Why does it ask for Bluetooth?
Not happening!
Can’t make bluetooth work
I tried the 3-day free trial of the useful features. Gave up after too much frustration trying to connect an IC-705 to an apple phone. Phone says IC-705 is not supported. IC-705 sees phone but won’t connect. None of the RepeaterBook help is helpful. Not worth the hassle of fighting with this. Will just enter repeaters manually for free.
Information not correct
I’ve installed the Android version and it’s OK, but the iOS version is still wrong. VA2XGA is not 448.100 but 448.075 MHz (cc1), even after several months.
Do they do app updates

Very good but gmrs is lacking a bit
This app is extremely useful but it would be nice to show the gmrs channel in addition to the frequency so newer users don’t gotta memorize the channel’s frequencies
Confusing
This app doesn’t have the same names for repeaters as MyGmrs app.
DMR Info
DMR information is nonexistent. Color code is provided but that’s it. Back to using their website. Please add that information.
Location Missing Edit
I could give this more stars but I’m not able to edit my location. I’m at the mercy of my provider which has me located hundred+ miles away. We need to be able to enter our own grid coordinates.
How to set my location
So, I've been trying on and off for quite a while to figure out how to set my location in this app (if there is such a way), but not had much luck. I find it weird that this app shows very local repeaters to me (within a couple miles of my location) 'showing' as being 7,800 miles away. I am in California, and am trying to get my location to show that, but it doesn't. This makes the app very annoying to use.
Wonderful Resource
After years of struggling through cumbersome written repeater guides to find machines in a given area, I happened to hear the author of Repeater Book in an interview on my favorite HR podcast and the rest, as they say, is history. What an incredibly powerful yet easy-to-use resource, and free. I do donate occasionally and urge others to do the same. This app is a obviously a labor of love in service of our great hobby and nowhere close to being a get-rich plan. My hat’s off to Repeater Book and its creator.
Closed off to innovation
RepeaterBook taking crowd sourced data and preventing fair use. Not cool.
Handy
Handy tool, just text of the freqs, has location services to find close by repeaters etc.
Finding repeaters around you isn’t easy
Anytime I try to use the location feature to find repeaters around me, it shows a list no where near me. Searching by the repeater name shows 6.4m away, so why doesn’t this show up when I use the location feature? Poorly designed app.
Needs to include Coverage range
The app itself is pretty good, gets you off all the ads on the website. However, the text for each repeater doesn’t include the range. When traveling, I still end up having to use the website. Last thing I want to do is program in a repeater for an area and have the repeater only have a 5 mile coverage when I could have picked one that has 45 miles! I’ve chosen poorly.
Indispensable
Love this book. Use this wherever I go.
Useless for GMRS
I’ve tried looking up repeaters that I know exist, on the GMRS band. Found none of them. Even one that only lists on RepeaterBook. That I found on the desktop/web app. Even though I specifically filter for GMRS, it still gives only Ham repeaters. So, I can only give it a 1.
Great App
Awesome app. However, when I try to log into the repeaterbook.com website, I have a problem logging into that. Not only that, there is really no help files on the site that will help me get logged in so I can use my laptop occasionally.
Missing repeaters
Would it be possible to add the rest of the info from the website?
Decent app for finding repeaters
It’s definitely a decent app for finding repeater info, but it’s missing a lot of info for DMR repeaters that’s available on the listings on the RepeaterBook site. It would be fine if each listing had a link to the full listing on the website, but without that, it’s worthless for DMR use.

