Tech support is very good
I recently wrote a poor review based on AIB customer support team. But their Technical support has sorted my problem pretty quickly. But I suppose if your issue is technical there’s not much the customer support folk can actually do other than tell you to switch off & on your device. I’ve never had any issues with AIB app until a recent (forced) change of phone. But AIB technical solved the conundrum pretty quickly so 9/10.
Been banking with them for years
This is the worst banking app I’ve ever used and falls well short of other banking apps
Terrible bank
The app itself is okay, usable and not overly hard to navigate. The problem is the bank itself. This is the slowest bank I have ever used, taking hours to do transfers compared to other banks’ instantaneous transfers. If you already have an account with AIB then you’ll need the app but otherwise avoid
TRANSFER GLITCH
For the last few weeks, each time I attempt to make a transfer to another UK personal account, the app freezes and closes as soon as I enter the last digit of the account number! Bit of a hassle having to log on to the PC every time I need to make a one-off small transfer

Terrible trouble with this app and poor advice from branch and helpline staff. Is there a separate app for us Northerners? Not impressed
It doesn’t work
Tried to use this app for years and I can’t get in. They insist on sending a code to your address and when you input the code it doesn’t work. And they haven’t fixed the issue in at least two years. I was forced to change banks but I got sent money to this old account by mistake and the problem still persists. I tried to use the laptop version and it redirects to the Southern Irish site if you are abroad, so I can’t log in. What an absolute piece of rubbish. How can a bank be so useless in the first place and continue to not fix the issues they are fully aware of after several years?? It’s incredible. My advice. Change banks if you live in Northern Ireland. They don’t care.

I can’t use the app anymore to access my account to transfer money to another account I have to use online now
How to fix issue if security authentication fails
I spoke with Amie today on web chat and they told me: If you can’t access the old device, can you please follow the below steps to delete the app fully from your iCloud. Once this is done, please delete and reinstall the AIB Mobile app on your device. You will need to re-enrol for SCA again. Delete the app from iCloud 1. Go to Settings and tap your profile (name). 2. Tap iCloud. 3. Tap Manage Storage. On this screen, you will see your current iCloud storage available. 4. Select Backups from the list. You will see all devices that are currently using the iCloud backup storage. 5. Choose the current iPhone you are using. Hint: It will say "This iPhone." . You will see a small list of apps under Choose Data to Back Up. Tap Show All Apps. 7. Find the AIB app from the list and slide the white dot to the left so that the colour changes from green to white. 8. A window will pop up that asks "Do you want to turn off AIB backups and delete the backup data from iCloud?" Tap Turn Off & Delete. Once you have unregistered the device delete and reinstall the app on the new phone and follow the onscreen instructions This worked for me thankfully so my app is back up and running!

Can’t move money to another bank account since update. Think it’s time to move banks.
Please update 2FA bugs
The current release of app constantly requires two factor authentication to be set up for every login. Please fix this.
AIB APP LOGIN PROBLEMS SOLVED -solution.
Hopefully this may help where AIB has not been able to help it’s customers below with 1 star ratings and leaving for not been able to access app after UPGRADE iphone. You end up in constant loop to update security but unable to assess app on phone or online. Solution is simple - delete AIB app Search -App Store “Allied Irish Bank” Reinstall app and login in -2 factor authentication actually works now and can assess app and login on line as previously Hope this helps!!
Behind the times
First trust is so behind the times the app is very basic and can not add a new payee without card reader, it’s 2025!!
Absolute rubbisj
Ever since aib took control of First Trust Bank it has just got worse and worse. The app being a perfect example. It takes so long to open due to "extra security" and to acknowledge that i need to approve an online payment, that i've been timed out on my payment by the time the request appears on the aib app. Been intending to switch banks for ages but going to do it next week! Aib is rubbish!

Hate this app can’t do anything on it everything requires going into the bank or going onto the website. Cant do anything directly
Just too hard…
Been struggling with this app for years…now so bad I’m going to change banks. I recently changed my iPhone and the app asked me to use a card reader and insert my credit card…who still has a credit card reader?…fortunately I had, and was able to jump through the AIB hoops, but that wasn’t enough, they then wanted a security update before I could access my account. Ok I tried that, but then we just went round in circles with the app saying security update failed!!! Goodbye AIB…

Like others I cannot access my account. Try to update and keep getting technical issues message.

Developers rolling out updates but not fixing the actual issues that everyone is having. Easily the worst online banking app I’ve ever seen, embarrassing.
Unusable since last update
My mobile app has been unusable since the last update 4 months ago. It constantly tries to update but says Authentication Failed then gives no option to work to fix this. I see someone posted a very complicated solution here which seemingly would work but I have neither the know-how nor the patience to work through this. Instead I will just let this account die and move my money to a different bank.
