What people like
- Beautiful and modern user interface
- No ads or paywalls at all
- Great support for local music files
What they complain about
- Music files delete themselves without warning
- Album art fails to show up
- Adding songs to playlists is annoying
Nice
Nice
App needs fixing
Is this really how the app is designed? To add songs to a playlist, I have to manually search for each song title every single time just to get it to appear. Why isn’t there an option to add songs in bulk when creating a playlist? And even after the playlist is created, when I go to the ‘add songs’ section, why is it completely empty until I start typing? There’s no way to browse my library or see suggestions I’m forced to search from scratch every time.
Really nice app
Would be better if the search icon worked. As of now, I have about 3K songs and pressing on the search icon crashes the app
Opus broken
Opus is NOT fully supported. It will detect .oga files (the official OGG container format for Opus audio) and even read ID3 tags, but album art isn’t rendered properly and the audio refuses to play; just skips thru the whole album and stops.
Archivos locales
Es muy buena pero lo único que no me gusta es que las canciones que no tienen autor todas aparecen con la misma portada y no puedo cambiarlas de ahí en fuera todo bien
Beautiful local music player!
The UI is beautiful and the functionality is all there. Feels just like a music streaming app except with your own files. I liked using VLC but this is just next level. Highly recommend this app for local music playback!
Perfect for most people with local libraries
Jewelcase is the first seriously good attempt to bring a Poweramp-like experience to iOS and I am all for it, but QOL definitely needs to be worked on in the form of customisation options and UX - things can feel a bit janky to navigate. But honestly the only problem I actually have with Jewelcase is the Last.fm scrobbler not working.
Please update
Great app, but please add letter list on the side so you can go directly to songs and the possibility to delete files.
Phenomenal so far
Fantastic design and attention to detail. Genuinely makes playing local music feel like a first class experience. I wonder why this app is free and not, say, $10 or so.
Alot of the album arts wont appear when maximixed they do show up in tracks list
I donated whatever i could thanks
feature suggestions
This app is great, but there are a few features that would make it better. Being able to add lyrics to my songs would be very helpful. And being able to change the names of albums or artists or songs, etc. i have a few files saved from youtube, and it won’t register them as songs, or put them in an album. i’d like to do that manually, so i can have it more organized. best app i could find though, these features would make this app a full 5 stars!
Best offline music player
This is the only music player on iPhone besides Apple Music that works functionally perfect as I expected. Lyric support works really well, the UI is great, and I can stream my own music library. I’m really satisfied with this app. I hope to see new features in the future if so
Great
Only problem I keep running into is that the cover art won’t show on some songs. Even with the art tagged in the file it won’t work. Even the “select cover art” button in the app doesn’t work.
Great music player!
Exactly what I wanted from a local music player! Love that it syncs with last.fm and the flexibility it has with metadata. Would definitely recommend, especially for people switching from streaming because it has a very similar interface to what you're already familiar with without supporting Spotify/Apple Music/etcetc
Best local music player
It has basically every feature I could want with only a couple weird problems. It supports scrobbling and has a great UI. It doesn’t seem to play well with music that doesn’t have good metadata but other than that it is great
Best app ever and very friendly 2 users
No monetization/ads equals happy user. There are a few minor visual bugs but other than that highly recommended. If you are looking for an app without ads/paywalls, this is the ultimate solution. Happy listening.
Great app
I love it, I sent a tip. The only thing is it doesn’t seem to recognize my sort tags (album, artist, or album artist). I have artist sort tags enabled but they don’t show in the track info and don’t sort properly.
best thing to ever happen
i usually NEVER write reviews cus yk whatever i hate apple n whatnot but this app…i shed a tear coming across this app. i had lost spotify premium a few days ago & could not STAND the ads. used to use an app exactly like this one but it started filtering ads & tracking my data. this dev is SO selfless & i am literally indebted to them. please do not EVER get rid of this app
Good app—Zero advert
All the interfaces are great, but it would have been better if crossfading could be added to the app.
Beautiful Layout
I’m loving this app! I have used VLC for awhile, but I wanted something aesthetically pleasing. I’m leaving you a donation. Keep up the good work!
Overall soild，but have some bugs
Somehow some songs cover wont be showed
Genuinely the best local file player
The player functions great and (in my opinion) tops Foobar2000 due to its more modern features (although, it does compromise on some) and UI. I especially appreciate that it supports embedded/Vorbis tag lyrics, which Foobar mobile doesn’t support.
One of the best music players out there!
It’s a really good looking music player that has replaygain function and listening history. The only thing that’s stopping this player is an issue with song files being deleted unprompted. The songs don’t even show up in recently deleted in the files app. If it weren’t for me adding them to a playlist immediately, I probably would have lost more songs without knowing. Please fix this immediately!!
Add artist cover art!
Please add this feature where you can add an artist cover art separately from album cover!! Thank you!!
so much potential
i downloaded jewelcase last week and ive been absolutely loving it, might be the only music app with listenbrainz and opus support. only critique i have is that its rather inconvenient having to drag music into the jewelcase folder, id like for there to be more transfer options, specifically wi-fi transfer and the ability to transfer files from the files app within the jewelcase app itself. would also love an improvement to the playlist feature, e.g. adding the ability to select multiple songs/albums to add to playlists. otherwise, at this rate, this could potentially become one of, if not THE best offline music player app on the market right now.
