Country Waling
Excellent magazine , covering all aspects of walking in the countryside.
Useless
Won a 12month subscription with 02. Pass code accepted but can’t set up a password because security code doesn’t arrive after 7 attempts even using a different email. Customer service don’t even reply when asked for help.
Love walking love the Mag
Excellent informative magazine about my favourite hobby.
Slow & primitive app
A useful mag ruined by a slow and primitive app. It has to download and 'process' completely before you can start to read the mag although will do this in the background. With the one back issue I've downloaded (May 2013) it also seems to have none of the refinements you see in many other mag apps these days - no hyperlinks, no pop-up mini pages or table of contents and no bookmarking. In fact, all you get is page turning and nothing else, you cant even exit the mag back to its library or Newsstand. You have to minimise the app, clear it from the list of running apps and then restart Newsstand to get back to the apps library list. The subscription cost is also way too high at £34.99 - so this one copy is all I will be buying.
Slooowww
The App is useful because it means you don’t have to carry a briefcase with all the magazines, but it isn’t really an App. It’s more a way of reading print magazines on a tiny screen where the pages of the walks are always the wrong orientation. Searching is poor. You can search all day for a place that you know is covered by a walk without finding it. To be honest, you’re better off reading the printed magazine and then following the route on the Ordnance Survey App which is very good.
Total failure
I don't often write reviews but this one is must. I gave one star, but it should be below zero if possible. I have been reading CW for 5 years when I decided to change into digital subscription. For several months it worked pretty well. Until the very last upgrade. What a total failure. I did all the suggested moves, but my access is still not working. The app is constantly asking me to subscribe. I even don't have access to the issues which I PAID for!!! It recognises me as a user, it confirms the purchases are restored, I can see my bookmarks but that's it. I am not able to open a single one of my issues. It feels like they were stolen from me. So no, thank you but not any more. I have just cancelled my digital subscription.
Login is hopeless
Every time i log in i have to reset password, more trouble than it’s worth!
Interesting, informative & inspiring
The title says is all really - if you like walking and you love the countryside then indulge your passion even when you're on the bus on the way to work on a dreary Tuesday morning. Get tips on places to walk, things to see etc. If you're into your walking it's a no-brainier really.
Some Frustration
Always enjoyed the magazine, thought I’d try the online version, couple of things which need to be addressed: 1. Reading the routes on a tablet is a nightmare, and a printable version of the routes would be a great feature. 2. You can’t fill the crossword in
No longer works
Thanks for changing it
Terrible
Never works
Loving the app and new rewards
Great app since it had been updated, can read the features so much better and love the audio feature so I can listen to the articles, special content picked by the editor and the rewards!!!
Subscription payment doesn’t guarantee access
Be careful with these people. My wife bought me an annual subscription for my birthday as I had cancelled last year. Whatever I did app or website I could login but on accessing content I was asked to re subscribe for £54.99. Rang customer services and told it was a known problem with no timeframe for a fix.
Lovely mag
Since the enigmatic and somewhat legendary new editor, Guy, appeared on the scene, this mag has improved no end. There nearly always routes & walks you’ve not tried near to you, and ideas for further afield. Would be nice if the app could be a bit more interactive, but still, if you’re into the more genteel side of the great outdoors, this is a lovely, well-crafted magazine with fab pics & traditional journalism at its best. Enjoy!
App is useless
Downloaded app (iphone13) try to log in, keeps opening up in safari (which I rarely use but it forces it rather than my preferred browser (chrome), log in, doesn’t redirect back to app, go back to app and still not logged in. Stuck in a loop simply to log in to an app. It can’t be that hard to have log in on the app without the redirect surely?!? 1⭐️ until I can actually use the app!
Like it
I've purchased 1 issue and I'm really pleased with it, I think I'll be downloading future issues too.
How to activate a subscription
My wife purchased a subscription using some Tesco vouchers. I’ve followed the instructions in the confirmation email from Bauer Media regarding downloading the app and creating an account. However, the instructions then talk about using the customer number in the email to somehow activate the subscription. The app does not seem to indicate where to do this so currently we can’t access the subscriber content. I’ll write a proper review once I’m able to actually use the app but at the moment it’s more than a little frustrating that the instructions don’t match what’s in the app….
Great
Great to have it available on an iPad to read anywhere
Thanks for nothing Tesco
Can someone please tell me how to use the code Tesco gave for three months off, also how much this actually costs, as there is nothing to tell you & how do I cancelled it... Thankyou Don't want to rate I know nothing about it yet but forced to give a rating to send this.Sooo 1 minus at least 3.
Great and informative
This is a great magazine with some very good and informative articles.
Mike
Absolutely awful performance in recent months. Magazines payed for can’t be viewed, and continually asks you to subscribe or log in. Extremely poor user experience. Doesn’t deserve one star.
An expensive subscription to preview magazines
Things worked well for a while but recently something has happened and despite having an active subscription I can only preview the magazines I have paid for. Contacted support who haven’t been able to help. Avoid and try physical media!
Updated App Awful
The updated app which used to be clunky is not even useable now. I have the print + digital subscription, but stuck in and endless loop of being logged in, go to archive, click on a issue, to be told I need to subscribe, why? So I try and login, and the endless loop continues. Why when I am logged in is the create account option even visible on the menu, seems to suggest that maybe I’m not logged in, but I am as there is a logout button. This app has been out for ages too, but it still looks and feels like a beta version.
