Wow this is a great game but I wish that the dragons weren’t so much me and my grandma play this together and I like how you don’t have to be on it all day I highly recommend if you don’t have this game you should try it out right now!!
Very pay-demanding gameplay
After about 10 minutes of “free” play and achieving a certain low level for dragons the gameplay slows down significantly unless you pay. It ended up with once a day of the actual game activity for 2-3 minutes to start resources collection and then wait time (unless purchasing more tokens) for the rest of the day. Not worth it if you are not planning to invest tons of money in just raising your dragons and collect resources.

Dropping yet another star for this because I’ve discovered that, along with the bothersome audio issues, this game is nearly unplayable now. It looks fine, till you start needing 150,000 wood to build one thing or 10,00,000 fish to level up one dragon. Not to mention you gotta wait hours, sometimes half a day or more to do things. Oh and there’s the fact that EVERYTHING REQUIRES RUNES, and those are A, hard to come by, and B, run out absurdly quick. Of course, paying with real money is an option, but I’m not wasting a cent of my hard earned cash on pixelated dragons. Then there’s the brawls, which have gotten so unbalanced it’s comical. I just played a round against a team that that one of my dragon species on it, and this dragon, despite being an entire 2 levels below mine, WIPED THE FLOOR with my team in under 2 minutes. Explain how this is supposed to work, Ludia. I expect to get a response along the lines of “we’ll send this to our support team”. Don’t expect y’all to actually FIX these issues though.

If u like (or love) how to train your dragon this game will not disappoint u I promise I’ve been a fan of it for… I wanna say around 5 yrs now and I’m still going pretty strong! But one thing, WHY IS IT SO HARD TO LVL UP TOOTHLESS AND I WANT LIGHT FURY I cant get her even tho I rlly rlly want to ☹️ oh well but I want the blue alpha toothless so bad but I can’t get it bc toothless is lvl 30 rn and he needs to be lvl 52 to unlock that costume but idk bc I’ve never gotten that high up bc the game keeps accidentally deleting itself. That’s like the only downside but I do wish I could get all the live action characters without buying the card pack and Ludia can you please make it easier to get Legendary Dragons? Remove the ads limit reached and put one ads only
Every time I do the daily duties and weekly duties it gives me two ads and it stop on the first one and it doesn’t give me nothing. You need to fixed this and remove the ad limit reached and put one ads only
Open world game
I love this game, but I think it would be so much better if it was an open world game where the player can ride a dragon and go to different regions and islands, instead of just clicking buttons and not really having much interaction with the dragons. I believe this would make it a five star experience and would be even more immersive. I think that there should be more games that are HTTYD and allow for an open world game ever since School of Dragons discontinued on Mobile. Please take this into consideration in the next update. I know it’s a big ask but I would ABSOLUTELY love to see this happen. Overall it is a very good game

This is a pretty neat game with lots of dragons from the shows and the movies yadda yadda but my brother stopped playing it for a few weeks and found that it restarted two months of progress INCLUDING a dragon he paid like 20 dollars for! So its a neat game but it has its ups and downs.
Great game, but…
Hey, Ludia! I’ve been playing this game for years and I absolutely love it! It’s super fun and a great way to pass the time. However I just picked up the game after a little while and I went to play Brawl, but the opponents seem so much more difficult to beat than before. I completely understand that you win some battles and lose others, but I’ve been playing Brawl for at least two hours today and I’ve only won two battles out of countless others. The opposing dragons seem so powerful and seem to evade at least every third attack I throw at them. The game never used to be this way and I’m getting a little frustrated ☹️ I’ve tried changing my dragons levels and types, even my battle strategy, but nothing seems to work. Is there anything anyone can do to ease up the difficulty of Brawl, even just a little?
Ludia is awful
Game is fun but increasingly a cash grab by Ludia. Everything is pay walled and the app support system is a bad joke. Expect to be funneled in circles by a bot and to wait forever to actually get help. Been playing for a long time but can’t stand how terrible the user experience has gotten. 1/10.

