What people like
- Great value for the wrestling content
- English subtitles are very helpful
- Deep archive of classic matches
What they complain about
- Search function barely works at all
- No offline download feature available yet
- App freezes and crashes constantly
- User interface feels outdated and janky
Needs a better search function
It is the best for Japanese wrestling but needs a better search function
Won’t let me watch anything
Just got the app and looked in my current subscriptions and it’s listed in there. Yet it won’t let me watch anything. I’d like a refund if the issue isn’t fixed! I’m beginning to disdain Apple/IPhone
Love it.
I’m so happy to have access to NJPW content and all the entertainment that comes with it. The fact that we can also have English subtitles is great! I can understand what’s happening in those moments (real time on PPVs,few hrs delay on house events)without having to translate through other platforms. Thanks for having it so easy to access to your fans globally!

Amazing Wrestling, Clunky Experience
NJPW World is kind of a love-hate experience. The wrestling itself is top-tier — live shows, big events like Wrestle Kingdom and G1, and a deep archive of classics. If you’re a New Japan fan, the content alone makes it worth having. That said, the app can be frustrating. Navigation isn’t great, the interface feels outdated, and watching on a TV or casting can be hit-or-miss. Little things like having to start matches one by one or settings not sticking get annoying over time.
Wrestling Fan Forever!
God I love this app! I can watch all my favorite NJPW matches and still find hidden gems regularly. If you’re a fan this all is a must have!
Can’t play a single video
I haven’t been able to play a single video on this app. “An error occurred while trying to play the video” pops up every time giving no indication of what’s wrong.
Please fix!!!
The resume button doesn’t work on any platform. So Annoying!!!
Cant login
Keeps bringing up the half browser that never lets me log in to anything. Also says no account found but im logged in on other devices 👍

Half of the old matches, like G1’s are missing all matches besides the finals

Horrible
This app no matter what I am trying to watch whether it be a live event or an event that’s already avaible to watch it constantly freezes every 15 minutes or so. Anytime I try to start a wrestling event it says a problem occurred please try again. If you want to watch a njpw event and it’s available else where like thriller tv I would mind you to purchase that event somewhere else and avoid this app like the plague
My favorite wrestling app
I love it it’s my favorite wrestling app
Airplay stopped working
The icon for airplay stopped appearing after most recent update. App also no longer recognizes any devices to cast to (but other apps do recognize and work with those devices).
LOVE THE NEW APP
TREMENDOUS LOVE THE NEW APP
Bad isn’t even enough for this app
Wanna watch old shows in one sitting? Nope, those are in bits. Check marks to navigate them maybe? Nope, not here. Well at least it’s easy to watch prior years….okay maybe not. Once you find the show you can watch it though? But no, actually you can’t, some shows have the wrong picture for the wrong event on them. Linked shows connected, no chance. At the very least, once you find the right show you can watch it no problem, actually even that isn’t working properly. I just wanted to watch a PPV and when I hit rewind, freezes and all the way back to the start….so good luck skimming all the way back to that match at that point. If this app was intended to encourage people to watch, truly it has failed. Nothing about this is a reliable or functional experience. Don’t even waste your time with this featureless rubbish, certainly don’t waste your money.
A change for the worst
So they launched this new app last November. It’s serviceable at best. If you don’t watch live then all the matches are broken up into individual videos. I often have to reset all of my settings each time a new match comes on. The worst part is they removed most of the archive footage from the old app with the promise that it would all be remastered and uploaded again. I have no confidence this will ever happen.
No offline?
App seems fine so far but where is the offline download feature?? It was said that the new app would have offline download
Horrible
The app is absolutely horrendous! I search for a wrestler by name, no results found! Also can’t get the English version of shows. I’ve never seen anything so difficult to use ever! I’ll be dumping this shortly. So disgusted
Needs issues fixed
This app used to be smooth! Lost all the previews ppvs I’ve baught ! There’s no download features as it says “download available “ I’ve been having issues while playing a video it loads really slow or plays something else. They do need to re upgrade the app to what it was!
Thank you!
Finally an app. Really good deal to finally see this. Works great!
Cannot login on Roku app
Password and details works fine for log in on my iPhone but I cannot use them on the Roku app as it says it is invalid log in and there is no valid link on the help page to send an email requesting help.
Not great
I was hoping for good things but this app is a worse experience for me than just watching through the NJPW World web site. Searching for older matches to watch is the worst part. There’s so little context in the search results besides the thumbnails. The whole UI feels pretty janky. Also none of the live events are in English now?
Works perfectly
Anyone who can’t get anything to work must not have logged in correctly or has no network. This is a great improvement in the experience. Thank you new Japan!
Terrible
Nothing works on the app, can’t access previous events. This seems like it was rolled out without one bit of quality control
Great, but…
I love that NJPW World has its own app. However, I cannot use the search function. I hope this will be fixed with future updates as I— as well as many other fans— enjoy watching older events as well as most recent ones.
