Horrible
When you need it to work, the app will not connect or it will tell you you don’t have an account so you have to take an uber anyway. Probably in cahoots with uber.
The app change sucks
You used to be able to just use the tool. Now it wants a little “TMI”….
Bring back the guessing your BAC!
I still find the app works well, but I really want to see them bring back the “guess your BAC” feature, because it is genuinely useful for building awareness about what you’re at. Please!

Why is a user account required to use a device that I paid for. I simply wanted to have a reading to monitor my ABV but instead I have to give my data away

Helpful yardstick
I love my cocktails! I was gifted this by a former partner who felt I was sometimes “over the limit.” I was, but this was during Covid and I wasn’t driving anywhere and besides, if you weren’t day-drinking, you weren’t paying attention! Now I use it to make smart choices after being out with friends. I don’t have anyone who can be a DD, so I use this to decide if I need to get a rideshare home or if it’s safe to drive. They have recently revamped the app, so I’m happy to have my de ice operational again. (For a few months, it did not function at all and I was very upset.) The new version is much faster and cleaner, but they lost the battery level indicator at some point. Every so often, I’ll just have to put it on to charge and hope the battery is good next time. I know if I take it inside, it’s weeks before it gets back into the car console. I wish they had a public beta. It would be nice to never be without use of my machine again. And I could remind them of the need for battery level.
Doesn’t do much
The app is very unimpressive. Doesn’t do what the manual says. It’s also clunky because when you go to settings it doesn’t let you go back. You have to close and restart.
Friends BACs and history
After this update…..Where did the option for friends to blow but it not go into your history? There used to be a friends history. Also none of my months of history transferred, just 2 random dates from August
not connecting
I find myself constantly having to hard close the app every single time I want to connect it to the Bluetooth on my phone… It is very annoying and was not advertised when I purchased it.
Sold as Anonymous, changed to account tracking
Bought a BACtrack device years ago. The app opened up and you pressed the button to blow. Now you have to agree to a wall of conditions, supply an email and a non-optional name. This isn’t what I bought. My fun device that I occasionally used with friends to estimate our BAC’s is now just another data tracking tool. Just let me open an app and use what I paid for like it did originally. At first I felt annoyed it required an app at all, but the app worked fine. Now it wants account login and name info and a history of BAC tests. No thanks. Wish I had bought a version with the screen on the side, no app required. I would have recommended this with the old app. But certainly not with the current version that needlessly requires your data and personal info.
Not enough time
Dude, you’ve got to give a little more heads up (countdown) when you are expected to blow for the reading. This new update there is no countdown which makes it more difficult to get a reading on the first try. in the previous version there was a countdown when you were expected to blow.
Works Great. Changing the functionality was wrong
BACTrack Mobile did a software update a few months ago (6-8 or so) and during that update they dropped (3) important and key functions of the backtrack mobile APP /!device that all use to be included with the purchase of the device. 1) self photograph or Image 2) GPS maps location of where the Breathalyzer took place with timestamp 3) an embeddable url link that you could share via text when sending results to other people. i.e. co-parents before or after custody exchanged. These were the reasons I purchased the device in the first place. Now that they did the upgrade, this functions are no longer available. You have to pay for their monthly plans at like $79.99 / month. So from free... to $80 or up to $120 month for some plans. From Free to $5 tor $ 9.99 / month I could maybe understand., but $80 bucks per month... absurd Disappointed customer
Requires an account now
The update now requires you to make an account just to use the unit at all. There is no reason why a person should be required to do this just to use the unit for a reading. You paid for the unit. Does anyone respect privacy anymore?

What happened to the blow countdown and the ability to send results through text message? Terrible update.
Need more drink options
Like the device, but need more drink options. Every time I have gone to plug something in, I have had to find a substitute. Tonight, I found it odd that there was not anything listed for white claw, but both Abita and Saint Arnold’s had relatively decent list options.
Backtrack new app
The new app is very clunky. You have to turn off and on the blue tooth for each reading. It also doesn’t maintain all the daily readings. Previous app was great. They have wrecked a good product.
Pain to get started
I just want to have a reading, not an ongoing history. I still haven’t gotten signed in.

Never got to try the app. I Recently got a BACtrack and installed the app and it crashes closed every time I try to open it. My phone reached the min guidelines.

Très bonne app pour ce rendre compte du taux d’alcool. Par contre fonctionne pas bien avec l’iPhone 14 pro. On ne peut plus passer du mode invité à personnel.

