My iPod is back!
Wow amazing job guys! Where can I donate so you can continue to support and update this app?
rnm，退钱！！！
。。gun吧
Nearly perfect so far!
I love this app. There are two devices, and I am super in favor of the “classic 2008 MP3 player”. I actually replaced my Apple music app with it on the Home Screen just because of how good it is. One bug I did notice is that sometimes the covers in the slideshow preview on the right will rapidly flicker instead of slowly fade. Hope that gets fixed. Wishlist: +Add Podcasts and Books (audio books) support to the 2008 MP3 player. +Add the classic 2008 MP3 player games (Breakout, Snake I think, etc) if possible. +Add photo mode to the camera for 2008 MP3 player. +Add the ability to listen to “radio” or basically just Apple Music. +Add contrast slider to retro boy (not a firm request would just be fun). +Add other options for viewing music to Retro Boy. Overall: worth the three bucks and absolutely worth tipping to the dev for.
This app was amazing until now
This app was awesome and I recommended it to so many people, but now they introduced a subscription pro model. For an app that you already had to pay for I find it ridiculous that you’d even ask for a subscription, but that wouldn’t even be so bad if it didn’t pop up CONSTANTLY! I don’t care how cheap the sub is, it’s only like $5 a year, but if I don’t want to pay for it I shouldn’t have to see the pop up so often.
I love it
Give us a lifetime option in case crapple decides to get rid of it :(
Apple take note
Dear Apple, Apple Music sucks…I’m sorry to say. I don’t like being negative, but it’s true. I’m a fairly calm person but using Apple Music makes me angry. This app is well made, reasonably priced, and calming!
Looks great but not playing
Great looking app with great navigation, but nearly every time I try to play a song from a playlist I get the message “something went wrong”
MyPod theme
Nice, got the app specifically for the MyPod theme. Unfortunately no seek function as in the original which is the primary reason I got the app. Can that be added?
None of the covers load
Literally all I wanted to do was take screenshots of the songs I play here and there. I paid $0.99 for an App, the least it could do is work properly. If you don’t wait a day the covers won’t appear and that’s such a waste at that point.
Ok but
I assumed I’d be able to add my own music files (FLAC)… didn’t realize I was tied only to the music I purchased from iTunes 20 years ago…
Local Files?
As everybody else has stated already, the player is amazing! Feels great! Just wish you could add to it from our already saved local files instead of only relying on Apple Music. Just a thought :)
Fogitaboutit
Never worked properly. Certainly not at all in 18.3. just frozen. A dud and a waste of money.
iPod
Works well as a iPod. One improvement would be for it to maintain the playlist order. Would make it 5 star.
Spotify
Support for Spotify premium would be greatly appreciated.
Nice but could be better
First, I upgraded to the pro version at 5.99/yr. Not exactly sure what I paid for. Unless I am missing something I saw no perceptible difference from the free version. Otherwise it would be cool if there was a sort by “Album Artists” option, a shuffle songs within an album or playlist option, and in cover flow it displayed the album artist name as well as the album title.
Perfect app
Please don’t change the iPod. It’s perfect.
Looks nice—but won’t play songs
Sure looks nice and the haptics are great. But every time I try to play a song—ANY song—I get “Something went wrong. Try again. Confirm”. So this was a waste of $3. Hoping this gets fixed.
Take me back!!!
Totally love it, haptics are good, feels like the old times! I will agree it needs faster scrolling to get through songs and albums but honestly, I don’t know what else would make this better except if you were able to add a game or two and be able to scrub through the song to get to a specific part quicker. Recommend this so much. ❤️
Cheat code not working
I entered the cheat code and checked the settings for the ipod theme and nothing worked
Not working properly
Its not working for me when i enter the code
Everything’s great and I love it, but
Please make this available in the widget Smith and shortcuts app so I can put it cute on my screen please please please
I need help
I bought this because of the retro iPod console but the code is not working I need help on how do I get the retro iPod
Tidal Supoort
Make it work for Tidal please
Don’t work
I was unable to connect the app to my Spotify despite being told multiple times that I could I like the idea but make it able to connect to Spotify
Greedy
This app is paid, yet you can’t remove the donate option from the home screen without paying more.
wonderful iPod experience
pls pls pls continue to take care of this apps development! now i don’t need to buy a physical iPod, I am satisfied.
