactive accounts!
Experiential Knowledge
It has been a good experience for me. Playful jesting to the side and a few failed attempts at marriage along the way I have found Christian Mingle a good place to meet some sisters in Christ and at times learn the hard way together. I love the platform really and would recommend it to anyone whom is truly seeking Christ in their life and wants to make the next step with honouring a woman w marriage out of obedience to the Lord.
Bad in Connecticut
First, they offered $119.99 for premier. When I agreed they charged me $10 more (6% taxes here). Second, the number of people in my area is low so I have had no matches for days, leaving me the only option of choosing a longer travel distance that would exceed what is reasonable (40+ miles). Third, those few people who liked my profile end up being 100+ miles from where I live. Fourth, a suspiciously high number of profiles are filled out with minimal info and that info is almost identical. Are they fake? Does CM know about them?
It’s ok
I think if this is supposed to be a Christian dating app then they should do better in making sure people are actually serious about their faith and not have weird or fake accounts. Why in the world should there be zooks members on this app. They need to filter out or remove accounts that don’t align with Christianity or faith.
Really good to meet Christians
It’s really good to meet Christian’s to ensure we are on the same page to start, like in lifestyle, caring for one another, seeking for the best for all of humanity in the whole world. We believe in a better future for all humanity in peace and love with Jesus Christ as our king and we are all one with our Father God.
Won’t let me upload my pictures to my profile!
Not sure if this is a bug but after I log in and finish setting up my profile, the final step is to upload my pictures to the profile and every time I try to take a selfie or upload from gallery, it takes me to the editor but has no option to upload. If I hit the “x”, it deletes the picture altogether. Please fix this.
Preferences…but not really
The only preference that appears to work is “distance” and I assume it works because I haven’t researched the actual distance some of these women are from me. I contacted customer support and they were not really supportive. Any other app would be a better investment.
Access error
I am trying to use the app, but my profile has been blocked. Please let me know if there is any information I can share that you might need. I believe I enabled location services, completed profile verification, etc. The support page isn't loading.
I love
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Joke
This app is a complete joke just like the rest 💀
Hoping to See Improvements
I am questioning if people I have liked have seen my response. Can there be a way to know if someone is a paid subscriber and can actually see your likes & messages? Like a badge on their profile?
Not sure yet
No one has replied in two weeks
All good. Try it out sometime.
Good.
Can’t create account
Setup me entire account and after uploading photos, tried to hit the continue button at the “take a breath” screen and keep getting the “something went wrong. It’s not you it’s us” message. Fix the bug or take your app down.
Blocked Without Explanation or Appeal
I maintained an account for several months. I had no matches and never exchanged messages with anyone. One day I found my account had been blocked for ‘activity that may not align with our guidelines.’ When I contacted support, they told me their system had detected ‘inconsistencies’ but would not explain what those were and said there is no appeal process. I understand platforms need moderation, but permanently blocking an account without identifying the issue or providing any meaningful review process left me very disappointed.
In 3 days my account was blocked and most men here are AI generated.
I was very disappointed in this site for 3 days they blocked my account. I feel it’s just a waste of money. And most men that will talk to you are AI generated. Not a good site to find a good partner in life.
Improved, but ignores settings
While there are cosmetic improvements to the app from the last time I used it, it is the worst dating app I’ve used. Every time I login I have to re-save my data collection permissions, it ignores the filters I set, it is slow and there are a lot of abandoned profiles. I’m also not convinced that the app actually shows you anyone who liked your profile or show any one you liked your profile, and at nearly $50/ month to find that out for sure and to see my likes is entirely to expensive. Deleting the app and likely will not try it again unless the experience is greatly improved
Great!
Even after paying, this garbage offers absolutely nothing of value. A disgusting scheme exploiting Christians for money. This pathetic excuse for an app has no business being on any App Store. Whoever made his garbage must be some interesting lifeforms living under a rock.
Chatting should be a basic feature
I downloaded this yesterday and I woke up to someone who likes my profile and they left an intro. I couldn’t find a way to respond and honestly I was confused so k was looking it up on google. But then I realized I need a subscription to be able to respond; and I feel like I’m ghosting the guy even though I quite literally just can’t talk to him. Personally I find that ludicrous, the reason you go on a dating app is to find people that you have common ground with, talk to them, and maybe get into a relationship. Do I just have to hope that the person I like also likes me? Or do I just have to hope they have a subscription just so we can maybe chat and it ends up not working out anyway? Genuinely how am I going to expect to meet someone when I can’t even answer their question without paying an absurd amount of money? And even then the subscription doesn’t give you much in the first place. I would be all for a subscription if it gave me more OR was cheaper.
Not good anymore
It’s for people that follow their terms of service.
Low options.
First, the subscription price is $70 a month! That’s insane. You only have that one option for subscription and they don’t offer discounted “bundles” like the use too. You can have the free membership but can’t see who likes you or message with matches, so the free membership is pointless. You can only search in your country.
Ridiculous - no filter by Christian faith
This app once let you filter by your Christian faith and location. It's just impossible now. Even with a platinum subscription, I have to browse hundreds of profiles before finding someone from my own church in my area. Do NOT waste your money. It's not even clear how many of these profiles are legacy profiles. Once you like or pass on someone, there's NO way to see those profiles again - you're forced to keep swiping. There's not even an option for premium members to undo an action or see the profiles they've shortlisted. Utter waste of $. Again, do NOT waste yours.
No Pictures
Nine out of 10 women on this app do not have pictures. I don’t believe it is because they didn’t want to upload. But I think the app has a hard time loading the pictures.
VERY DISAPPOINTED!
I joined Christian Mingle hoping to meet faith-centered, like-minded people, but my experience was incredibly disappointing. I paid $49.99 for a one-month subscription, and within just three days I had exhausted my matches—even after expanding my search area into another state. For a paid dating app, I expected a much larger pool of active members and better value. Instead, I was left waiting days for new matches. Unfortunately, I feel like I wasted my money and will be trying a different dating app. I hope Christian Mingle improves its member base and overall user experience.
Disappointed
I decided to pay for the premium but I will probably cancel when the month is up. I opened up all my filters and still not getting many people in the discover section and basically 0-1 in the recommended when it is suppose to be 10. Feel like I’m paying for something I’m not getting. It will often said me a notification that there is a like but no one is there. Definitely think the app is missing some features especially for an expensive subscription. Don’t spend the money.
Don’t bother!
This review will be sent to a social media & two other orgs I am writing this review after several months of using Christian Mingle, and I am ultimately very disappointed. The primary issue I encountered was the overwhelming number of scammers and fake profiles ("catfish"). It feels like a significant portion of the user base is not genuine, which makes it extremely difficult to connect with real people. Furthermore, the reporting process for these fraudulent accounts is cumbersome and ineffective. Beyond the safety concerns, I also found the platform’s demographic to be quite narrow, lacking the political and social diversity I was hoping to find in a partner. Between the high volume of bots and the lack of quality matches, I do not believe this service is worth the cost of a premium subscription. I would suggest looking elsewhere if you are seeking a serious, safe, and authentic dating experience .
Why does it keep recommending people far away?
I put 39 miles max, and it keeps recommending people who live 3 plus hours away. Why?
