App won’t load

I thought I’d give this app a review, but I can’t even do that because the app won’t load at all. I tried redownloading it, refreshing, nothing is working.

AWESOME

the only reason why I give it 4 stars is because there's not an autism test. More like 4½ but I can't😭

Needs improvement

I can see where this could really help some people understand why their feeling the way they do. But this app doesn’t explain what the disorders are with the quizzes and the questions are based heavily on stereotypes. Most of the questions in the eating disorder quiz were for anorexia or Bulimia, it hardly touched on binge eating. The questions for adhd also focused more on the way it would effect a man than how it effects women. I love the idea for this but wish they selves more into all parts of the illnesses it tests for and prioritized educating people more.

Recommendations

I would recommend adding tests for OCD HYPCHONRIA BDD etc etc also adding tests for people under 18 since we need to keep in mind that not all people with disorders are over 18 and I believe that a lot of teenagers children may look for tests as a way of a partial diagnosis for someone to look into other wise it’s an alright app

I personally love this app because it offers so many free tests. It will help me a lot. Glad I found this app because it is very accurate information.

First impression

Not good for those that can’t read massive blocks of text for privacy policy and can’t even get my phone to even read it out to me. like I would normally do so I don’t have to argue with my internal monologue to just to read it. Please add a way so I can just get my phone to read it. There is people who have intellectual difficulties and that can be solved tho not only that need to be able to look up words to if it’s a completely new word to them. Not all people know the full English Dictionary. Tools are essential for some people!

It says 12+ rating, but tests are 18+

The app rating claims it is for 12 and older, but when you actually take the tests, it says you need to be 18+.

Assessments and Actual Diagnosis

The app is fine for a beginning point but not an ending point. If you believe you or someone else is suffering from some kind of disorder or addiction then taking a test or two on here won’t hurt but going in person to talk to some and receive an actual diagnosis may help more. Especially if you or someone you know can be little over dramatic or underestimate the problems you(they) are having. The referral questions are nice and can get the mind going but they seem pretty basic. I took some test for a few disorder that I know for a fact I DO NOT have just to test it out and some of the questions for these test do not pass the screening test. That is they can be sensitive, specific but they don’t protect against false negative or positive. These test also hold a few good assessment properties(they can be standardized and I believe they use comparison to that of a population.) But they don’t take into account cultural background and other factors that are just as important when diagnosing someone. I also believe the app can easily fool someone who suffers from hypochondria. I do like however that the app connects you to a professional if you do need help. And gives you a variety of questions when picking out a therapist. If the app could just work on the few things that I mentioned here I’d give it an A+ rating. I understand that it can be difficult but these things are important when giving out a clinical diagnosis or some people might be misdiagnosed or may practice may be performed. But I love the idea and think it is very meaningful towards bettering societies understanding of our mental health.

★☆☆☆☆ Australia · v1.24 · 12 Oct 2023

Contradictory and misleading

When you click on a disorder to test yourself with, it says that it's used for diagnoses, and then on the next page it says that it shouldn't be used as a diagnostic tool, and that you should talk to a medical professional. The tests themselves feel like they turned what google says to be the symptoms into questions.

🖤I hope y’all are doing better than me🖤

I used this app to test myself for everything they offer testing for I got high scores on almost everything so yea… I already knew that my mental state from 1-10 (1 being terrible mental health, 10 being awesome mental health) im a 1 or 1.5 so idk what to do but if my parents see this idk what I’m gunna do😭😭

— ns75533

★★☆☆☆ Canada · v1.2.2 · 7 Apr 2019

It needs improvement.

There are some great aspects to this app, but it is severely lacking in some of the question banks. Example, the bipolar survey, has NO QUESTIONS about the depressive side of the disorder, it only asks about mania. You cannot have a diagnosis of bipolar, according to the DSM, without clear depressive symptoms. The mania questions were good for what it’s worth, the app just needs some significant additions.

★★★☆☆ United States · v1.22 · 29 Mar 2021

Can be inaccurate

Sometimes you can answer a test with mostly “no” responses and it’ll still tell you that you are high the disorder or trait... makes no sense. Not completely trustworthy.

Interesting diagnosis

This app covers all of the major mental health issues. It makes sense. Excellent app for being free.

— Thesimpster

★☆☆☆☆ United States · v1.24 · 15 Sept 2023

Intrusive

Before you use this app, read the privacy policy. They track your device ID and location and store it. This is completely unacceptable just to take tests that aren’t even medically legitimate.

— NorthCackalacky73

★★★★☆ Canada · v1.2.2 · 29 Mar 2019

Some small things

Love it, except there are things like entering your zip code, I can’t use letters. Only the number keyboard pops up. It would be better if you were able to “back up” a question, if you miss clicked or something. Lastly, the colour scheme is mostly darker blue, but some areas there are bright white, which hurts the eyes if you’re using it on the evening

— PurportedlyAlex

★★★☆☆ United States · v1.22 · 20 Nov 2020

Eh

( I have been diagnosed) very basic, said I had moderate anxiety which just um no❤️, only asked 7 (again very basic) questions, the choices are (never, several days, over half of the days, nearly every day) which like several days should be more like a few days but that’s just me being nitpicky. There’s a lot better test I mean if you just google the symptoms (which this only asks questions that only have to do with not even like 1/4 of) and I don’t recommend self diagnosing but if you want a very basic idea this will do that, and it does give a basic rundown of multiple mental illnesses before you take the idk quiz? Test? I’d rate it more of a 2.5 but I can’t so...

Simple. Easy. Helpful.

I find this app kind of interesting, I enjoy taking the tests and anticipating my results. Most of the tests you kind of know the outcome but some scores are shocking believe it or not. Worth it for sure. It gives you helpful tips and chances to connect with specialist and licensed therapists.

Pretty good

They have screenings for a lot of different things and they only have a handful of questions from the diagnostic test not enough to actually give a diagnosis but if you have a very high result chances are you are eligible for the diagnosis

★☆☆☆☆ United States · v1.22 · 2 Jul 2022

Too Simple and Vague

I am formally diagnosed with about half this app tests for, i just downloaded it because it sounded fun. I opened it up and clicked on the "adult adhd" test. It proceeded to ask me SIX questions, all relating to ONE symptom of adhd. I AM an adult with adhd and i'm offended that anyone could answer JUST those questions and think it's proof they have adhd. PLEASE USE OFFICIAL MEDICAL TESTS ONLINE AND RESEARCH THEIR VALIDITY, OR GO TO AN ACTUAL DOCTOR TO RECEIVE A FORMAL DIAGNOSIS.