Forces you to use albums
Forces you to use the album category, cannot jump straight from album to artist like the original, i have 14 albums by 1 artist, i dont want to dig through all 14 albums to see the works of 1 artist, so this app is effectively worthless l.
Neat!
Really cool and throwback for 90’s kids, it’d be even better if you could have that as default on the Lock Screen
Excellent Look and Feel
I still have and use two fully functioning iPod Classics, and this onscreen recreation is spot on. Unfortunately, I can’t access any of the 8,800+ songs on my iPhone, because there is no Settings option to access the folders in my Files list. (On my iPhone, they are stored in a folder called Flacbox.) The original iPod Classic had no network access of any kind. Apparently, this version has nothing other than network access, and does not support local access of any kind. How the times have changed.
Needs Spotify
Smooth app, works well…missing Spotify feature
Almost perfect
The touch wheel is WAY too sensitive. It’s very difficult to precisely select what I’m looking for due to how fast and unpredictable the classic touch wheel is. I Love this, app And I hope this is fixed. Because I never want to stop using it. PLEASE FIX THIS
Bring back the iPod why is this now a game boy
I miss the iPod. Please bring it back
Fix Bugs
It is a great thought, but the actual App Icon does not end up on my Home Screen after payment. I have to go back to the App Store and click on ‘Open.’ Why don’t I see it after payment and download? Where is it hiding?
Avoid
The app does not work. It’s very clunky does not live up to expectations.
inconsistent
as much as I love the app, it is kind of frustrating to wake up every day to have to reset it back to the classic theme. idk if it’s a glitch or not but it’s beginning to make the payment seem worthless lol
Retro iPod Music Player!
Great skin of a music player. iPod nostalgia. Love the app. Free is good. I donated just to support the developer. It’s great how it is, but other skins would be a great addition.
Thank God i didn’t update.
Originally this was a mod for a ipod mp3 player to play songs that’s on your apple music. Now its a gameboy?? No thanks. I’ll just not update.
Perfect in nearly every way.
As an avid user of classic iPods and other media players, this is the best of both worlds. However locking it to only Apple Music is a real shame. Whether it’s using YouTube, Spotify, or another platform, adding more services would make this truly perfect.
Confused
This was an iPod app now it’s a game boy app ?
Nice interface, but….
It can’t distinguish between playlist folders and playlists. It shows me all the folders, everything inside in one big list, no playlists, then I scroll down and there are the playlists, with no indication which folders they are in. Also, on my iPhone SE it will not play MP3 files, only AAC and M4a files, but on my iPod Touch it plays all the formats (I think). Needs work, but I like it.
Replay 1 song
Great product, but can you please add a replay one song feature next to the shuffle?
????
App completely changed after latest update??
Feel is great, features can be improved
The retro feel of a GameBoy or a classic iPod is exactly what you would expect on a slab of glass. Haptics are great to imagine what the feel of each device should be like. Music selection needs different options for what order things are played. Only real options for order are shuffle from main menu of entire library, top-down from selected albums, or A-Z in playlists. It's slightly frustrating that playlists created in Apple Music don't translate 1:1 into this app, because I have some playlists that work best from the specific order I arranged them in, and instead this app automatically arranges the playlists from A-Z. More options for how users would like their music to be played would be greatly appreciated to truly replicate the classic iPod feel, as well as keeping user-created playlists exactly as they were intended from the Apple Music app.
Meh
It looks cool but plz make it work with Spotify
Cool app, camera function not working
Love the look and feel of the app, only complaint is the camera mode doesn't work! Already granted all the necessary permissions, but the app crashes when I try to select the camera feature.
Love it
10/10 been looking for years for an app like this!
Bait and switch
This used to be a nice iPod simulator that let you play music and looked great. I go to use it today after having had it a couple months, only to discover it has changed to a “retro game console” that doesn’t work and doesn’t play any music.
Great spp but missing Spotify
It's great. The haptic and interaction transform your phone into an iPod Classic. I just wish we coule connect Spotify as well.
No
It’s a great app, but can’t play it with Spotify
Spotify support missing
Please please please just make Spotify available too. I don’t own apple music but bought your app in hope it will 🥹
