Great app
It’s a great app, probably one of the best out there. At the highest levels the die do roll in favor of the computer so I keep deleting and reinstalling the app in the hope of resetting back to a balanced level. At times it’s easier to get a fair play at a lower level which is less interesting. But overall def one of the better apps out there
Joke
Game started great no ads fair play. Then after a while it started with ads every other game then game play would always favor opponent who would always get the rolls they needed to get ahead. Tons of doubles and all I would roll is ones and twos. It wouldn’t bother me but 10 times in a row is a joke
Smooth play
This is the smoothest, fastest game play for backgammon, and I’ve played it for five years. After many, many games I felt I started seeing a pattern, and I feel like the harder levels aren’t based on better skill on the computer side but better roles. Compared with other online backgammon games, the number of times the computer opponent gets all the spots filled trapping you, or the exact perfect rolls needed seem to defy odds. Could be that in only this app I’m ridiculously unlucky, but it happened so often that I decided to try a different app and haven’t seen the same thing. Still for beginner to mid I feel it’s fun and even the harder ones can keep my mind working despite the roles that perfectly place everything..
Unfair game
I play a lot against all of the ai but almost all the time it either gets extremely lucky or I get really unlucky like once I got 2 1 8 times in a single game. Also when the update came out I couldn’t play it. Also sometimes when I double up it automatically gives me a point. It doesn’t take consideration that I could be forced to open
Good/Bad
It’s the best interface I’ve found for playing on a phone but the notion that the dice rolls are random is absolutely BS! I can literally predict what rolls are coming in certain situations.
Fun
Smooth programming and accurate rules.
Rigged.
When you’re playing in the lower levels, you get great roles on the dice. And the opponent makes obviously stupid mistakes. As you work your way up the roles get crapier and crapier. Your opponent stops making mistakes and it’s rolls consistently put it in a better position. Sorry, I wasted the money on this one. It’s a shame because it has great graphics.
Good Setup but unfair
The handling is great and so is the competition. Unfortunately there is too much unfairness. Too often my opponents are getting exactly the numbers they need. I think the dice algorithm )can be significantly improved to become really random.
Bots
There seems to be too many “bots” controlling play, and the app doesn’t do enough to combat those obvious accounts.
Rigged rolls?
Same games are fair and some are so obviously rigged because there’s no statistical chance that the exact dice needed to absolutely kill would be rolled. Very frustrating. Also forget the levels of play, I’m guessing they’re just more rigged rolls. Just give me a game that represents real life play.

Where they put the 2x cube to auto button and dice return buttons are too close. Fix it.

First game you will nearly always lose.

Every time you risk a piece at the ends of the game the dice always roll to that piece always!!

Overall the best layout, but too many times the dice aren’t at all random. Takes away from the integrity of the game, instead of making it more interesting

Been playing this exact one for years unarguably best amongst all plat forms simple fast and to the point include more automation so that player input takes the longest time and not animation
Bad dice don’t play
Seems like a lot of people are seeing the same patterns in the dice rolls. There’s obviously a problem with it and the developers don’t wanna look into it. Bot games have crazy different dice rolls than online games. Leave a peace open and there’s an 80% chance the bot will get the exact dice it needs to knock it out. I do love the interface, much better than other games here but the dice rolls just makes it unplayable.
please handle sour losers
uses who see they’ll lose quit and a “Robot” finishes their game which leads to the quitter only losing 1 point instead of “losing based on the current state of the game at the time one’s quit”
AI???
Playing the lower level games (solo) feels competitive, however as you progress through the levels the dice become too ‘weighted’ …sorry, the AI appears to become too intuitive. At level 9, while you can win the odd game out of every 20 or so played, the AI consistently wins the run of the dice, so much so that whichever move you make, the dice will enable your ‘opponent’ to either take you, block you until it’s home board is loaded, or only enable you to move so that you will be taken on its next move. Is it fixed, who knows…is AI so ‘clever’ that it makes the higher levels pointless…??
Just okay
I like the simple interface compared to other games with overdone spinning graphics that jump around. HOWEVER, the dice rolls are not random, which is a big knock against it.

