Amazing!
There are some reviews complaining about the login and some features but I think you have to understand that this is the “real” mercari, in the sense that you get to explore what they are actually listing in Japan. The American Mercari has always been separate from the original, with listings from Japan very minimal. You’ll have to make a separate account to use this, but it’ll open you to a whole new world of listings! The shipping and customs are unfortunately pricey, but they’ve been giving out a lot of coupons lately which helps out a lot. As for offers/communication with sellers, I think they keep it off to minimize confusion and issues. It sounds a little ironic, especially if you need to ask for more measurements/pictures/etc, but most people have been very detailed in their listings. I’ve bought an item last month and the process went by very smoothly, with it being shipped to me a whole week before the estimated date!
Horrible fees
The app is hard to use. Search result seems come out bad due to translation. The shipping and fees are ridiculous. Time to wait for shipping is also extremely long. Not worth the hassle to use it.
Nice
Makes it easier to buy stuff from mercaris japan version ! My only issue is the way they calculate shipping,.,.,..,I understand that tariffs can make shipping imported items quite expensive, but it really does feel as though they’re calculating some of this stuff properly…..!

Customer service that makes your blood boil
In general, the app is easy to use. However, don’t expect great customer service. They ask for the same photos again and again, videos of all different angles and many repeats. Then, because they can’t see the difference, they do not issue a refund, even though I have presented clear evidence that the buyer has sold me fake items. Never buy expensive items from Mercari.

I might be the only person in the reviews who genuinely liked this app. Everything was simple and easy to use. I ordered stuff and they arrived in like a month! Great place to buy figures

I honestly really love this app! I've bought 2 things so far and they've come in about 2 weeks time and packaged nicely. However, it still does have it's problems or new things to navigate unlike regular mercari. I sometimes struggle to search things up (I'm assuming because of how they translate in to Japanese) and shipping was a little confusing to me and didn't update when it should have. For example, I've gotten both of my packages but it only says one has been delivered and hasn't updated since. Overall, I think the app just needs to be worked on and updated some more. Would recommend! ♡

更新APP 後出現問題
已完成更新APP , 但開啟App 後， 仍出現顯示要求去更新相關APP
註冊完無法登入，卡在死胡同
手機註冊完要去 Email 點擊連結，並且輸入驗證碼，輸入完以後顯示已驗證成功什麼的，然後切回 App 並沒有登入，反覆嘗試幾次都沒用，用過上百個 App，第一次遇到註冊介面都難用的⋯⋯^_^
The reviewers see stupid
Genuinely I read the reviews and that’s why I didn’t get it, but then I folded and I read the disclaimer when logging in and my god it says right there that your account for the OG Mercari app will not work. This app is great and works great, the reviewers are dumb af and you just need to make a new account.

No I’m not spending a extra 60 dollars for shipping and “handling” on a 15 dollar item this is ridiculous and robbery I thought finally found the perfect app for getting figures and manga sets untill I get slapped with a 60+ dollar bill for a fifteen dollar item what a joke pricing I’ll probably find some better shipping options through OTHER apps this is NAWT the one..
Good App but holy fees!!!!!
Min $37.65 marketplace fee makes me never buy the item. Not including shipping or possible duties or import fees btw!!!!! Not paying more market fees than the item itself. Greedy greedy, there’s also an 5% item price increase on by default too, so like… Holy. Misleading coupons too, “50% off” and it’s for the shipping, actually. Look even closer and it’s up to 500 yen. Who do you think I am.????? Who pays that much?!?!
Great Alternative to Using a Proxy (needs a bit more refinement).
The app is intuitive and makes purchasing items from Japan surprisingly straightforward. My only real complaint is that the search filters can be unreliable. Occasionally, applying filters causes the results to stall, forcing you to refresh the page before they load properly. Aside from that minor frustration, my overall experience has been very positive. I still prefer using a proxy service when buying from Japan, but for anyone looking for a simpler, more direct option, this app is an excellent alternative.

The app was easy to use and buy from, the only issue worth noting is that the search feature could use some revamping to make looking for items similar to your search easier rather than having to provide exact titles

Since this is an app for users to sell 2nd hand items it seems logical for it to have a comment section like the other mercari so the buyers can price negotiate. Some sellers offer discounts for bundles yet the buyers can’t even comment on the item post for the bundle. Not only that but there’s only one shipping option unfortunately which is expensive even though I live on the coast. The marketplace fees are OUTRAGEOUS, makes me never even consider of buying anything especially with EVEN MORE fees on top of that. I also had such a horrible experience trying to make an account no way should it be so troublesome to make an account in general it’s 2026 cmon

i understand you have to make a new account separate to your US mercari account but it won’t let me sign up to make a new account? it keeps saying there is an error or it just redirects me to the same form i’ve filled out multiple times. hopefully i can get this figured out soon

Can’t Log In!
Consistently fails when attempting to log in. The help/contact us sends a would be user through a loop that sends you back to the beginning of your inquiry. I.T. Personnel that constructed this app need to be trained properly and if they fail again in the next update patch, FIRE THEM!! Too many problems since the launch of this app! I know their corporate office gotta be really frustrated! I’m in college and conducting a research paper on digital media; Mercari and this app will mention this bad experience.
