Issue with the microphone
I’m using the app to learn french. When having a dialogue with the tutor, my responses are not transcribed correctly, whatever answer I give it transcribes it like the phrase “Bon jour”. Even if I get very close to the microphone, it keeps happening. I deleted the app and it keeps happening. This is very frustrating.

Voice recognition problem and slow and unreliable server connection
I paid 40$ for this app. It is very frustrating in distinguishing your voice which is very essential for a language education app. It also disconnects multiple times from its sever and even when it connects, it is very slow to recognize your sentences. I don’t recommend it.

Been using this to learn French and I found it actually quite helpful! Compared to most language apps this does a really good job to learn speaking, listening AND grammar together and some related usage. I enjoy it hope it can have Spanish class soon!

I’m learning French, already in A2 level with other institutes. My advice: first AI instructor was Emma, apparently she thought differently abt I wanted to learn ordering at a restaurant, she insisted I’d to take another topic, I almost wanted to say “who’s the boss?” Then the 2nd AI instructor Jasper, I thought he needed to learn how to pronounce French correctly, as he pronounced “voudrais”, sounded no different than English, which I just couldn’t believe, smh

Today is my first day with Lingo AI and the more I use it, the more bugs and “odd” sentences that don’t make sense. I was disappointed that the highlighted cartoons giving French lessons in ads for the app are limited. There are a total of 4. The others videos are just a photo with a highlighted dialogue. It looks as if they are still working on it. The good news is I am enjoying the AI tutor, when it makes sense, and the corrections. Hoping the app continues to improve!! Unfortunately, it appears that every AI language app has this bugs right now. Sigh

If you want to to learn French in an English accent, this is a good app. It will teach you all the incorrect pronunciations

It is scam
I only used the one-day free trial to see whether the app worked for me. After that, I canceled my subscription. Now I’ve been charged anyway. The app doesn’t even show as an active subscription in my Apple subscriptions. How can I be charged after a free trial that I canceled?

Today’s lesson, with proper translation, the voice recognition was really acting up. I used the word “prende” and the program relayed pont, which was wrong. Very frustrating.

I like the structure of the app, but it does not “hear” as well as others I have used.
AI tutor that can’t speak
I don’t understand why this app has such a high rating. The “AI Tutor” doesn’t actually talk — it only communicates through text. If the goal is to practice listening and speaking, this app doesn’t help. You can only practice reading. Also, the tutor has an animated face that moves but never says anything, which feels very strange. Maybe something is wrong with my version, but if not, this feature is very misleading.

The worst AI for languages
The AI speaks awful English and I am learning French. The AI tells me to repeat, I repeat and she writes something completely different of what I have said. I speak some French so it is not the pronunciation. The system has a big problem. Find another AI

Disappearing text
Before I can even read the suggestions, it automatically scrolls up on its own, and I have to work very hard to saying Secondly, the advertisement led me to believe the conversation conversations would be animated, but they’re not. Even the AI is very poor
Cannot handle single syllable words
The main problem here is they have done nothing to mitigate the problem of the AI not having enough context to understand single syllable words. They build in single word repetition at the beginning of many early lessons. This results in lots of frustration, and many times you either have to choose skip - which is inconsistently available - or deliberately mispronounce the word. Eg in French, pronounce the final consonant, even if incorrect.
