Sellers Proceed With Caution!!
If you are a seller, please be careful. Hidden fees can come back to bite you. 1) Miscalculation of shipping fees is a major culprit. You can set shipping to be calculated automatically based on size and weight, and to be paid by the buyer. But, many times they will under calculate this before the sale, then after purchase, the actual shipping cost can be up to 45% more. Any overage has to be paid by the seller! This comes out of your profit!! 2) You can set a shipping fee ahead of time, then when it comes time to ship, Reverb will suggest a "safe shipping" selection which costs more. Along with that is often a "signature required" selection as well, which both cost more than what you've selected as your original shipping price. This is also, to be paid by the seller. Again this comes out of your profit..... So, please beware!!

Reverb is the absolute best portal for buying music gear and being protected from unscrupulous sellers. Be careful, though. It makes buying guitars so easy you just might develop an addiction.

absolute mess of a platform. selling was difficult and forget it if you have a return they make you PAY FOR THE RETURN LABEL. corporate greed as an app. absolutely horrific the worst experience i’ve ever had on any selling platform. regret ever joining

It’s the big dog. I think the payout rates could be better but stuff moves here and there are always deals to be had so it goes. Grateful for it!
Hard to deal with
I do quite a bit on reverb. I’ve watched this company Go from the best of the best to the worst of the worst over the last five years since they stopped doing phone support because they’re cheap penny pinchers. They also ruined the Mobile app by moving your purchases down below the screen where you can’t even see them anymore. It all used to be nice and concise on a single screen. I get I sent my feedback when they were asking for it during this changeover and they didn’t even listen. Nobody likes the new mobile app. During Covid we were all making money handover fist and they had marketplace integrity specialists flagging everybody’s account for suspension for the littlest stupid things and now they had to layoff half of their staff because people aren’t buying as much gear anymore and you can share your phone number or email without a problem for trading. They didn’t listen to me then and they still don’t listen to me now. Their customer service is horrible. They used to get back to you right away and now you have to submit an email case and wait two days for someone to finally respond and they always decide with the buyer never their sellers who are their bread and butter. I really don’t like this company anymore ever since they sold it to Etsy. It sucks.
Awesome community - Too many fees to sell
1 - Why do I have to go into product detail to remove an item from my watch list? 2 - Why is My Lists a menu item. Bring the two lists inside there to the surface. 3 - Love the illustrations and the readability of the content. 4 - Way too many fees

Bad App Updates… UPDATED 3/7/26
ANOTHER UPDATE, ANOTHER REVIEW: You brainiacs must not like selling things through your iOS apps. Must not have a lot of users…. Newest uptake only loads 4-5 pages of a search and then won’t load anything else. Like nothing. Keep these great updates rolling. UPDATE AGAIN: PLEASE FIX YOUR FREAKING APP!!! SEARCHES DON’T WORK. CONSTANT REPEATING OF ITEMS. I’M ALMOST DONE AND WILL TAKE MY SPENDING ELSE WHERE. LOOK ME UP, I SPEND ON THIS FREAKING APP! FIX IT! MAKE IT WORL. UPDATE: Yep, once again they’re going out of their way to make shopping through the app truly painful. I just want to see the new listings, in order of most recent, in all the categories I want to shop. If you can’t do that, then what is your purpose? I’d take away the one star if I could. — If you plan on listing gear on this app, please be aware that they go out of their way to make it hard to sell your stuff. I shop the “new items” list. They have gone out of their way to make this impossible. It used to be easy to scroll through the new items, now you have to constantly hit a “load more items” button and after several pages it takes minutes to load. So, no looking at those items. Good luck selling!!!
Great Shop, needs to understand lefties
Love the shop, great deals and finds. It doesn’t get 5 stars because all of their “just for you” and “we think you’ll love” recommendations are all right handed guitars. I’m a lefty. Very frustrating. Change the algorithm or make a setting where you can put in that you’re a left handed player. Change that and it would be 5 stars
Cust service is just ok. Fees are ridiculous
I used to be able to Call and speak with a real person at the call center. And the fees were reasonable. Now. Fees are crazy. And customer service is non existent. Too bad
Reverb = mediocre
I truly value reverb as a platform to purchase and sell musical items. Having said that, the fees really need to be lowered, and the company needs to make a concerted focus on removing scammers. *REVERB- Please be the company all musicians can appreciate and respect, rather than just another money-hungry corporation who value profits over the community who keeps it afloat.
Best place to buy gear!
I’ve bought several things on reverb. Banjos and guitars. Have always had a good experience “knock on wood.”
They deserve to go out of business
I went back to eBay after 10 years on reverb. The fees are theft. I would rather give the buyer a $150 discount instead of giving it to reverb. For what? It’s my item I’m selling to another buyer and reverb is the parasite sucking all the profit. Then my account got suspended one full month after my last sale because I owed a fee for “incorrect measurements” so the shipping cost should’ve been more. I OVER measured and OVER weighed, as I always have done for online sales since 2000. UPS accepted my package and it got delivered. One full month after that delivery my account was suspended because they say I owed $3. After the hundreds of dollars in fees I have paid and the successful delivery.
Messaging
I don’t like the messaging format. It should be easy to communicate with sellers without having to make an offer
New layout is terrible
New layout for the homepage is terrible. Instead of having a sections for my feed and then new/local listings, everything is lumped into one giant scrolling section with no ability to customise. Terrible design choice.

