What people like
- Super easy to switch moods quickly
- Sounds blend smoothly without annoying repeats
- Great for setting the right atmosphere
- Simple controls save prep time for DMs
What they complain about
- Free version feels like a broken demo
- Subscription price is way too high
- Downloads huge files but hides most sounds
- Audio often fails to play at all
Wonderful
Good for setting the mood. Perfect for describing actions and interactions. The players would often get worried and alert when I would suddenly change the mood to dark and suspicious when entering a cave. Works also very well for when going on a hike for some music 👍
“no universe available”
App opens, tells me there is no universe available and asks me to update. I click update, the prompt closes, and does nothing.
Great soundscapes!
I really like this app. I especially like the triangle volume/ambience controller.
Good when it works
I haven't used the app since my last update. When I did use it I thought it was great! Made my games more exciting for my players. Unfortunately I've got a problem where the app essentially reset and is asking me to select a universe when I boot it up. It proceeds to not show any universes! I'm kinda sad cause I was looking forward to using the app tonight for my weekly session but I can't.
Not sure
Whenever I open the app it says I need a universe but see no option to create one.
Amazingly produced ambience!
The packages of music, sounds, and ambience sound perfect for pretty much all the generic scenes I have in my campaigns! I’d have to say some of them are silly though like the zombie noises and screams, but the rest genuinely scratch that tension uneasy feeling for scary ambiences and the happy wholesome ambiences don’t annoy me like other happy ambiences I’ve encountered! Can’t wait for more samples!
Just doesn’t work
After downloading the app and content packs, the app doesn’t do the one thing it’s made to do, which is play audio.
Great app but struggling on iPad
Really like the app but I’m struggling to get it to recognise my subscription on my iPad, my iPhone is fine though. Any help on getting my sub on the iPad would be much appreciated, other than that I love it!
Didn’t work?
Didn’t seem to work, locations were blank, play button did nothing. Probably user error, but that in itself means a problem with design. If the app requires a subscription to function, that is a problem when someone wants to demo (not trial) the app. Would recommend a functional limited demo with no requirement to pay first if that’s the case. Free trial = payment; that is not a demo.
So underrated!!
I haven’t payed a dime and this app is so amazing and useful, there is so much free content and you get to control every aspect of the audio! You get to control the tone, the location, and the ambiance aside from music. There are even a few awesome sound effects. What I love most is how cleanly it transitions from different sounds. I WILL be using this in my DnD campaign. Absolutely phenomenal!
App does not play nice with other audio
Saw some ads, took a look for a phone app soundboard that was DnD themed. Couldn’t get any audio to play at all from the app. At first believed this may be an app bug. I tried clearing everything away and then attempted again: this time was successful in audio playing. HOWEVER, my need is to have a fantasy styled soundboard I can play behind my decade+ curated music for my DnD sessions. This app completely breaks if another audio app of my kind gets used. For someone new or not picky, this does fine I guess? I would recommend PocketBard over this though for a free user.
Nice
Great app. But subscription price is out of this world… I would rather pay higher one time price than this crazy price subscription
App doesn’t work without payment
I downloaded this app as I run my own homebrew campaign and wanted to play sounds/music without getting ads. I was throughly disappointed when I opened the app and the interface doesn’t work. Like nothing plays, despite clicking multiple buttons and settings. The only interface that seems workable is the “start trial” which isn’t a trial because you have to pay for it. This app would be massively improved if there was a limited, free version. Don’t be fooled by the “free” advertising.
Good idea, but…
I download 500mb of music i think. But i have only some songs into my app. I wrong somethink?
Game changer
I always WANT to do sound in my game but it’s been such a pain because there’s so much that happens and it takes so much effort to find all the different things. This app changed all that. There is so much room for adapting to situations and environments with such a simple interface. It made my game soooo much better and immersive. I’ll be using this app all the time.
Is there an update?
Unsure if there’s an update I missed, or perhaps in the works but, the music and sound only work intermittently. I did a test play before our game and it worked fine. Went to use it for the the game and was sorely disappointed. I did the usual, checked the Bluetooth connection, turned on and off all devices, I even deleted and re-downloaded the Table Tone app. It still will NOT play! I would really like to use this for our game.
Amazing!
I prefer the web, cause it has more sounds, but the app it’s ok.
Phone runs super hot
No idea how a simple audio app playing music can have these kinds of problems but here we are 🤷🏼♀️
Great app for TTRPG immersion!
I have constantly been searching for apps to use to play sounds and music during my TTRPG games. This app makes it so easy to adapt to the game when it goes sideways from what you are expecting. And let’s be honest, it ALWAYS goes sideways. The intuitive controls to let you seamlessly switch from location and mood is what makes this stand out. No searching playlists and trying to find the perfect sound, just one or two button pushes and you’re done! I highly recommend!!
controls don’t effect music , almost no sounds, music don’t fit
To little amount of music, seems like all these controls don’t effect it, music mostly don’t fit, can’t load any audio there, no battle mode, design is not too bad though but reminds soundtale, another clone with old tech…
Images included more
Great if you can’t find anything good on YouTube, but there is still a limited amount of music and doesn’t have everything that the images they show do. Maybe there is a specific way to get the other sounds but I can’t find it.
Its ok but battery
This app use a lot of battery
Incredibly Cool
I never write reviews but this is truly such a cool app, that I can only see getting better!
Interesting
One question: the app asks to download around 600 MB of sounds. I can see a lot of them in the downloaded section, but only a few are available in the app. Is there a way to use them all? Or, if not possible, a way to delete them and save more space?
Bug at startup
I’ve seen a lot of videos of this app, but on my iPhone 13pro when the app finishes the download of the content, the app goes in white screen and nothing happens.
Would pay for this app
I like this. If a subscription model between $2-$5 a month would help with development expansion the features of this app I would gladly pay.
This thing is awesome.
Player and DM her for 14 years. This is absolutely perfect. I can’t wait to see what new content comes up for this.
Great so far
As a DM that has so many hats and tasks to manage during a game, this app streamlines and is intuitive to use u like other options. Currently this app is new and selections are limited, but still offers enough variety for ambient noise that doesn't repeat itself, include adds, or take a bunch of preptime.
Low Reviews but I’ve Loved it
It does download a bunch of files after installing the app, so just be aware. Kinda freaked me out for a sec. I let it download and it’s super cool! I’m starting two campaigns here soon and I plan on connecting this to a speaker. Helps create ambiance. Excited to see how this further develops! I was skeptical, but I really like the app. 👍🏼👍🏼
