What people like
- Generous free currency and pity system
- Story feels like a true Persona game
- Character designs look really cool
- Fair for free-to-play players to enjoy
What they complain about
- Global players get far fewer rewards
- Game crashes frequently on mobile devices
- Download takes up huge storage space
- Events are too time-consuming and grindy
I never knew it was possible!!!
A mobile persona game that’s legit?! You guys are amazing for giving us this for free. With so much content? What did we do to deserve thissssss. Stellar character designs and story too!
Female MC
Really bummed they don’t have a female MC option..again.
Good game
Good game W Miku
MIKU
I PULLED MIKU WHILE IN CALL WITH FRIENDS I WANT MORE MIKUS NOW
A problem
I like the game but at the recourses download it stops and it doesn’t say anything at 26%
Review
It’s improving more but I’m hopping that the console port is still being developed as I would prefer to play on that rather than a phone
.
borderline unplayable, just crashed like 10 times in one fight. events are also very low effort cashgrabs now
Unlucky
Got Miku with pitty. The pitty is great but getting to it is terrible
Merci.
To many updates
So I love the persona games I think they are the best but with this game it’s nothing but download this content then you get past the download and play 10 or 15 minutes of gameplay then it says download this then it’s the same thing over and over again
love this game
Perfect addition for to the franchise
The Miku update was so bad.
1 cutscene??? no explanation of why miku is there. no concert? nothing? just a stupid rhythm game we’ve had since the beginning. literally the worst collab ever.
I got Miku
Miku
bothersome
required constant internet connection. I don't get the logic: I just want to play a videogame, I hate being always connected. Had I known, I would not even have installed it. I'd give 1 star, however 2 just because it's a Persona game
Good for mobile
This game is fire tho it is a little glitchy and buggy but I don’t expect much from a mobile game but this is still a really good game and the amount of storage it takes is really bad
Thank you
I got my wives. RUNA and some other girlies
Horrible Maintenance
How is your maintenance 9 hours long for content that exist on other servers, and still have to add 3 extra hours of maintenance because there was somehow a mistake. Worst dev team ever.
It’s ok
It’s fun and I like the characters the first two parts of the story are really bad though. They act like shoving someone over is a super awful and heinous crime and the second one is just sound chef with an awful haircut. not at good as other persona games but it’s not terrible I’m having fun playing through it also they added some persona 3 characters and miku which is pretty cool they just gotta add fuuka and chie now and it’ll be great. also the mc is basically a part 8 Jojo’s reference because his code name is wonder like wonder of u and his all out attack says go beyond like soft and wet go beyond
No female MC
Definitely a great turn-based RPG with excellent design living up to the franchise BUT 1/ difficulty grows faster that I can level up characters 2/ no choice of female protagonist which should be a given in f2p today 3/ impossible to remove the male MC from the party so no female-only party which also should be a basic right
about the miku update in particular
the rhythm game featured in the miku update is very bad as sometimes tapping a note doesn’t register even if i hit the note. i know the update isn’t staying forever but the fact that the minigame which is probably one of the central focuses in the event is very bad in terms of touch sensitivity annoys me as i really enjoy playing rhythm games most of the time! the absence of “bad” note hits is also kinda weird to me as instead of getting told that hitting it too early is bad i just get told i missed the note entirely even though the reason of it was because i tapped it too early and not because i didn’t tap it. overall i think that the minigame needs to have the touch sensitivity fixed as its too finicky and sometimes doesn’t register taps/holds in terms of the actual game i don’t play it too much as i just don’t think the persona gameplay works well in a game like this though thats just what i think
A stunning game that doesn’t deserve the criticism
Let me start this review off like this: I’m a chronically online, diehard Persona fan. I know I’m most certainly biased to the hundredth degree, but just hear me out. With that said… This game’s honestly undeserving of all the criticism. Sure, the pity system’s not the best, but the rewards are plentiful enough that you’ll be able to pull whoever you want. The devs bent over backwards when this game was criticized at launch to compensate all the players handsomely. You can even get outfits with standard pull currency. That’s unheard of. Sure, the devs want you to spend money on the game, but you can still be a F2P if you want. I am! You just won’t get everything all at once. The game’s a worthy addition to the Persona franchise, and whenever I boot it up, it feels like a happy reunion in the Sea of Souls. That’s all I have to say. Thank you.
Some Improvements, Some Missteps
Tartarus is not a good mode and made me realize what units are not worth pulling for like Yukari. Or the bosses are just hp tanks. Tycoon remains poorly supported and not updated. Adding non-Persona characters like Miku is not it. The Persona fanbase tends to skew antisocial and immature whoch doesn’t help
Love it! However…
I think P5X is fun and really captures the Persona spirit! Anyone who doesn’t care for it just hasn’t spent enough time playing. However… This pity system has to be the worst I’ve seen. Almost every banner I have to hit max pity before I get the character. It’s super discouraging and getting awareness for characters feels impossible if they’re not standard.
Please fix the global release
You still have a chance, the players and the community is here, just please give us some love and your game will work well!!