There is an ad that I cannot press to get out of it, it just remains numb every time I have enough time to get out of it but can’t, and the slot for watching it is not counted whenever I reload the game, what a waste of time.
Honest review
The game is a great game has a lot of potential but some aspects just suck for example how much pay to win there is in this game like the dragon riders club it’s so expensive even the cheaper side for 10$ a month is just so expensive. I really enjoyed playing this game all the way up until the started shoving pay exclusive dragons and other things in my face and don’t get my started on the long timers.. I get eggs hatching for hours or days even that’s realistic okay but like the buildings and training for hours/days that’s unfair and the game is practically begging you to pay to skip the timer.

loading issue
for some reason, i can’t get into the game, it freezes whenever i try and it only ever happens with rise of berk. it just stops loading on the loading screen. i cant access the game. please help

Mildly confusing
The first time i got it i had absolutely no idea what i was doing and eventually deleted it and now it’s randomly turned up on a different device but I never downloaded it a second time and its a bit confusing im not saying other people won’t like it im just saying that I don’t like it don’t let that stop you from trying it though
Stop removing events before they are done!
I’m really getting tired of you people removing the events before the time on them are finished. There was 3 days left yesterday and I log in today and the event is gone and I was almost to the card pack. It’s rally scummy to do that. The only reason you’re getting 3 stars is the dragons are fun to collect. That’s all you have to offer in this game. Every single thing is paid.

Disappointed
I’ve been playing this game for years and absolutely loved it however for quite a few months the app wont let me onto the game at all, just says server issues even tho nothing has changed, very disappointed I’ve spent hours and money on this app for it just to stop working
Glitched update
I have been playing this game for a while and love it. The newest update has a glitch where it will not log the player in. Not sure when this will be fixed but hopefully soon so I can get the daily log in rewards and the time events. Also I have been trying to watch the videos for the last 2 months but they haven’t been working ending up with it kicking me out of the game.

PLEASE Help Your Players
I know this is probably a shot in the dark and the developers will probably never see this but I told myself that it’s better to speak out than to never say anything at all…I love this game but there is a huge problem when it comes to the obscene time wall behind EVERY single thing that you do in this game. Whether it’s resources, building huts, gathering iron, training dragons, unlocking packs, etc. there is a time wall of HOURS that it takes you to simply play the game. Again I love the game and I want to play more of it but I can’t do that if everything is locked behind hours or even DAYS of waiting. And if I don’t want to wait behind the time wall then there’s a pay wall but that’s a completely separate thing for a completely separate review. All I’m saying devs is that for the fans of the game who really enjoy the game and want to play it more please don’t continue to punish them by making them wait to simply enjoy the game that they’ve put so much of their TIME into. Thank you and I really hope someone reads this and makes some changes at the higher level. Good luck guys.

So this is honestly a really good game, but I came back after not playing for a year roughly, and find out that Brawls are different. And different for the worst. I get put against opponents that have grades 6-8 while I have one grade 6 and then the rest are 3 or less. And then I don’t know what happened but all my grades got dropped horribly. My champion went from grade 9 to grade 2. It’s getting frustrating and it’s taking the fun out of it, can’t even advance in that sense. But everything else cancels it, therefore the 3 stars.
I love it!
I love httyd, ever since I was a kid. I watch the tv series and play this game along side it. it is such a comforting feeling doing both. I do however have some thing that I would like changed and would make the game even more enticing. One is making the dragons more interactive, being able to ride or take care of them would be really cool as well as changing and personalizing colors on the common dragons since they do all come in different colors. Second, having more space to actually decorate and place dragons not in the hanger, making it more interactive and being able to walk around the village and into stores instead of tapping a button On top of that lastly and most importantly, I would love for there to be packs that I can buy with ruins and not just real money. I spend a lot of money on this game and would love to actually use some of the resources i actually have in the game to open those packs. Because they are extremely fun to open That’s all the feedback I have but thank you so much for keeping this game alive it truly is the highlight of my nights.

This game is so good! But I wish I didn’t have to pay for the light fury. I used to have this membership on my old account (I lost it,whoops😭😔). This is such a good game! I love how you made it easier to get stormfly because back in my day (when I started playing) it was a lot harder to get stormfly. Overall great game!

I accidentally deleted your app in the past and got it back, then I lost the account so I started over. You guys have made it so much better since I deleted it. I used to have low stuff, now I have it all back AND upgraded. You guys have added so many dragons, and now we have 2 new legendary dragons! This game never lets me down, and I will play this until it dies. But enough of that, let’s talk about the game! Build your own Berk and raise your dragons. Get legendary dragons to get free things by exploring with them. Go on journeys and explorations with toothless and the gang. Unlock all the dragons from the movies, shows, and other games with it! Make a dragon empire, and show your friends! I definitely recommend this game ❤️

All my work gone
I re-downloaded the game after a while of deleting and all the progress I’d ever done was gone, it made me start from scratch. I’m never playing this again until I get my progress back which I probably will never get back

Dreadful brawl update
Have always loved this game but the new brawl update is bonkers and makes it utterly miserable to play brawls which infuriatingly is required everyday/week and season as part of the duties. Without even discussing the sudden drop in levels and how many trophies you now lose for a defeat…but mainly the abilities of the opponent dragons compared to my dragons now just feels totally incomparable. Level 10 opponent dragons are now constantly trouncing my level 12 dragons, they get extra turns, more evading. You don’t feel you stand a fair chance at all which makes it frustrating and unenjoyable.

