Manual Macro Targets?
“Food, [Macro], & Fitness Tracker”. For an app that advertises itself as a macro tracker, you’d expect yourself to be able to manually enter your macro targets - right? Wrong! In this (paid for) app you have to choose percentages of your target calorie goal for the app to pick the individual macros for you. You’d expect such a simple little function to be available through this app. I swapped from a different calorie tracker (ProCal) to give this one a shot because it was slightly cheaper (still $30) after the free trial. I guess in the end you get what you pay for, but overall if you care about tracking your macros as close as possible, I’d recommend a different tracker unless they add this function.

I downloaded and used this last year, When I went back to use this. I can’t log my 5th food item in without being asked to pay for the ridiculous monthly subscription. I remember when It was free to log your food in. Now it has a devolution.

Trying to push premium
I’m trying to add foods to my meals but after two it gives me pop up ads when I try to add more than two. So I can’t accurately count now. Was working fine for about a month but now all of a sudden I can’t add all my food. Was going to pay for premium but this turned me off on the app all together.
A Useful but Inconsistent AI Calorie Counter
Appediet’s AI calorie counter sits in an odd middle ground for me — helpful enough to use, yet frustrating enough to question its price. The core calorie‑tracking works fine, but anything beyond the basics starts to wobble. The carb counter varies noticeably depending on the release, which is a problem if you follow a low‑carb diet. You essentially have to configure your own plan manually, and halfway through mine I had to switch plans and lost data in the process. Data management is another weak spot: no export option, and food entries rely heavily on peer‑submitted information that doesn’t seem moderated. Supplements like Centrum don’t show up in the nutrient summary at all, which makes the overview feel incomplete. The AI guidance also misses the mark — on a low‑carb diet it congratulated me for increasing my carb intake, which is the opposite of what I’m aiming for. As a simple calorie counter, it suffices. As a smart nutrition tool, it’s not there yet. And for what it costs, I expected more reliability and polish.

I suggest use this app.

It was completely fine last summer cause I used it and it helped me lose some weight but now I came back to it after a year and it started asking for “MoNeY” and not even letting me freaking search any shi except one ingredient of what I ate for breakfast etc and I found it frustrating cause why can’t people just make something free for everyone to be helped and lose weight? But no it’s always money money greedy pigs

I used to love using this app, but I can’t get it to work anymore. I use the free version and watching ads would let me log my food, but now it won’t let me search anything, plus most of the calories are slightly off somehow for most foods, I won’t be using this app again.

I used to love this app because of its easy tracking but just recently I got back into my diet and the way the app repays me is whenever i try to search up foods it traps me behind a paywall. For what? Wanting to log my cheez its????? I’ve been reading the reviews and there are tons of people complaining about the same thing and your response is “WeLl SOme FeAtUrEs ArE pReMiUm AnD ThE aPp Is FoR bAsIc TrAcKiNg” let me just tell you this…. YOU CANT LOG ANYTHING IF YOU CANT SEARCH IT NOW THE APP IS ESSENTIALLY USELESS WITHOUT PAYING FOR BASIC SERVICES
Getting started
So far it has been easy and friendly but I cannot comment on results as I have just started this minute.
Buggy as hell
I’ve been using this app for over a year and it has a lot of potential, but it’s currently held back by several frustrating bugs and poor design decisions that make daily use much more annoying than it needs to be. Major Issues: • History & Search is broken: The recent items/history shows random old entries from over a year ago instead of prioritizing what I actually use. The search function doesn’t update live — you have to hit enter every time. Results appear in seemingly random order with no logic based on frequency of use. For example, I eat the same Costco salmon snack almost every weekday, yet it’s never near the top and I have to dig through the list every single time. • Frequent freezing in menus: When navigating multiple levels deep (especially when editing custom foods or meals), the app regularly freezes and stops responding to any input. The only fix is to force-close and restart the app, which means losing whatever information you were entering. This happens way too often. • Custom meals are poorly handled: When you create a custom meal (like a 32-ingredient smoothie), it saves everything as individual line items instead of keeping them grouped as one meal. If you accidentally assign it to the wrong meal time, you have to swipe and delete every single ingredient manually. This feels like a basic design oversight. • Dangerous Health app integration: By default, the app pulls activity data from Apple Health and automatically adds calories back to your daily total based on estimated burn. This is wildly inaccurate and actively harmful for people in a calorie deficit trying to lose weight. It should be opt-in with much clearer warnings, or at minimum not override your set goals so aggressively. • Recent macro duplication bug: Multiple meals, including long-standing custom items I use daily, are suddenly showing 2–3x their normal macros. A smoothie that’s been ~800 calories for over a year is now showing up as 2,700+ calories. This is a serious regression that makes the app unreliable for tracking. Overall, the app feels like it lacks proper QA and testing. Many of these issues (especially the history/search problems and freezing) have persisted for a long time. The core idea is good, but the execution makes it unreliable and frustrating for daily use. I’d love to give it a higher rating if the team focuses on stability, smart defaults, and fixing these core usability problems.
Voice over won’t read out info on app
Hi havr downloaded the app however when trying to fill out. Tye questionr you asked. I noticed crust voice over won’t read out any of the info on the screen. May I also suggest having a topic or question relating to Duabetes as this was why the app appealed to me and I havr to eat from akk food groups. May I also suggest a basic free version. I don’t need in-depth info just the tools to help me make the best giud choices. One of the things I have to look out fur if carbs guy apart from that I love the idea of this app

This app is one if the best ai diet tracking app with a lot of options for tracking your diet. The only thing I ratted 4 stars is because after 10-12 days of daily use it just stating spamming the vip version and now I can't track my food anymore cause of it.

Annoying analysis feature
I like how you can take a picture or scan code to log food, but every time after I enter one item, a food analysis window immediately pops out and I couldn’t go back to the main app page unless I completely exit. VERY ANNOYING! not gonna renew subscription unless they fix this.

Older version better
The weight history has changed from a calendar to a list. It is much less helpful. Overall, I like the app for ease of use and the ability to track meals even when eating out or creating new recipes. I wish it integrated workouts better and included a period tracker.

Has you set up your entire profile, height, weight, age, goals, meal plan etc and then on the very last step you get smacked in the face with a subscription screen. 3 day free trial that you can’t cancel until AFTER it charges you for 6 months.

Great Food Tracking App
Great app for tracking food, pretty straightforward to use. I’ve been trying it out this week, thinking about whether or not to stick with it. The app allows you to actually speak what you ate and it converts the info which is cool. The barcode scanner is really helpful and speeds things up. I’m annoyed at all the advertisements though and it keeps stopping me from doing basic things. Yesterday I could scan a barcode, today it won’t let me. Some days I can add my own info, other days it won’t let me. Price of yearly subscription is £40+ but some days I get offers for £20/year. Other days £30/6 months. The random inconsistency puts me off buying the premium because who knows what I’ll get?! Will it block barcodes some days, and custom meals others? A bit pricey to chance it. Overall a good simple macro tracker.

In my past year of using this app it was very helpful and easy to use. Recently lots of things have been removed and now need a few to use. No monthly subscription but instead yearly.

i used this app everyday for 3 months with no payments needed and now it’s trying to charge me and i can’t even log any food. i cannot scan my food, can’t even press the search bar without it trying to make me pay $70, i can literally only log the amount of water i have. app fell off.
