Hello love this app but it's coming to hunting season and the new regulations for 2026-2028 are not uploaded to the app. So I will have to find a different one to use if it isn't updated soon.
It’s great. No subscriptions, needs an update
One of the last great apps I use without a subscription. It needs an update. I love how I can use everything offline. If the nickel and dimes don’t work, I’d pay $5 a year for this. Or next time the creator is in Revelstoke, I’ll get them a beer.

Incredible detail on maps
Download different resolutions and layers for offline use. Medium resolution is absolutely fine for exploring and atv’ing new areas. Still Use it all the time when i head out to new country.

I love using the app but it really needs a built in compass to view at the top of the page.

Great for anything off-road
Not just for hunting!! I use this app for elevations and dirt biking trails. It’s literally got everything on it. It shows you public roads, FSR’s, gravel roads, dirt bike trails, man made trails, hiking trails, and all camping spots. It labels everything and it’s extremely easy to navigate. This app even allows you to click on a certain camping spot and see what there is to do there. Whether or not there is a fire ban, or, if the campsite is open/closed. Idk what you can’t do on this app but it isn’t much. Buy the full package. 100% worth the money.

What’s going on?
I’ve been using Hunt Buddy for years and love it but lately I’ve noticed that they are not updating the information in a timely fashion. The LEH Synopsis and Hunting Regulations are out dated. They always had the Elk Bugle to notify you that the LEH draws were out and that the draw has been made which was a cool feature that we all look forward to hearing. Not sure what’s going on there but we would appreciate it if you updated the information on the APP.
Disappointing
I was expecting to be able to explore more with the mapping system but other than displaying the main zones, it doesn’t do much. It refers to the hunting regulations PDF most of the time. Should be free.
More improvement please.
Love the app. It could use a few more updates! More hunting related pins / emojis. Would also be very cool to share your maps and tracks with other users. Have a friend option where you share photos and maps on a live platform would be an awesome addition.

Good Thoughts - Needs Updating
I’ve been using Hunt Buddy for several years and have found some of its features such as tracking very useful. Some things that I think this app needs for improvement is updating symbols for drop points, such as a foot for trail markers, other species maybe moose, sheep, bear etc. I’ve also ran into some serious challenges with confirming what is and isn’t private land. The app may not be completely current as I’ve been told multiple times that BC Assessment is the most recent information to confirm crown/private land and those don’t show the same on this app.

Just downloaded this app. It shows wrong information in what's in season. If you rely on this app you could get in trouble for hunting out of season or hunting the wrong animal. Pretty important info to screw up.
Be careful
Love how handy the app is but this year they did not put the updated LEH synopsis on the alp and because it says 2023-2024 on top, many people assumed it was current and used those hunt codes. There is now lots of people with hunting trips authorized in areas very far from where the thought they were putting in for! This really makes it hard to trust any info on the app if something so big is missed like this.

I have been using this app for 1 year and have relied on its content for hunting and the maps. The offline use of the maps has been an important part of the app. Recommended.

Don’t buy the maps
You can’t download satellite for offline, you need to dig a bit before realizing this, and it’s not mentioned in the area where they ask you to purchase. Great resource otherwise, but that is a shady way of doing things, 95% of people will be purchasing for satellite
Awesome App!
Has all the info you need for hunting and recreating in BC backcountry. Satellite maps are downloadable, saving data charges you would pay if you were using google earth instead. Pays for itself.
Downloading tiles
The app says downloading tiles should be fixed Jan9 …. Still encountering problems: tiles failed to download. 🙁
Amazing but has some new glitches
Amazing app newer update definitely has some serious map functionality flaws though not sure if its a new app update or the new ios that messed it up but somewhere it got all gibbled up

Images are blurry and can’t download maps
GPS blue location dot
This location dot does not follow you if you leave the screen you start on. You must move the screen display to keep the dot in view. Annoying, especially if you are on a detailed zoomed in screen and quading or boating. Also cannot delete tracks.

Great app. I use it constantly while out hunting. Well worth it and I would recommend getting the maps add-on. GPS tracking you’re position is super useful.

Tracking doesn’t work. The app is out of date. Very disappointed that such a great app has been neglected.