You have to do fighting against level 10 times above yours. After changing the members level. Playing became stress and not professional. Brawls became idiot , after playing long time it became really rubbish

So after nearly 11 years of playing this game on and off, I’ve somewhat hit a roadblock. Lvl175 toothless, 654/803 dragons collected, and I’ve just reached a point where any progress takes days, if not months if you’re exploring for an exclusive dragon. Not to mention levelling up a single dragon (depending on the dragon) past lvl125 can take a full day of grinding for resources and then another full day to train. I’m currently at the stage where I need 100 lvl125 dragons to upgrade my great hall and I feel like I’ll die of old age before I reach that point. Not to mention graphics or the interface of the game just haven’t changed in those 11 years from what I can remember. Which I understand on some level with the whole memory issue on phones but at the same time, this isn’t the mid 2010’s where 256gb of storage was the highest amount of storage for phones and they can often handle a lot more of a beating now for their internal processors and chips. I feel like there should be an option where users can opt in or out of having a higher resolution game instead of being stuck with models that look like they’re from the era the game was originally built. I’ve got it set to high right now and I honestly can’t tell much of a difference between high and low when looking at all my dragons on berk. This game is also just a serious cash grab like my god. $50 for a pack of cards to get a SINGLE live action dragon? Eek no thanks 😭
Why this game is so spectacular
First off it’s original second I just love playing it. It’s cool that there’s a lot of unique dragons and and it’s also friendly for free to play players which that’s also a plus and the graphics are so good
Dreadful since latest brawl update
I used to love this game, but it is now pretty unplayable since the most recent update. Today’s daily duties included ‘defeat 5 dragons’ ‘open 2 token packs” and ‘defeat 3 furious dragons’. Before this would have been a fun challenge….now it is pretty impossible! I’ve done 9 brawls so far…not one a single one and 6 times my level 12 dragons have all been defeated before I have been able to take out a single one of the computers level 10 dragons. It is the same high functioning dragons that aren’t available yet even with Toothless at level 112. You no longer feel on a level playing field and when it affects so many of the daily/weekly/monthly duties then it feels pointless and is zapping all the fun from the game. No adequate explanation for why this has changed. And don’t forget if ever it looks like you might come close to winning the opponents team will either manage to evade the next 3 strikes or suddenly get 2 turns to each one of yours and this is regardless of ‘speed’! A response would be appreciated.

It’s a pretty good game, but the recent update…
This game is fun, I play it quite a bit and there are lots of things to do. It does push pretty hard for some really expensive purchases all the time ($62 for ‘grand alpha premium pass’? Not even a permanent thing?) but they can be ignored. Despite that it is actually easy enough to be completely f2p as long as you don’t mind a bit of a grind, especially as you aren’t competing with other players. There is a subscription that I would say is worth it depending on how much you play, but it is definitely leaning towards being too expensive for a mobile game. What’s made me rate this two stars is the most recent update. Usually I’d have put this game at 4 stars (mostly because of how much it pushes you to spend money, as well as a few smaller things like only being able to hatch a max of three eggs at once) but the addition of making the mail expire is, to put it lightly, annoying. Usually as you go through the game you get to unlock card packs every 6 hours that give you recourses, there’s also other card pack to open for various other reasons wether they be from quests, journeys, etc. But when your storage for fish, wood and iron become full, any resources from these card packs get put in your mail to claim later when needed. With this new update, that mail now has an expiry date you will just lose those resources instead of being able to use them. Given how long some of the wait times in this game are there can be days or even longer between when you get the chance to use a good chunk of these resources, so the fact that they’ll just be trashed now when enough time has past is extremely exasperating. Not to mention the red bar with the timer only adds more clutter to the mail. This game is already extremely money hungry and I’m willing to put up with that, but adding perishable resources under the guise of “optimization” is just ridiculous. I’ll stick with the game albeit wearily, but I wouldn’t recommend picking up this game until this mechanic is removed.
