Original charm, music gone.
It’s like they took the original and sucked the soul out of it. Gone is the zaney kaiju theming - now there’s an obnoxious family feud-esque game show host. Now it wouldn’t be out of place among modern mobile game schlock.
Bring back endless mode!
Great to see this classic back in the App Store after so many years! The core gameplay, the look, the sounds are all essentially the same, but the only game mode is a short 2-minute game that ends right when the truly fun part is about to begin. There isn’t even an obvious reason not to, have an endless mode, as this is an Apple Arcade game that isn’t trying to get you to buy credits or manipulate you. Hope to see it happen!
Loved the original - this is unresponsive
I played the original SM8MC years ago & really enjoyed it. This, however, feels unresponsive & constantly interrupted by messages about the gameplay. I must admit it’s been a while since I played the original, but I’m not aware of any positive differences in this Apple Arcade version. Is this just another lazy port of an existing game from years back with ‘+’ added to the title? If so, how is this justified as part of a subscription package? After Smash Hit + seemingly being identical to Smash Hit, it’s beginning to look like this whole Apple Arcade monthly payment thing could be turning into a bit of a con. Please say it isn’t so. If it is, please do something drastic to change matters.

Disappointing coming back
Why is there a time limit?? Lots of cut scenes that should be easier to skip - if I press and hold to skip a cut scene it means I do not want to see the next one either.
Fun and frustrating
Each game starts slow and builds in intensity and chaos… and just when the fun really starts, the two minute timer is up and your game ends. It’s like a racing game where the tracks are so short that you reach the finish line before you’ve even had a chance to reach your top speed. It’s incredibly frustrating.
No endless mode ruins it
Title says it all, right when it starts getting good you get cut off. Come on, give us endless mode!!
A tad bit disappointed, but happy the game is back
Feels like more of a spin off of the original game. Gameplay is great. Unfortunately the time limit pretty much kills the fun. I don’t think I will sink as many hours as I did with the original super monsters since there is no endless mode. I hope the devs will fix this eventually.
Condos one of my favs
I have to say this. I miss the old days and adult swim games. With that said a few things this game is still great but in an update add endless mode back. The next thing, Robot Unicorn attack 2 or 3 + would be super dope! That is a great game sadly lost to the 64 bit reaping and apple removing solid titles that did not get updated. This one would be perfect for an apple arcade edition hell even a Robot Unicorn attack 4 one can dream.
Unsure why developers are ignoring our concerns/complaints.
This game is in dire need of an endless mode. What should be a fun spin on a childhood game feels more like a sad shell of what it used to be. This is nothing like the original.

I don’t normally like these kind of twitchy games, but this one is pretty fun. My only issue is that it didn’t take long to max out levels at 30 and collect all condo types, then the game just loses most of its replay value. With more levels and condos to unlock, it would be great.

Classic game ruined by an artificial 2 min time limit. It’s virtually impossible to get to the really high scoring combos in this amount of time. Happy to see this classic back but I wish they brought all the game modes back too.

Not super colorblind friendly
Sadly I had a lot of trouble getting started. The houses do have different designs, but it would be nice to have the option to put symbols on the houses and monsters.

Entertaining but limited
Why the level cap at 30? Due to the level cap, the goals become useless. This leaves you beating your highest score as the only motivation to continue playing.

This game is awesome I recommend all ages should play this game because it’s amazing for kids and adults Creativity and I am a kid but still I recommend this for everybody!👾🎮🕹️💖
Maybe a classic mode?
It a good game and I love that it has a comeback with the Apple Arcade. The original game is different gameplay, try to survive for long as you can and don’t let the tower fall. There is an opportunity combine both games into one or sell them both on the Apple Store.

Super monster ate my condo is a cute💕 game to play with lots of boosts to help you along the way. The game runs smoothly with a simple swipe to left or swipe to right method. I would recommend this game to any casual app game user.
Fun, but not colorblind friendly
Game is fun and addicting, but it would be nice to be able to have a more varied colored for the condos. There are two I can’t tell apart and can’t play the game.

Fun
The game is really fun but it’s so frustrating how it ends right as the timer goes out. I understand that’s the way of the game but maybe let the player finish the rest of the tower or something. I’m having fun getting combos then it’s just an immediate end and it kills the fun.

Great but Missing Something
A fantastic blast from the past- the nostalgia is real! However- it’s unfortunately lacking an endless mode. Although the timed game is indeed fun it’d be great to have a longer play session if you’re skilled enough. Perhaps an addition for the future?