Updated version is way too complicated. Original version was way easier to read and understand.
Dos it still work with iPhone 11?
Even with the newest battery, the device shuts off when attempting to connect to the app.
HealthKit integration is awesome!
When it tells you to press the button to pair your device, it should be made clear that certain devices (such as the C6) will not pair with the app when pressing the button once. One tap actually does nothing, holding the button for a second turns it on, and you have to hold the button for 7 seconds to switch to app mode, at which point the device’s screen will no longer readout the users BAC, but instead just literally say “app mode”. It’s made clear in the instruction manual which comes in the box, but for anyone who threw it out before seeing that, there’s no way to ever know, because the app doesn’t explain it. What’s nice is it stays in app mode, if that’s how you leave it, so it’s not like you’ll have to do that every time. I strongly recommend it be updated to add that instruction to the pairing screen, but other than that, it does what it says, and the BAC reading seems to be very consistent so far.
New update requires account and tracks you
After years of the app working account-free you are now REQUIRED to create one and sign in to use your device. Blood alcohol data could be considered sensitive and I don’t trust you with it. Also note in the App Privacy Report Bactrac App shows up as one of the highest network users and regularly connects to a number of advertising domains.

Incapable de naviguer dans l’application
Je suis capable de prendre mon TA. Cependant, je suis incapable de voir mes résultats enregistré. Un « BUG » qui se doit d’être réglé. Lorsque j’appuie sur l'icône dans le bas à gauche de l’application, cette dernière ferme.
great app but needs improvement
I love this service and the device has added to the quality of my life. But please make the app better quality. When adding a note or how many drinks one has add the only way to see that information again is to go to the editing screen which is very unpolished. The app has everything you need but it is put together like a B+ grade school project. It needs a lot of improvement to match the price point of the device.

I have owned several breathalyzers over the years. This is by far the easiest to use. We have given them as gifts to friends that we have a hard time convincing not to drive.
New forced upgrade on app sucks!
I do not want my information stored or my results stored on your app. I also do not want to sign up for an account! I bought this device for my own safety when I go out and now you’re forcing me to create an account to use a device I bought?? Also forcing me to store my results that should be PRIVATE!! Go back to the old version

Love the breathalyzer but not the new app for it.
I liked the fact that I use to be able To just blow into my breathalyzer and it would read for me. Now I need my phone to do the reading. It’s a pain. What if someone doesn’t have data or the use of WiFi? This doesn’t make it so simple Anymore.
Okay but needs improvement
I love the “time till sober” aspect however there are several things that need to be fixed. For some reason my test are recorded at wrong times and different days?

Battery sub par
Seems to do a good job on analyzing BAC but battery will only last a few days. Compared to other units from the same company that take AAA batteries and last for a year, I find this unacceptable. I want to throw this in my glove box and count on it when I need it. Not find a unit with no power. I also find it cumbersome to have to use a smart phone and the unit. I think you would be better off buying one that works on its own without having to turn on a smart phone, open the app, pair the device and get a reading then remember to turn off the unit ( no auto shut down ) or you kill your battery in a few hours. Even if you do turn it off it will need recharging in a few days. I do not recommend this unit
Not really accurate
Did a test after several beers and after waiting 20 minutes from last drink. 5.7. Seemed ok. Tried 15 sec later 6.3. 15 sec later 5.2. Not too consistent.

Nightmare for privacy and liability
Must create an account to use it (new with version 2, meaning there’s no good reason KHN, the developer, requires it). Your photo and results can become public, according to the TOS. If you get sued for something related to the app, KHN can take over your legal defense, but you have to pay their legal fees. INSANE. And those are just a few of the highlights of the problems with privacy and liability with this app.
Keychain
The keychain unit seems to work great! Sober says 0, 1 drink=.03, etc. The app keeps saying I need an update, but won't do it. Hope there's a fix for that soon. Keeps saying there's a firmware update, but doesn't do it.

Loved it until…
I began using the device and really liked it. It was easy, saved the info, provided what I needed. I purchased the App, pay a monthly subscription fee, and used it often. I purchased to record, show the pattern and provide information to dispute false accusations in a custody case. I used it regularly with most consistent uses the weeks my children were home. After more than 5 weeks of use… I blew in the device and the result was recorded and verified. 2 hrs later, after meeting with an atty who was planning to receive the info that day; it was gone! The app, the info, the crucial information… GONE! Now it’s seems I was dishonest, provided false statements re using device & then I am now being ordered to pay hundreds of dollars and required to take a blood test. The best part, I was paying $80 per month for the service. We called customer service and was told too bad. I am starting over to show from now until my trial date but loosing that info did damage I can’t begin to explain. I won’t recommend, but I’m stuck at this point. For casual use, it’s great. Don’t depend on it to actually provide anything beyond the day u use it, and have a backup plan for keeping track.
