Overall good for monitoring depression score, the self-help section could be better, a portion of the information is unreadable because the button that you have to click to move to the next page covers some of the information so you can’t read all of it. It would be nice to use the CBT section, but it’s pointless without being able to read all of it.

Handy app except for one thing: A notes area under each question would be HUGELY helpful for adding context, examples, etc.

this test is not helpful and confusing because it only gives the options “not at all” and “several days” and then more frequently than that. so there is not anything between “not at all” and “several days.” i only had trouble sleeping one night. so how can i answer these questions?

A lot of bugs I think happened, it was very slow for me and all my other apps work fine and then then the done button wouldn’t appear after I had submitted an answer

Too glitchy
I just downloaded the app but it’s barely functional. The text overlaps itself and the “Next” buttons cover up a lot of the text. I have no idea what the full questions are because I can’t see the full text. Sounded like the app had potential but no one wants tech issues in the middle of a crisis.

Good idea but there are glitches
I love would to use the app more but there glitches such as when I’m writing it would be slow, not save writing if tab moved, you can’t use the mic on keyboard it would move the writing and mess up the whole thing or and delete some of my writing. It can get annoying when trying to write/vent in the journal it would move without notice and it would just get more stressful if you were already stress but I still like the app for the test it helps see my progress on how far I’ve come or fallen in the state

Annoying test & deleted data
I would give it 4 or 5 stars, but it has a really annoying beginning to the test: it says “don’t worry, be happy” — which is an incredibly counterproductive thing to say to a depressed person — like it is a choice. The app also updated a couple of years ago and deleted all my data, so I don’t trust long term data storage, and if I was really interested in that, I would have to export the data regularly.

I was wondering if the modified for teen version is available on an app.
App is helpful but
This app is helpful and like doing my own self check up with a bit of test. Writing stuff down helps a lot. Only issue is if I go away from the page when I’m typing for a second it erases my work. I want to be able to tab out for a second and come back to writing. I don’t wanna rewrite everything again. Also editing function is weird. I wanna add a part or take away and it doesn’t seem to always work. I appreciate this app for what it is but the journal section needs some work.

More comprehensive than PCP
Neither PCP nor this app are enough to actually determine clinical depression in any individual especially a shooter that wants to stay hidden. AND THAT, is our country’s biggest problem! Depression is hidden by the ones that should want it recognized. Where is an app that a depressed individual will game on that will secretly reveal the need for help?

I’m profoundly depressed. Took the included test. It agreed. Then it started telling me why CBT was the answer and gave me a hypothetical example of someone thinking the wrong way. In which way? It wanted me to choose how the imaginary person was wrong. Then it explained why my answer was wrong. This is precisely what you do not do with depressed people. If you think Bobby McFerrin is a life coach, this app might work for you. But if you actually need this kind of help, find another app. Didactic, patronizing, and preening all at once? Not the best vibe for me.

I've been using this app for years, and having the history and numbers is incredibly helpful. The developers have improved it as well. My doctor likes that I can them my score. It is very dependable, and I think free still. A win-win all around!

Looking at the reviews others have posted it's great that others have got help from this. I've had depression for 15 years now on and off and I'm thankfully self-aware enough to take action and nip it in the bud when it starts to resurface and looked at this app out of curiosity rather than need. For those less aware I can see this would be useful, HOWEVER for those wanting to use this to diagnose yourself please be aware that the symptoms of depression are not solely limited to depression - excessive tiredness, lack of energy and poor concentration can be caused by many things - for example: vitamin b12, omega-3 or vitamin D deficiency, low ferritin levels or impaired thyroid function; and actual depression itself is often not simply a stand-alone condition and is just as likely to be a symptom of something else such as hypothyroidism, anaemia, gluten intolerance or adrenal fatigue . If you think you have depression go to the doctor and get your bloods done as a first step as it would be pretty rubbish to be put on long-term antidepressants with all their scary side-effects and fork out for costly counselling services when there may be an underlying cause which is easily and more gently treatable with supplements, lifestyle and dietary changes.
