The best resort and hotel ever
We went to many many resorts in Mexico and Dominican Republic, but this resort is a very high-end. Excellent professional people very polite and caring. They eager to help at any time at any moment. We love this resort and we plan to return again. Everything went smooth from the front desk to the end and we have absolutely no complaints. We really recommend this resort to everybody who wants to have an excellent experience and an enjoyable vacation.
Schemey
This app and the larger company it represents screams bait and switch. I was using this app to book restaurants at the all-inclusive I was staying at. I was logging in daily to make sure we had a reservation for each night. I login five days before and book a restaurant and do that everyday, as that is the earliest they would allow us to do so. I had done this for two days in a row. I login on the third day and all of a sudden every hotel is available except for hours. Like they magically deleted our hotel off the the app. Royalton is definitely a scam. I don’t know why they would claim to offer these services and then strip them away from you after they get your money.
What’s all the hate about?
The app is okay. There definitely could be some improvements made to it, but other than that it’s good. Why is there so much hate about this app? It’s fairly easy to navigate, works well, and to me it’s not glitchy. It’s a good app to help navigate the resort.
App keeps losing my location
No good! All keeps losing my log-in and location of my hotel keeps being missing from the app itself, have tried downloading several times as you need it to book restaurants etc without going to the front desk each time. Come on Royalton sort this out ASAP!
Actually Works Great!
Honestly saw tons of reviews talking about how terrible the app is. I downloaded it and started using it and it works great. I guess an update came out and made it work better. It’s definitely a must-have for the best resort experience. I particularly loved the free unlimited room-service that came with the app.

Non-functional
I’m not sure what there is to review. The map doesn’t work. The room service doesn’t work. You have to select your hotel each time you open the app and it doesn’t remember your login. Then once you try to log back in, it just goes blank. Tried ordering room service twice but both were rejected after asking the room number (which is ironically tied to your login), however I couldn’t have responded because the app went blank several times. I had to delete and redownload just to get those messages after the fact. The average app reviews are accurate. Maybe have the CEO use the app? Of course they won’t and that’s the problem. That’s my feedback. It’s a joke of an app.

This app is such a cluster of miss organized confusion. The app is clunky and has refreshed my page and login multiple times. Not to mention after I got logged out it refused to log me back in. Deleted the app reinstalled it nothing this. app has added stress to my vacation to be honest I couldn’t be more upset.

For being a Marriott property, this resort sucks. We have been here prior to the pandemic but since being acquired, the level of service has went downhill. We upgraded to the diamond club and had the chairman suite and the room isn’t even fully stocked. We constantly have to ask our “butler “ but he seemed to be no help. It really isn’t worth the upgrade. I would not waste my money.

Beware: Not 5 a star resort
The staff at the new royalton vessence in Barbados were extremely kind and tried to make the experience good, HOWEVER, we felt like it was important to warn others not to stay here if they’re expecting a 5 star experience. This resort is new and not ready to open. Most of the food options are unavailable and the staff is inexperienced. Most dinners (and snacks if you could find them) were scant and incorrect once delivered. The staff at the resort are not able to make any decisions, common sense or otherwise, and are required to call headquarters to answer simple questions. They were unable to arrange airport transport when requested the day before, they do not have boating activities yet nor the ability to arrange them, at check in they attempted to charge us $7,000 extra dollars for our 14 year old because their website incorrectly booked her age as a child instead of an adult. We settled on $2000 extra but they were not able to use their computer system to make the fix and we had to pull it up on the website ourselves to fix the mistake. The resort seems to be at about 5-10% of capacity and yet that seemed to be challenging. 2 hour + for room service, inability to answer questions or communicate internally. At check out, it took security 2+ hours and multiple requests to bring us some lost shorts and sunglasses. In fact, we still don’t have them and are waiting for our taxi that we had to arrange ourselves for the airport. We requested a late check out of one hour, and they were unable to accommodate the request despite no guests at the resort. They started calling our room and knocking on our door at one minute til check out. We were ready, thank goodness, but are now sitting and waiting. I hope you like Marlin, because that was the “catch of the day” at every restaurant, for every meal and the even when the menu descriptions mentioned another fish (tuna), marlin was substituted. The beach staff, the bartenders, the wait staff, and Sade, in particular were wonderful, but the resort management needs to let the staff on sight have some autonomy and authority to properly take care of their guests. Bottom line, they are not ready for guests, and management needs to be on-sight and more guest oriented. The hotel is new and nice, but the rooms, food, and guest services were 3 star at best. Don’t waste your money here. There are much better places for half the price in Barbados. Side note: it was $38 US dollars for copper tone sport sunscreen and $25 for a box of tampons… I get the upcharge but that seems like price gouging to an extreme.
Worked very well
This app worked very well for me. I was able to book restaurants for dinner, get directions around the resort. Get a lot of details for example about the activities going on and the amenities. This app was my best friend throughout my stay at Royalton.
Barely functional
This app has major flaws: 1. It does not keep you signed in. You need to constantly re-login every session 2. It always opens on the resort selection screen (because of issue #1) but tapping your resort 75% of the time leads to it opening another page then immediately going back to the resort selection screen. Extremely frustrating. 3. When you try to login, about 50% of the time you get an error screen. The only recourse is to restart the app and pray it works next time

I am going to the royal splash in February 2025 and I wanted to see if they had an app so I downloaded it and I don’t know if it’s gonna good this app has a 2/5 reading so I hope it’s good
God awful
Horrible app, barely functional
Poorly designed and dysfunctional
The app is horrible. The app doesn’t reflect our Diamond club status and asks about upgrading to diamond, even tho we are diamond club. Some stuff is buried and hard to find, such as the menus for our reservation. A lot of the links in the app don’t do anything when you click them. Honestly better off just texting the butler our needs through WhatsApp. The map can’t be zoomed out to get an idea of where stuff is.. it pulls up zoomed close to walk way where you’re left guessing where you’re going if you don’t just use the maps posted around the property.
Worst resort
No one really cares about anything. Is not the app, is in general with all the servants from security, butler, front desk to excursion booking. We try to ask for water at anytime during the day and they constantly said they don’t have but to go get it at the bar. Excursion cancelation is a frustrating thing that ruin your plans and they don’t find a solution just tell you oh well I guess you need to wait 10 days for your refund. The security, Joe is rude and doesn’t care about elderly in canes, telling them they don’t need a kart to taken them to the room, but to walk it. Rooms constantly power go out and no towels are left, showers leaks water constantly to the outside iron equipment are broken. Butler assign to take care of you is never around and books restaurant reservation at her time preference not at what the customer wants.
