Did not work
Expensive. Charged in USD not AUD
Disappointed
Once came with a choice of countries now you have only fastest which for Australia is Australia the MOST shut down country in the world. Impossible to get anything now. Great decision guys. Would not get a sub bc of this move. 🙁

Still luv'n the bear
2025 Edit: Split VPN is nice but it would be soo awesome if the split could work the other way where only certain sites were routed through the VPN e.g. BBC UK but not everything else. And then in the future, certain VPN servers for certain destination e.g UK VPN termination point for BBC UK, US termination point for Comedy Central etc. Original review: Works so well, ez interface, and good endpoints (not banned by companies so vids with regional blocking etc work). It would be amazing if you could buy a data block for those months where you only want to look at a few things.
Cannot verify
When I try to open the link to verify, it doesn’t load at all and therefore I can’t even login properly. I tried to open the link from all websites available (chrome, google, safari- all the same: just a blank loading page)
;(
It was such a great app for many years. Sad that it suddenly became subscription-based and there is not a single free option for foreign country VPN access. You could’ve left one-two options free. Will probably have to search for a new VPN app.
Free Plan Glitch
It’s a nice app and has most basic VPN functions however there are glitches for the free plan as often it just tells me I’ve used all my free plan quota for the month (2GB) even though I haven’t used the VPN that month at all.
doesnt connect
the app worked perfectly before but now its just not connecting
-
Terrible
It's a waste of time. Don't download it as it is not like before. Unless you pay a big quantity of money but you still get a poor service.
So easy and smooth
This this one of the easiest VPN to use, and it works! Honestly, I recommend it යයය
Too restrict now
I used to give TunnelBear 5 stars until they restricted all the regions in the free version. Now became useless, especially for people who use VPN very occasionally. Still a great app tho, but only if you pay, so I’ll uninstall it.
Easy to use and fast browsing
Great for the inexperienced VPN users as it’s simple, fast and not complicated at all to use. Free for first 2gb and had a quick browsing speed! 👌
POOR THAT FREE ACCOUNTS BEEN REDUCED FUNCTIONALITY
I HAD A FREE ACCOUNT, VERY LIMITED GB, FOR OVER 10 YEARS, ONLY USING IT OCCASIONALLY FOR STUDY PROJECTS. I ALWAYS SUPPORTED ITS SPONSORS. SINCE THE FREE VERSION NOWDAYS DISABLED SELECTING ANOTHER LOCATION/COUNTRY, (IT USED TO BE FREE TO DO) I SADLY DELETED TUNNERBEAR. I DOWNLOADED A FREE APP WORKING AWESOME, AND THERE ARE SO MANY FREE (AND BUILT IN ONES) SO WHY BOTHER WITH TUNNELBEAR ANYMORE? ITS SAD WRECKING WHAT USED TO BE A GOOD VPN APP.
This is a good app
Quality app I recommend
i don’t know about this…
its a good free vpn BUT my ‘data’ ran out in less than a day. i like your icon customisation though
I forgot my password
Works very well except I forgot my password and whenever I try resetting it it says that something went wrong, all these passwords I try to use are 8+ characters with numbers and capitals Why
Love it
It's worth getting just for the bears, but been trying it the free tier and it works a treat.

TunnelBear
Very pleased because it does what it says it will. Had it free to try it. Then paid for one month while overseas with three iOS 9 devices. Now I pay for annual on 5 iOS devices. Still very easy to set up and use.
Paid features
I was fine with it forcing you to only be able to use one place but i close the app and then opened it back up again to see i was logged out? i log back in and check and i’m forced to use the fastest connection and i can’t do any other place for free, no pick one area and it’s permanently like that just you are forced to be in the same country you usually are completely defeating the purpose of a vpn in my opinion, this is incredibly scummy.
Very strange!
Fed up with NORD VPN because it kept wanting me to go to its site and sign in I resubscribed to Tunnelbear after 2 years. Now I find that every connection routes through Denmark! I live in Australia yet when I select Australia the line goes from Denmark to Australia. I have no idea where I am connected!
Cool app
You can change the app icon, all the cute little animations, the Bear is cool
All servers are subscription only (except your own country)
All servers are subscription only (except your own country)
Sometimes connected to the wrong country
I chose Latvia and connected it, but it was actually Kazakhstan.
bring GhostBear to iOS
TunnelBear is MAINLY an amazing app and I’ve had it downloaded for a while now. But a major (for me) downfall since I visit china every year is that the feature “ghostbear” isn’t for iOS. Please bring it to ios devices. Thank you.

Locked Down Server Choice
Used to be good but they recently make nearly everything unavailable in the free version. So it’s time to change VPNs I guess.
Disconnects constantly
I subscribed to the paid version and would have kept paying for it but after a couple of days l noticed servers in Australia and NZ were dropping out frequently, sometimes as soon as l was connected. It seems overseas servers don’t do that or not as much anyway but then the connection is extremely slow so l have to let it go. Also since I’ve cancelled my subscription it’s as slow as a snail now, not even worth using. Disappointed!
One of the best free VPN’s
High quality free vpn, that allows you to connect to many servers across the world. May even be the only one of its kind. Even though there is a GB limit, I very much appreciate the fact it allows you to do so much on “trial”, compared to other free models of paid vpns ( very limited). May consider buying just because of this.
Free version sucks
Used the free gig for years and they made it inaccessible from your own country. I’m not paying for a VPN when I rarely use it.
Crashed!!
It’s app on iPhone isn’t starting
Great VPN ^^
The app is simple to navigate and the bear animations are so cute! The servers are fast to connect as well, coming from someone in China
No longer useable
No free option except for “fastest” dud app.