Order flaw
They need to fix a bug. When you place an order and you try to split payment, it shows a split payment but then when you send it through, it doesn’t do it. The issue is when using Paypal.
Reliable but expensive for sellers
Their pricing tier is less than ideal and there’s a ton of scammers on there but I’ve been able to buy and sell lots of gear over the years

商品をクレジット決済で購入するも支払い保留中となり現在放置状態。ヘルプページでのAIの回答には初めての購入は確認等に3〜7日かかるとか、、、マジか？なにそれ？ ebayではそんなこと全く無かったのにreverbでは購入するのにも審査待ちとかあるの？ このことをreverbに問い合わせてもまだ回答はありません。なんか対応悪くない？ 対応の早いebayで買えばよかった。
Love the gear, HATE the scams
It's a great platform, easy to use BUT the user verification and attempts to prevent scams or even alert users to best practices for buyers AND sellers is basically non-existent. Anyone can basically post anything unchecked and Reverb's approach seems to be that unless a seller sells and a buyer buys using Reverb's own payment system, then either Paypal miiiight cover it or you're just out of pocket. But of course Reverb get their cut even if YOU get scammed. NO user verification. NO IP location display or tracking. NO suggestion to sellers to post handwritten notes including date+username in gear pics. Why not??

Not sure if this is me not understanding. Where is the search function. Unable to find types of gear as you could in the previous version. I want to look at electric guitars but how do you do it now
Could easily be a LOT better
The app is ok but it could be great. It is difficult to impossible to search locally. It would be great to be able to browse specific categories or all adds in a set radius of home. Also search by price needs changing. A sliding upper and lower price setting as used in other apps instead of $0 to $1000 - $1000 to $2000 etc. I might like to search between $900 to $3000 for Eg. Other similar apps have these features and would have me using reverb a lot more.

Needs more powerful filters
Great eBay for instruments. Haven’t bought or sold yet but often search for interesting instruments and amps on here. Would love it if the filters were more user friendly. Definitely need more options. E.g when setting up a search for an amp would be great to be able to filter by 220-240V or 120V power supplies. Also would be great to search multiple regions or countries at the same time.

Worst place to sell ever
Sent my saxophone accords the country only for Reverb to screw me on shipping because the buyer refused the item out packaging cost also and 2 weeks time

さすが、世界中には驚くほどレアな楽器を所有している方々がいる事が分かる。 見ているだけでワクワクしてくる。 私の他にも、私と同じような想いをレビューしている方がいらっしゃいますが、特に木材を使用している楽器、機材が本当に日本に、手元に届くかどうか不安でとても手が出せたものではない。笑 従って、私にとってこのアプリは検索を掛けて見つけて楽しむ… ただそれだけのアプリに成り下がってしまっている。 アプリ運営側で、まだ何かできる事があるのではないでしょうか？ 世界中の人が、世界中の人達と安心して取引が出来るアプリ、サイトになる事を望んでおります。

Extremely Disappointing Experience
My experience selling on Reverb has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I sold three pieces of musical equipment through the platform, purchased and paid for the shipping labels directly through Reverb, and shipped everything using the measurements and information provided at the time. Now, three to four months later, Reverb suddenly claims that I owe almost $400 in additional shipping-label charges. What makes this even more frustrating is that the measurements I provided match the measurements taken by the carrier when I dropped off the guitar and the other equipment. The packages were measured there, the shipping was accepted, and the labels had already been paid for through the Reverb app. Yet months later, I am being presented with hundreds of dollars in additional charges. I find this completely unacceptable and extremely irresponsible. Sellers should be able to know what they are actually paying when they purchase a shipping label—not receive a surprise bill for nearly $400 months after the transaction is finished. Reverb already collects selling fees and shipping costs, so unexpected charges like this make me seriously question whether I would ever sell through this platform again. At the very least, Reverb should provide clear documentation showing exactly where every additional charge came from and why the original measurements and shipping charges were supposedly incorrect. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Reverb to other sellers. If you sell here, keep screenshots, receipts, package measurements, carrier documentation, and records of absolutely everything, because apparently a completed transaction does not necessarily mean the charges are actually finished.
All good but picture resolution is terrible!
As said in the title, evaluating instruments, with such low res pictures, its a pain. The web page has proper res pictures and would be good to have same quality on the app too. I can’t think of any problem preventing doing so. Because of this I give you guys only 3 stars.
Great website… Great app… Great support
I’ve bought and sold many times on both the app and website. It’s absolutely the best way to buy and sell musical instruments. I had “thought” I found a flaw with the app while searching for gear… I posted an average review of the app and the developer responded… and my problem wasn’t the app, but just me having an erroneous search filter on messing with my search results… ie user error… GREAT APP and GREAT SUPPORT…
FEES ON FEES
Go sell on marketplace or eBay. Reverb has an absurd amount of fees. LOADS OF FEES. Let me give you some: Reverb selling fee, Payment processing fee, Shipping label fee, Bump fee, Sales tax, also not including all the shipping you have to spend at the actual post office. Overall I sold an interface for $460 and all this dropped it to around $330. NOT WORTH IT. Go to fb marketplace.
