Scrabble Review
Absorbing game that certainly sharpens one’s game
Nobbutabairn
The dwell time of the ads on this is just excessive, even worse that the previous version of the app. It makes it practically unplayable and I’m deleting it
Levels
Good graphics and play. Only issue I find is the difference between levels is a lot.
Scrabble
Too many adverts and often it can be too long before games are finished .
Jewish words!
Hey. I love the people and culture of Israel but the dictionary covers words like “the Jewish letter for …..”! I have no idea about these words. Yet scrabble will not allow me to spell “Jew” which makes no sense. This word is in the Collins dictionary so I am confused about the selective words that this game allows you to play. I can and have spelled the “C” word but not the “J” word. I’m disappointed.
Great fun and no bots.
I’ve tried other versions of Scrabble but always seemed to end up playing bots - you can tell when you’re playing a bot because of the speed with which they make their moves.
Disappointing
Free app 👎but only two poor opponents unless you subscribe
Very good
The Scrabble game is very good. It’s like the board game, but better because your opponent does not moan if you take too long!
Too many Ads
Game itself is good. Started well, some ads as expected. Over a few days now interrupting every game multiple times with the same long ads (some last for 30 seconds). Lost the joy of the game so I have deleted the app.
Scrabble
Bloody adverts ruin it as always
Classic game
Thoroughly enjoying these games of Scrabble.
Poor
The amount of times I’ll lose a game because the opponent has ran out of tiles but I still have tiles left which can win me points is ridiculous, stupid game
Great game
Too many ads
Obscure words
Game recognises words that the bot plays but dismiss words that the player uses despite being proper words
Just for a change, ads.
First game, not too bad. Second game, one word in and a 60 second ad. Nah. Deleted. I have updated my rating to three stars as the developer had the decency to respond to my review. Thanks for that guys.
Scrabble
Scrabble got me hooked I’m 78 it keeps my brain active I have to keep plating Sam the bot as I’m a very poor pensioner so can’t afford to keep paying. Bots
An App for Ads
The gameplay is good, but is only the secondary purpose of this app. The primary purpose is to serve you intrusive, full-screen, ads that you can’t skip. You spend more time dealing with the low-quality AI-slop ads than you do on actual gameplay. It would be okay if you could pay an amount to have this app ad-free, but they expect you to pay a monthly subscription just to make the ads disappear. Truly pathetic.
Great game
Playing online against real people,it’s good fun and learning some new words.
Tedious
Adverts every few seconds, waste of time
Disappointing
Started out as a great game, with minimal ads, but as you keep playing. The ads get more prolific, and last far too long. So I am going to stop playing it, and find another version.
Nice layout
I really like the board layout and that it gives you a puzzle each day and challenges, great app for scrabble lovers.
Don’t buy this
Ads constantly interrupt play and it trying to sell you other games before you even get to a game of scrabble. It changed a week or so ago, unplayable now
Great original game
No gimmicks game but high subscription cost and adds particularly annoying as inappropriate to scrabble players, suspect chosen to annoy. Mostly its the appalling Royal Match being advertised.
No players to play!
It's just deserted (unlike chess.com where you can always get a game). You ask for a match and nobody comes forward. Those that do play for a couple of gos and then disappear. Very odd and disappointing.
Good but adds too frequent
Enjoying the game against the bot, but ads every couple of turns is too excessive and I will be deleting this game sadly.
Super
I love it! I can play with random people or my friends. And when they aren’t playing I can play a bot! Very entertaining.
Ads
Too many ads
Excellent game but intrusive ads
The game itself is excellent and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. But the ads are becoming tiresome. Frequently, I’ve taken only one turn and an ad appears. I have shut down advertisements for King Richard and Temu numerous times due to having no interest in either, but they keep coming. I absolutely understand that ads are required in order to pay the bills but could they be less frequent and also non-repetitive?
