BEST NOTE APP EVER!!
A must have app for digital note takers. Easy to setup and organize notebooks. Don’t know how i can not have this app in my life. BEST NOTE APP EVER!
Solid note app
Not bad but notes do tend to stutter and lag after a few pages of writing which is frustrating
Improvements Wanted
So, I tried it out and here is my verdict. All the templates - are you trying to destroy our eyesight? Why, why are the lines so light that I can BARELY see them? Zero stars for that. You will have to change that. Notes - at least here I could pick black for the lines, so that was good. Give us the same option for all your templates. I see potential for this app. But I will hold off for now. Can’t use it if I can’t see it. Good luck.
Love it but it keeps crashing
Love this app but as of recently it has been crashing so much! I keep checking for updates but there have been none available. Is this happening to others? There’s also no app support available, the one offered on the App Store is all in German so idk how to move forward with an inquiry.
Functional and clean
In this day and age it is a delight to find something that simply works as you expect it to. The full version of this app is a one time payment! It has an easy to use, noncrowded interface, good pen controls and shortcuts, good folder organization, and good file importing and exporting. I tried many many apps to find one like this. It’s nice to know there is still functional, useful software being made.
Deteriorating like crazy
Crashes every 5minutes, heats my iPad like crazy and it has become unusable. Do not recommend now.
Almost there!
Love this app but can’t replace current app for one small but crucial feature. Noteful and others allow delete/erase by scratching out. It has become almost the main deciding feature as a non-apple pencil users. Hope to see this soon so I can upgrade and switch over fully. Great work nonetheless!
Good but laggy lines
Good app overall but I notice when I zoom in and write notes the lines are almost laggy and not smooth like when I write with other apps. Fine but makes the writing look more messy and not smooth Wonder if there is a plan to fix the smoothness or lag that is happening when zoomed in to a document
incredible
Absolutely well done UX design but please add the ability to import multiple images as pages at once
Bugged out
Deleted all my lecture notes bruh
Great app
The only note app I use consistently however I have noticed that whenever I use it for more than a few minutes at a time it’ll heat up my iPads top right corner significantly, to the point where it’s noticeably hot when the rest of the iPad is cold to the touch.
Sometimes while writing, it suddenly freezes and no strokes appear. Then, when I start the next stroke, the missing strokes suddenly show up. This significantly impacts the overall user experience, so I’d appreciate your help in resolving it. I’m using an iPad Air 6 and an Apple Pencil Pro.
Almost perfect
A lot of this app is genuinely almost perfect, but my biggest issue is with PDFs. For whatever reason, imported pdfs are almost always formatted incorrect with cut off margins or other errors. This is unfortunately a dealbreaker.
Wonderful and reliable app
The app works wonderfully and is very reliable. Considering how Apple’s notes app doesn’t seem to save my annotations in such a way that I can export them as PDF—even though I’m on the stable version—I am finding myself increasingly using Notedrafts. I would like it if we had more customization in the app, such as being able to customize the squeeze gesture from select to the menu, but it is still very good in its current state.
Curious about a feature
Curious if there is a feature when you can open up a note (or start a new note) on the iPhone and just start typing. Without having to insert a text box. I switched from apples notes which is very good at this. Just curious if there is already something like that on here that I’m missing or if maybe it’s a feature that could be added? I love being able to open a note on my iPhone and start jotting notes down with the keyboard. I’d love to give it more stars because I think it could be a great app with this one feature added.
Great app! Missing one feature
This is a great app and I’m really enjoying how streamlined it is while still maintaining all the necessary features. Please add the feature where when hitting the share button in finder or a different app, Notedrafts comes up as a place to share the PDF to so that you can import files more easily.

Some features to add
I am a 3rd grade teacher and I use this app daily to support my teaching. It is an excellent tool to be able to have a digital notebook to model for my students. I agree with another user on a few features that would make the app even better: 1. Lined paper template in both wide ruled and college rule that closely matches real binder paper. 2. Side by side page view. It would be very helpful to be able to view two pages at once in both landscape and portrait mode. Other than those features, this is the best note taking app. Thank you!!
Loved this app but it crashed & my notes were gone
I initially loved this app—the infinite canvas, dark mode, page layouts, everything. I actually came here to write a very positive review, recommend it to others, and even ask the developer how I could support the project. Unfortunately, my experience took a disappointing turn. I was making notes and was almost done for the night when a sudden glitch occurred, and the entire new note was gone. At first, I thought the app might have crashed, which can happen—but when I reopened it, my notes had completely vanished and were nowhere to be found. I’ve been a GoodNotes user since GoodNotes 4, but after they moved to a subscription model, I started looking for free alternatives and genuinely loved this app. However, after experiencing notes disappearing without warning, I’m no longer confident in relying on it. Additionally, I imported a 2026 calendar PDF with hyperlinks, but the links were not clickable, and the PDF did not load properly. The app felt very slow and sluggish during use. I really wanted this app to work for me, but these issues have made the experience frustrating and unreliable.
Could do with additional features, otherwise it's great!
