Critical part of my planning. Especially as I learn the strength and weaknesses of the different weather models.
Can’t create account or log in
When I try to create an account through the app, it freezes and does nothing. So I created an account through their web UI and then tried to use those credentials to log in via the app. It tells me my username or password are wrong. They can’t be wrong - I created them via LastPass and had LastPass enter them for both the website signup flow and the app login flow. Their system is clearly just broken in a fundamental way, so I give up. If they can’t even make their own app work for the fundamental things like letting you log in or sign up, how can I expect them to get complicated stuff like weather forecasts right?
Was unable to use due to the apple payment system and it did not transfer to the web site
I used this service as a paid pro subscriber for many years when I was a windsurfer. I recently tried it again but on the App Store but was unable to get my expected access. I would like to delete this review as it has nothing to do with the program itself. Apple refunded the money so I am currently not a paid pro subscriber. If I decide to try again, it will be directly and not through the Apple Store. Please delete this review as it is not relevant to the product.
App is buggy
This app is pretty buggy and the Apple Watch doesn’t work, it just shows “Unable to load” in the complication. Bummer because it could be super useful.

I used to get at least some useful data for $45 a year, but now I get almost nothing useful unless I upgrade and pay significantly more. Sneaky change to get us to pay more!
Mostly Good for a glance
Somewhat generally glitchy occasionally. Refreshes don't always work. Somehow there's no "my location" button on the map view, so you have to manually scroll around if you are looking at different locations Tech support is very responsive, so maybe improvements will be forthcoming

Indispensable!
I couldn't survive without this app. It is incredibly accurate for my location in Maui. I check it multiple times a day, including at home when I'm deciding when to leave for the beach. And then again at the beach when I'm deciding what kite to pump up. I would LOVE a version for the Apple Watch! Update: the recent removal of the WRF-WF forecast model for Maui is a devastating reduction to the value of this app. The replacement TRRM model is a very poor substitute. It consistently forecasts lower wind than actual and doesn’t learn from its constant under forecasting. I’m forced to rely on the Blend model. It is also prone to under forecasting during afternoon hours, but I can just mentally add 4-5 mph and get pretty close. Unlike the TRRM model, the Blend model isn’t constantly predicting a drop in wind speed to some low nominal level—which never materializes. In contrast to the forecast models, the actual current wind speed values remain extremely valuable. 11/7/25 Update: the update today broke the app for use on my iPhone SE. 1/21/26 Update: the technical issue mentioned above was fixed in a few days, and the app works great now. Also the new TRRM wind model has continued to gradually improve and now provides the most accurate forecast I know of for wind conditions at my kite beach. I use the app multiple times each day. Support for the Apple Watch was added several months ago and is very useful. At first, the app could be added as a complication on the watch face. That no longer works for some reason, but I can still launch the app from the app list. Hopefully it will be updated again to allow it to be used as a complication.

Useful app when it works but it can be very buggy I’ve found. Recent update made things worse for me - can’t access the menu at all for one - the three stripe icon that allows access to the menu is stuck just off screen. Additionally, When I look on my Apple subscriptions it shows I’m subscribed to pro, but it won’t sync in the app and I can’t access pro account features despite being subscribed. App is great when it works but UE could use some work for sure

If you are into wind sports you need this app, wind is unpredictable but pro forecasts are super valuable.
Used to work great.
After the most recent update the favorites page no longer loads. This means you have to manually scroll around on the map in the app looking for different wind locations. No response from company when reported.
Best source of wind sports forecasts
I check iKitesurf every day and get great discussion of the wind along with pretty accurate forecasts. I’d give it 5 stars except it is way too expensive

IKitesurf has been fantastic with the additional meteorologist forecast not just computer models. It is worth your money if your on the water

Hello again The problem is the app closes a second or two after it is opened. That is also stopping me from using the in app support you have suggested in your reply. I do count on this app for all my water sport activities.
Knowing wind and tide reports for all my sports saves me much unnecessary driving time. I do prefer the older "classic" wind reports.

I’m in La Ventana for the first time kite-sailing. The iKitesurf has proven fairly accurate with site reports. More importantly, the forecasts is what I pay attention to the most for Kiting and planning the days activities. The forecasts for the most part have been largely accurate. Thanks iKitesurf
Essential!!
One of my most used daily apps! iKitesurf lives on my Home Screen for quick access. The realtime wind readings give a clear picture of what’s happening now and the forecasts are phenomenally accurate.
It seemed to work fine before
Then the upgrade changed everything. The app doesn't open, it only flashes opening page, then shuts down

As longtime user of iKitesurf for many kitespots, I find the forecasts for La Ventana could and should take into acct the gust factor. Most times, gusts can be 30-50% of base wind.