Ad after every turn
Constant advert unless you pay monthly
Gameplay good, adverts bad
The Royal brand of games have adverts that are *excessively* long, kills gameplay. Uninstalled.
Relaxer
Great game, never played before and now I love it
Nonsense guessing game.
Nonsense game. Accepts words not in the Collins scrabble diary. If you think wo and ef are actual words then you’ve a better vocabulary than me. And Mr Collins.
Intolerable
Ads have suddenly become longer ( over one minute) and more frequent, spoiling the game completely, so I’m deleting…………… One day later and I have reinstalled the app and, so far, it has been a much better experience. Thank you to the administrators who have responded so positively.
Hard to exit app
It is noticeably difficult to swipe up on this app to exit it, which is regularly irritating. The Scrabble is good, though.
Scrabble
Good game but players often take too long to play a turn
Challenging and learning , no bingos yet
Winning a few but learning from the losses .. wish the app could tell you where the binges were I missed
Impossible to enjoy due to never ending ads
Good game but the never ending ads after every couple of moves make it impossible to play. Especially when the ads are for apps I already have or have no interest in. Sometimes they go on for 2 minutes or more (or it seems like it). Very frustrating. Unfortunately it’s far too expensive to remove the ads as I only play occasionally so it’s getting deleted I’m afraid which is a shame.
RoyB
I am enjoying playing and I usually play a Bot as I can play at my own speed. What annoys me slightly is that the Bot uses all kinds of abbreviations, capital words and foreign words. I thought it was going to be pure, classic Scrabble
Game reduced in size - unable to correct
Unfortunately the game became unplayable due to reducing the size on my iPad to approximately 3x5 cms. Sad as this was a subscription app costing $5 / month!
Too many adds
Not enough boys, far too many ads, can’t even get two words out before an advert
Love Scrabble
Absolutely worth the money to play without ads. So far I’ve found a few good competitors but would love to get hold of old friends without having all my contacts on their database. It’s really awkward to contact a person or maybe I’m just not doing it right.
Too many intrusive adverts
Repetitive, overly long (or never ending) and irrelevant ads. I realise some advertising is necessary as an income stream, but the constant nature of adverts promoting utter dross is depressing and pointless. Even if I bought the products in question, the ads would no doubt still appear.
Very authentic
Great game spoiled by players using AI rather than their own skills.
Disappointing
If you are not able to go first when playing the bot on the Adventure trail, you have a very low chance of winning. Disappointing!
Ok time waster
When I first downloaded the game, there was no Ads, it was an alright time waster playing against bots, third day in, the Ads start, deleting the game, not worth paying to remove Ads, not that good to put up with the Ads.
Enjoyable!
This is a wonderful way to get your Scrabble ‘fix’.
Infinite illegal words allowed
The key rule in Scrabble is that if you play an illegal word:- (a) you are not warned about it until you submit it and (b) when you submit it you should miss a go due to your opponent challenging you and get zero points. Neither of these things happen in this useless dumbo Scrabble for morons game. This means that each turn you can put infinite configurations of your tiles down until you stumble upon a high scoring word. And this one rule change utterly destroys the jeopardy of playing Scrabble entirely. Thanks for ruining my favourite game of all time.
Hit and Miss
As an absolute scrabble beginner the game has me hooked and am learning a lot and enjoying playing! However, who has come up with a subscription model of £2.99 a month for a casual game such as this? If there was an outright purchase option for under five pounds I’d buy it. As it is with ads after every other turn I doubt I’ll have the patience and delete before the week is done. Thank you for the education, but not going to be a keeper sorry.
Okay but…..
The bot is very creative in some of the words that it comes up with…. EA, GU, ONS, GOE, AA, AI. I can’t wait to see what else it comes up with before I finish this one game. Okay, so it accepts acronyms but It wouldn’t accept my use of IQ. Not a level playing field!
I love to play Scrabble….
But I wait for ages for opponents to play their turn. There should be a time limit. As soon as someone gets behind in the game, they disappear!