Great note taking app with a lot of tools! I love the variety of page styles and writing utensils available. However (as a lefty) I find it a little annoying that you can not move a note to the right side of the screen when zooming in. Currently the note automatically centers itself making it difficult for me to do detailed writing on any smaller lines.
Excellent but thermal issues
Hi Notedrafts Team, First off, thank you for building such a powerful and intuitive note-taking app. NoteDrafts has quickly become my favorite tool for handwriting and digital note work — the fluid Apple Pencil experience and feature set are truly best-in-class. However, I’ve noticed a recurring thermal issue while using the app on my iPad Air M2 (13-inch), and wanted to bring it to your attention in case it helps with future performance tuning: ⸻ 🔍 Issue Summary • During handwriting sessions using the Apple Pencil, the iPad becomes noticeably hot near the top (around the camera area). • This heating occurs within 1–2 minutes of writing and reaches temperatures over 110°F (43°C) before cooling down after use. • I’ve tested other apps like GoodNotes, which do not trigger the same heating under identical conditions. • The issue occurs even on blank pages, without charging or background activity. ⸻ 🧪 Device & Conditions • Device: iPad Air M2 (13-inch, 2024) • iPadOS version: 18.4.1 • No background sync, no charging, no external keyboard or case ⸻ This doesn’t seem to affect functionality, but I’m concerned about long-term hardware stress. If it’s helpful, I’d be glad to assist with further testing or diagnostics. Thanks again for your great work — NoteDrafts has huge potential, and I’d love to keep using it with confidence. Warm regards, Karan P.S. Will update the rating once I get a satisfactory response.
Wow
This is a very impressive and easy to use notebook app. I love how it’s designed and how many options it has for different things you can use it for. You can create any notebook imaginable and organize it into categories and folders, add pics and just do all sorts of things if you’re into writing with your pen on your iPad. I love it how it seamlessly syncs with my iPhone where I can see all the notes and memos I wrote on my iPad. If you’re into any type of note taking on your digital device then you should definitely check out this gem of an app.
Difficulty Exporting
Having a lot of issues exporting to PDF or other formats.
Great overall - needs more pencil customization
This app overall is fantastic. I am left desiring more customization regarding pencil settings. I would love squeezing to change to eraser and double tap for other items, but I don’t see this option in app.
Good app potentially ruined by marketing
Just started using the app in the paid version. So far I like it a lot, but I cannot give a high rating to anything that constantly interrupts my workflow with requests for ratings and comment. If this continues, it will render an otherwise nice app unusable for me.
perfect
i love speed of pen but can you increase stability
No option for clicking links
I am using notes in Notesdraft but i cant click my notes pdf link in the notes. in all the apps this function is there. will buy this notes app for sure if this feature is added to notes to click links and setup links jn a pdf to jump in the same notes
Up and comer out of the block
This app has my attention. Flat rate cost for unlimited is really easy. Still needs a bunch of things, but pencil quality is really good. Also seems to have impressive array of tools. Has better brush options (and quality) than all but serious artist toolboxes. Looking forward to seeing whee this goes. Expecting to drop the $7.99 just to support the dev.
Overhyped
Other Apps, some of which are completely free provide more features thsn this app. this one is overhyped app. no tect converter, no smart dark mode, no pencil, difficult navigation.
Somehow I cannot sync to iCloud?
Great app BTW
Supercharged Physical Notebook
Like many, I’ve used them all. This app is the closest to a real Moleskin / physical notebook in that the UI gets out of the way and you focus on the page. The page, though, has superpowers: huge canvas, templates, elegant writing and sketching tools… Developer is super engaged with the community and seems to be making rapid progress. Data is in your iCloud.
Missing HUGE Basic Key Feature
Read a review that talked this app up as great alternative to Apple Notes, Goodnotes etc. I use both and have tried all the others so I was excited to try this one… and yes I like it and see what all the hype is … BUT I mainly “type” my notes and occasionally use my pencil on the iPad. On iPhone I only type. So where is the Text Tool???? Such basic functionality not there? I’m I missing something?
Newbie here great app
I’ve barely started using the pro version and I’m already very impressed. It is certainly worth $5 and I’m sure I’ll be happy to upgrade! Love that it gives me a chance to keep paying!
Crashing and loosing notes
I am creating my notes in iCloud instead of on the device so that they can be accessible from other devices. Just taking single hand writing note just crashed the app. When re-opening the notebook became empty. The note did not even contain a one page content.
Ooh!!
I really like this app so far, I appreciate a ton of the functionalities it has. Please please please add the option to edit the taskbar with whatever pencils we’d like though, and adding the option to swipe vertically on PDFs would be wonderful! 🥹
Great and simple
Does exactly as advertised, the notes without any of the garbage
Keeps crashing
Crashes on startup most of the time and if you do get in you get hit with upgrade to premium straight away
Option to type in the notes
The app looks good and i guess i am not the right audience for this because i am unable to type in the notes, will that be added in the future? Just like apple notes?
Good start but missing necessary features
Great app, better than collanotes but missing search and audio recording functions