Not as good as the actual persona games but still decent
Like the title says this game is decent but it’s not as good as the actual persona games. The characters could be developed more but of course we don’t experience them over a story that is over a hundred hours like the actual games. The character designs are really cool though especially the female characters. The developers also give more rewards to the players in the Asia version of this game (yes this is true look it up this how the western version basically immediately died as soon as it released) the game also feels poorly optimized as it crashes frequently for me even though I don’t have a lot of apps downloaded and my storage isn’t full. The lag is also insane even if you have a good internet connection. Overall 6.5/10.
P5X
I’m loving it I enjoy playing it every day I hope I can be able to enjoy the game play more and more.
Ridiculous
According to the support team forced story progression when you don’t have the time to play is acceptable and the game working as intended.
Updated review
This FTP game has turned out to be better than others. Something amazing was when I came back after being off for a month, it let me claim the daily rewards that you are sent notifications of when you don't pick them up, and a two week event where I got bonus currency and Contract tokens. Honestly, I have felt the least amount of need to buy things from this game than any other, so I have made one IA purchase as thanks for how they designed this.
Greedy sega
Global server has multiple toxic issues which go against the player
keeps crashing
i enjoy the game a lot but it keeps crashing on me. i have an iphone 13 and it does take up a lot of my storage so im assuming thats why but it still extremely annoying
Bearsona!
Such a game
Waste of time
Was my favorite phone game ever until they deleted my account and I was already on the 2nd palace boss battle. So thanks whoever deleted my account and now I refuse to grind again knowing I won’t get the same characters I had unlocked before.
Pretty Solid
Typical gacha game. Solid overall and not super P2W. Only complaint is how far back we are compared to the Korean and Chinese versions in terms of content.
Global
Initially excited about the global release, 2 weeks in and experience is being gate kept by corporate greed. No pity system less rewards compared to other regions and more disadvantages just for the opportunity to make more money
It’s ok
Go play P5R instead
This game is great, it’s very enjoyable
The story is a little extended and stuff, but I still enjoy it, I’m big into gacha games so this is my cup of tea, the characters are cool, and I enjoy that there’s characters from not only P5, but P3 too, just waiting for the P4 collab now… great game!
another disappointing gacha game
by the time you get to final phase of boss fight the game is barely running on your phone. forcing party members that don’t fit with your composition to force you to invest in other characters and resources you don’t want. and worst of all, a max action limit on boss fights because they don’t know how to design them properly. thats on top of a forgettable story filled with annoying characters. overall an awful experience you’d best avoid.
Not bad
Really long downloads. Make it offline aswell 🥀
Greedy
Such greed even for a gacha has made this game completely unenjoyable
First Meh Persona
I mean it’s just Persona 5 but worse which is still good and nice that it’s on mobile but Atlus optimize the storage, takes up like 20 Gigs after the initial 3
Good game
Good game 👍
Not worth your time
Character runs too fast, not enough resourses to pull with the accelerated runs. Story too boring to keep interest. A far cry from the full fledged game. Play P5Royale or P5Strikers instead.
Needs better leveling ip System
Basically it a cool mobile game but levelling up can be really hard sometimes
Greed
The gameplay is enjoyable but dampened by extreme greed on the part of the publisher, we get less free pulls than other regions for no discernible reason other than greed.
Decent Persona Spinoff
I mean it’s just more of Persona 5 but arguably worse. Gacha mechanics are annoying and also 3 GB download but like 16 GB more stuff to download which really sucks. I’d just recommend you go buy an actual Persona game if you really wanna get into the series, but otherwise if you’re casual it’s fine.
Mahoragas lemon
Ion know, i got miku, 10/10
The game is no longer fun
They have continued to pile on meaningless content for events, which are mind numbingly time consuming and overly difficult so it’s now P2W if you simply want to complete a timed event. Despite my account having most of the 5-star characters at level 80 and 3-4 star weapons at 80, max skills and revelations, it’s still not enough to clear some of the event stages on the hardest difficulty. These events are weeks long of doing the same mundane tasks just to wait for the next part of the main story (eg. Fight an event boss 35 times??? Play some stupid card game 50 times???). When the game started, one story arc was two parts and you had to wait awhile for the second part. Now it’s three parts, and each part takes the developers a long time to release so they fill you with these stupid events. No longer fun and has become way too time consuming. While Asia servers have redemption codes and more rewards, Global still lacks the ability for redemption codes. The game had close to 5.0 ratings when it launched and for the first few months, now sitting at 3.8 ratings. It’s clear that Sega has ruined this game.
Love persona but..
Its ridiculous on the amount of rewards compared to CN (China) and the Global servers very lackluster and we havent gotten any codes either? Also allegedly no new standard banner units and this version only added a boss fight to the story which should have already been out
Global players are getting worse rewards
Pretty wild how on the global release we’re getting 5x fewer rewards than the CN server AND accelerated banners! It’s a great game, but let’s not pretend that Sega aren’t being greedy as hell here. I was tempted to get a monthly pass but have since rethought that decision.
Technically Fine but Deeply Disappointing
Persona has been one of my favourite series for years. Persona 2 is narratively my favourite duologies of all time and I loved playing all the other games in the series. However this game feels like a massive regression for the gameplay and a waste for Persona’s narrative potential. I have more small complaints but even if they were solved this game feels like a waste of time, 3/5.
