Too many women who probably aren’t real. You pay for a subscription and then you have to pay more just to see who likes you and be able to communicate with users on the app. You’ll get 50 likes you can’t see in just a few days and then pay to reveal those likes and they all end up being not real people.

too much premium stuff
Match Group ruined HER
First of all, if you get blocked by someone you matched with because they’re a transphobe and don’t read, you still are forced to see them for 10 days in your messages. No ability to delete. So they self ruined the app for the next week and a half. Worst of all, HER was advertised on OkCupid, which I saw, that ad brought a ton of straight guys to this little lesbian bar, if you will. Now it’s overrun with straight guys harassing us. In the last week or so, way more straight guys liked me than women, extremely unusual. Or used to be! They trashed our space. It was such a nice experience. But Match Group is bigoted af anyway. They ruined dating. NEVER GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. They don’t deserve it.
Bait and switch
Seriously I used to like this app, but they have made it practically mandatory to have premium to get anything out of it. I am easing into things and got gold so I could just explore and see how I fit with it, but every connection, seeing who connects, is hidden behind an even higher paywall. If that’s the case then just have premium since that seems to be the only level that allowed for anything. I feel a little bit like they were bait and switching with what was possible to accomplish with the gold. It would be more transparent and better for users if they just skipped the games. I won’t be coming back.

Constant Spam Messages
Do not get this app you will be constantly getting email after email from them. I blocked their email sent it to Spam filtered it and there’s no way out of it. It has been reported but do not get this app.
Great when the person is real
The app is great but the chat is a little buggy and doesn’t refresh well. I have to go out and back in often. My biggest issue is the abundance of fake profiles. If I talk to 10 connections, 8 of them are fake people trying to get your off app to chat for a scam. Yes, they are fake and soon after you refuse they block you. HER needs to verify people better that they are real. An email just isn’t enough. Other apps do better.

A like from a fake account almost every hour. Sure there are a few real people here, but is it worth it?
App needs scammer controls
I like the app, but the amount of scammer accounts have been overwhelming this recently. Fake accounts from China especially. We need an option to Geo Block regions of origin. Also we should be able to report an account that has been unmatched. This is their MO, get you on another app and they unmatch you. After the scam, you can’t report them to HER.

Basic free version but you can message and like people, seems a wide variety of people which is good and clear about what their intentions are
Transphobic app
The T4T filter is free for a certain number of profiles every week but after you reach that limit it says “see more curated profiles with Her Premium.” So essentially you have to pay to filter for T4T? Technically cis lesbians would have to pay to filter only for cis lesbians I guess but they functionally don’t need to cuz they make up the vast majority of users anyway

overall pretty good dating app but i have two main qualms. 1. there’s no leftist political option, only liberal or other which certainly do not cut it. 2. WHY ON EARTH ARE THERE CIS MEN ON THIS APP

I have to wait 24 hours to look at the people that like me or that leave a note. I’m not paying for the subscription. I’ve tried a lot of dating apps, this one is by far the worst.
Putting basic stuff behind paywalls is kinda cringe.
This app is a good place for queer people, but I feel like the paywalls for certain features are kinda unnecessary. Also, can you please make that question about height optional, because I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person here who has no idea how tall they actually are?

This is much better than the other apps I have used. Only complaint is they will ban you for no reason sometimes? Maybe if it gets reported they just have to look into it first but that was annoying. Besides that it’s wayyy better then any others I have used

not enough good to out-weigh the bad
not really useable unless you are trying to pay monthly. There are multiple other apps you can use if you are specifically looking for wlw. Half of the people i have swiped on are either AI photos, Photos from influencers, or Cis Men. Why is that a problem? why are they not doing mandatory verification on these people? also the layout is really weird to use. If they are able to change the layout, require face checks, and give us more free options, maybe i’ll change my mind.

