Wonderful
Sunnyside gives you a nonjudgmental platform to help control your drinking journey. You have daily accountability for goals that you set with support from a community or a coach if needed or wanted. It was exactly what I needed when I began 3 years ago. Sunnyside improved the quality of my life.
Impossible to quit subscription!!
I subscribed to this app for 1 year, decided it was not for me and cancelled my subscription. I did not receive a confirmation and noticed I was just charged again for another year. “Contact us” link does not work so there is no way to dispute. Shameful business model.
Good app but the texting function doesn’t work
I downloaded the app for the free trial and while the team has been helpful, the texting functionality isn’t working for the UK at the moment and there is no set date for this to be resolved. I would have appreciated a bit more transparency about this prior to downloading the app. Love the idea of this app and am hoping the text issue gets resolved asap but without the text functionality it’s not necessarily massively different to other cheaper alternatives.

The app works fine, but the shift into pharma sales is a massive turnoff. Shame!
Good idea but glitchy
App looks good and exactly what I was after but unfortunately very glitchy and home screen disappears with every use ..have to download and log in again Wouldn’t pay the yearly price because if this! Developers please sort because it’s a great sober tool
Very helpful
I have used a few drink tracking apps that I didn’t stick with after a few months. Sunnyside has a helpful community and useful podcasts. It has helped me to cut my drinking in half over the past 10 months.

Payment required
It is not mentioned until after you compete the survey and input all your information, that you are informed that the app requires a subscription. This is misleading and gets someone’s hope up that change is possible. Not everyone can afford this and it is painful to go through this process with hope and then learn you can’t afford to even use the app.

Sunnyside is a great tool for accountability and tracking. Ultimately it is up to us individually to make the lasting changes we desire, however I have found Sunnyside to be a genuine help mentally along the journey..
Was so excited
They ask you a bunch of really good hard hitting questions really get you thinking excited you go through the whole process of making an account just for them to make you subscribe for 14 days for free and then you have to pay $10-33$ a month but it’s not a monthly charge. It’s an upfront cost from the exact day your subscription ends so therefore ends up being 200$ to $300 depending on what plan you pick Which sucks cause this app seems really great and I wish resources were more free for these kind of things.
Great app
I found this app extremely helpful while trying to moderate my drinking The team is supportive with no feelings of judgment. It just really helps to keep you on track and reward positive behavior. I have not used any of the meetings or one on ones but it is a fabulous option to have available. I would recommend for sure
No benefit without paying and providing personal information
The app requires intrusive information such as email address and cell number and won’t complete setup without verifying both details. (The company says it keeps the information confidential, but if it’s hacked there’s some very personal information tied to your contact details .) Then it requires credit card signup to a membership plan (15 days free then $99 per year), without which it won’t proceed. Ultimately this outfit is more concerned with its bottom line than the well being of its users.
Life changing.
An excellent resource! In theory I could track my drinking with pencil and paper, but in my real world that has never happened. Metrics are motivational and having to check in everyday, and record and track….really motivates me to get my problematic drinking under control. The platform is non judgemental and incredibly supportive. Tried it for Sober October but plan to continue.

Appreciate the no pressure approach
I really appreciate the resources available to support my sober curious endeavour. I need to take greater responsibility for accessing the resources because they certainly are there. I like the daily tracking reminders even though I don’t hit my goal. I believe with this app and another, I will better manage an incredibly stressful time in my life in a more healthy way.
Encouraging me to drink even more and to only have 1 drink free day per week!
I’m absolutely baffled - after completing my 1st week, I drank 25 drinks and managed 3 drink free days. I was then recommended next week to increase my drinks (as 25 was less than I had been drinking when I started) and to decrease my drink free days to have only 1 day without alcohol???!! Pretty dangerous to be asking someone already over the healthy limit, to increase… cancelling before I get charged for this absurdity! On the other hand, as someone who loves a drink maybe I should just take its advice and continue as heavy as I usually do if the app says it’s ok.. the money I save on my subscription I can put towards a negroni!
Helpful and non/judgemental
Love this app so far. The non-judgemental harm-reduction approach keeps me honest and accountable. I've been using the app for about a month and I've already noticed a decrease in how much I drink, and how frequently - and it feels natural and sustainable, not forced.
The Help that You Have Always Needed
I was reluctant to start using this App then I watched a video of what to expect. Sunnyside is saving my life. I have drank every day for the last 30 years. I have tried to cut back on my own but it never worked. After using this App for 30 days, I have cut my consumption by more than half and have actually had a dry day. I could never had done this without the help and support from the Community and the Coaches. I highly recommend signing up.