This app works great! Author keeps the database current, filtering works just how you want and Developer also answers email!!!
Newest version does not work on my ipad
I have downloaded numerous versions of this app over the years without problem. This lates one transferred non of my information loaded in the previous version. I cannot even seem to load my location. Will look for another app if this does not get fixed. K2PHD - FN20qv
Great app but current problem
This is a great app for every radio and scanner operator but right now there happens to be a problem, it is not showing 2 meter repeaters that are close, I know of two local repeaters that are normally on the app but the only way to see these repeaters is to search the frequency to see them, besides that it always works
Not for MAC / IOS
While the necessary information is available, and convenient, on a MAC/IOS platform it does not label which is the Tx or Rx frequency. Labels would be extremely helpful for each line item displayed.
Give 3 stars right now
If you can sort digital modes out with a better display, I will consider 5 stars. Also, some repeaters so not have a tone or using non standard offsets, they are annoying please highlight them in red.
Love it - One Suggestion
Finding repeaters near me and as a breeze and the search criteria are perfect. One thing though, when we click on a repeater to see the Detroit would be great if you had the “field names” of descriptions for each value for help with programming…
My opinion!
I thought it would be like the web sight (RepeaterBook.com), but with more. Not case, very underwhelming!
ham radio Clubs
I gave it four stars because I would love to see ‘CLUB’ Repeaters highlighted in organe or yellow. Most of the repeaters work as advertised but you don’t know which one belongs to a club especially on a long road trip? 🤷♂️ That would be a nice feature to add. Just my opinion/thoughts.
Limited Offline usage, especially w/o GPS
Wanted to search and review local repeaters, especially for APRS support - but could not while offline and a/o location services. Main issues with this app: 1. Does not support offline (OSM) maps 2. Requires location services to see map 3. Repeater filter does not include APRS 4. Does not support copy and paste of the Repeater text
Getting better
This app has improved continually and is recommended. Unfortunately there is the issue of reliable updates to ensure accuracy and a better search and find process to identify repeaters within bands and service types. While the search function is huge leap it’s still hard to rely on because of having to first check off service and band types which are unknown to begin. I recommend the use of color to separate FM DMR etc. Readers can submit new found repeaters.
Updates, and super useful
Thanks for developing, and maintaining, RepeaterBook. I’m new to amateur radio and this is very helpful, especially if I’m going on a trip. I can pre-program for my route, both thumbs are up!
What repeaters?
Have not used it in awhile but then re-downloaded it to an iPhone. No matter what I try, it lists no repeaters. Not sure if it is a phone setting or me but it is pretty useless for me.
Needs an update!
I find that repeaters are often missing important information that is available on the website. I understand that this app has been optimized for offline use (fantastic) but this lack of information is inconsistent. Some repeaters are well documented online but poorly in the app. Missing information like EchoLink # and DMR settings. But others are fantastically documented. To the developers I would suggest defaulting to the website and using the database as a backup. Or providing a link on to the website on the repeater info page. I really appreciate the simplicity in searching. I wish the repeater book website were this simple! I want to keep my review focused on the app. Your website is hard to search but has fantastic data! Your app has incomplete data but has amazing and fast search! you have a winning combo here. But this falls a bit too short. Edit: +1 star for not collecting data and using location only when using the app.
Website lists repeaters that the iOS doesn't show.
For example KH7MS or WH6DEW for DMR. Website does show both for DMR, App doesn't show any on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Nice idea, shame about the finish.
Works well when connected but the accuracy of the map and station locations leaves something to be desired. Has anybody who publishes this, checked to see if the location of the labeled repeaters are in the right place. There are two shown in the middle of the Irish sea and one of them is German, for a start!
Good info great price
This has an excellent array of useful information. I have a sense it is not always bleeding-edge up to date, but it meets my needs.
Horrible.
If you go online on a computer you can access a fantastic list of repeaters, use the app and you get gibberish. Many repeaters missing. The website detects a phone and refuses to show you any information except that you can download this near useless app...
Very good app
This app is a great way to find repeaters and updates to the database are frequent! A map for repeater locations would be cool.

Must have and go to for any ham!
Handy little database of repeaters in your area. Great for searching for where you’ll be or traveling through. East to use and copy information off. Love the ability to use location to find near repeaters, and know which direction, and how far away they are. Definitely recommend. Easier on Mobile to use than the website on mobile. Even works offline! A must have and go to for any ham!
Something’s Badly Wrong
The mobile app has been clunky and not nearly as responsive as the online application. But, after a recent update, with no filters it now tells me that - suddenly - there are no repeaters within 200 miles of my location. Something is very badly wrong.
User Interface Needs Improvement
This app gets the job done, but the layout, colors, etc, could be much easier to read/use.