I decided to give it 3 stars because in the six years I’ve been a continuous member of the app, it’s never changed for the better. The chat, community, and likes features are nice and entertain you but it’s not enough. Too many people are catfishing, the trans women look like full on men or straight men are simply there. There’s a lot of couple and people in general looking for hookups. Some of them try to deceive you by selecting certain tags and hide the fact they’re already dating and are basically there to cheat. It’s full of horny and I mean extremely horny women that love to post nudes and are simply looking for exchanging or sex. It’s overly saturated but the minute you call it out your account is silenced, you’re reported, you’re banned. It’s tiring and very disappointing to be on there. Very few good and honest people are left and the app developers or whoever is behind it doesn’t do enough to fix the problem. I don’t understand how they allow nudes and porn links but they’ll ban you call out the system. For example if you complain that there are straight men on there or catfishes you’ll be silenced by moderators.

Great idea, poor execution
It'd probably be my favorite dating app if it wasn't such a drag to use. The notification badge always shows silly high numbers, the chats are a little clunky to manage (unmatched chats stay in your inbox and can't be removed) and the worst for me, it forces me to use the horrible stock apple keyboard. They don't automatically make you verify and there's a lot of scammers too. The idea and functionality, other than these pain points, are great. Definitely the least predatory feeling of the ones I tried.

I’m already having a issue with the app can’t update the app
Safe space, imperfect app
HER is easily the dating app I feel safest on as a genderqueer lesbian, and that’s important, but certain features feel lacking. The biggest issue is that monogamy/non-monogamy filters are paywalled, which frustrates both monogamous and non-monogamous users. As a side issue, the kink selections feel limited. However, I do love this app, and my primary goal with this review is to bring these issues to the attention of the awesome people who work on this app and let anyone considering downloading know the pros and cons.
Wanted to like it
I really wanted to like this app. As a trans woman, dating apps can be a scary place. Seeing a queer friendly app made me hopeful for a good experience. The biggest problem for me, is that you can not filter anything other than age and distance without paying for premium. I understand apps need to make money to stay running, but after 15 minutes of swiping without finding anyone my type I gave up.

The app isn’t too bad but there are way too many men on there …considering it is Leabian dating … who is actually keeping an eye on these profiles? Doesn’t feel like the safe space for lesbians I thought it would be!

They do not respond to emails
Have been sending emails regarding a cancellation for 3 weeks requesting a refund and a cancellation of the subscription and no one has gotten back to me!

The apps quite good. The free version is better than the free version of most other dating apps…however the people on Her are interesting. There doesn’t seem to be many policies in place to keep people safe. The app is full of cishet men being creepy af. Another issue is that the only people who like my profile are all significantly older than me looking for ‘sugar babies’ (I’m 18 and this is quite creepy). It’d be good if the creators of Her made it so you could change your settings so your profile is only shown to people of a specific age. But besides that it’s a good app, would definitely recommend if you can deal with the creepy people lol

Flooded with scams
At first I could really appreciate the app and the space it holds for everyone but cis men. It’s almost perfect. But there are so many “sugar mommy” scams on the app that it makes it almost unsuable. I would say on average 9/10 of my likes are from these scam accounts that are trying to take your money. I wish the developers would filter these things out or give an option to filter out keyboard s in peoples profiles. Until this issue is resolved I would say the app is fine as long as you are prepared to deal with this frustration
poorly made
i like what you're trying to do but my god was the app vibe-coded? its so buggy. messages aren't even delivered as soon as they're sent, which means you'll send a message and refresh and see they sent a message before you, so they'll get confused and so on.. which makes it hell to communicate.
I met my wife using this app
It was easy to use and talk to people, I did pay for premium to make messages easier to use but it was worth every penny as I met my wife here. Three years later and not one single regret!

impossible to use without subscription
App is good, i like that it is dedicated to preserving the wlw community but it doesn’t let you see who has liked you unless you pay an obscene amount of money for a subscription or wait 24 hours every 3 likes you open and there’s no control over which likes they are. There’s also no way to filter out age preference or location so I’m wasting my time clicking through likes from 40 yr old women from a different state when I want to be looking at likes from girls my age and in my town.

I used to really like this app for being able to meet lovely woman but now it’s just filled with men and I’m not talking gay or trans. I’m talking full-fledged men looking for women. Downloaded with the hopes of finding company. 99% of the profiles that “like” me are bots pretending to be sugar mommies. You can’t see more than five people who “like” you at a time, and almost every time I ever did get to view them, four out of the five people were always bots or scams. If you’re a broke collage kid, don’t waste your time on this app. Just not worth it.