I have had question and suggestions over the year of playing this game. The team behind it has been responsive. This is a well polished game now.
Loaded Dice
This game is a disappointment when you get a ways into it because the algorithm starts making sure the computer gets perfect rolls. You can almost tell the moment when the algorithm decides you’ve been doing too well. Suddenly, you can only roll the least helpful things and the computer gets the best rolls. It will always be able to hit your pieces, set up a perfect wall, and get all the doubles it needs. If you’ve played with real dice long enough in life, you know this kind of rolling is impossible at this frequency. I’m done playing the stupid game because it’s not fun anymore.
Good App. I recommend it.
Great way to play this wonderful game on the iPad. Lovely graphics, realistic dice on wood sounds, great as a real board substitute between two players on the same device, great as a player against the computer, and, of course, against players of all levels from across the world. I have suggested to the makers that a facility be added that enables players to pass each other set comments at the end of a game such as “I was lucky”, “best of three?”, “thank you, good game”.

This game stacks the dice rolls against you when playing Solo mode and advancing up the levels.
Good looking game…but
I enjoyed the game as I moved through the levels, but noticed that the way the game makes it more challenging is that the dice through just become more advantageous to the computer and less to you. This just makes it frustrating rather than a realistic test of skill.
Best game
There are many backgammon apps , this app has the best visual, sound, and format of a real wooden backgammon! It’s easy to maneuver. Highly recommend it.

I’ve been playing this app for a number of years and it love the retro feel of it, the sounds and the simplicity of it, just sticking to the roots and style of the game. Love it!
Ridiculous Opponent Rolls
When you start a new level, Black will hit every lone white and roll doubles from the Bar to the only open spot & if behind, Black will hit doubles to catch up … ridiculous how often it happens till you’ve been on a level for awhile. The roll generator definitely has a built-in bias.
Good layout
Good layout marred by an irritating scoring system in online mode and the lack of redoubling across all modes. Redoubling is the essence of backgammon and it’s a mystery why these developers haven’t included it.

Not Random Rolls
If you play this game enough, you will realize the rolls are in now way random. They are programmed to roll certain numbers with certain scenarios.

Die rolls are obviously rigged. Super annoying. Otherwise I would say 5 stars.

Started playing other people but they are sooo slow so now just play the computer which is way quicker. Wish it would resign when it’s losing though!

At higher levels, against the computer, its not that the computer is much better, its that its programmed to get rolls that are statistically unlikely. So much better that it is nearly impossible to win.

AI in solo is awful on level 4 there is a 93% chance of loosing against AI I am sorry but this is absurd every time AI takes you you can’t really get out but if you take AI it can get out basically straight away and still can win even if you take the AI multiple times

The rolls are so predictable it’s hysterical. Your opponent couldn’t get better rolls if they were placing the dice themselves. Very frustrating. The developer must be laughing every time.

SCAM
When getting to a high enough level against the bot on this app it becomes biased ( NOTICEABLY). The rolls are consistently convenient and unbelievable amount of times and it is blatantly cheating . I only would recommend this game to people would want to play online with other players - avoid the computer . And to whoever is responsible for this selfish decision, FIX YOUR GAME !
Endless doubles
As other players say, if you win too often the computer starts getting double after double after double. It spoils the game. I got a rather stern reply from this review that it benefited them not at all to fix the game. So why do they provide yet another game of backgammon? There must be a benefit. However, in a backgammon board game the dice fall as they will, there is no easy, medium or hard. Just the quality of the player. In a computer game you can only change the level of challenge by programming the dice. It’s not cheating, there is no other way. We players need to accept that if you want true flexibility you need two fallible humans. 🤣
Very good app
The game itself is enjoyable, but the experience is becoming frustrating. The matchmaking doesn’t always seem balanced, and the dice rolls can feel strangely convenient for one player. Add the constant ads and the game starts to feel more like a monetized system than a fair backgammon experience. I hope the developers seriously improve this.

The dice rolls are rigged so you lose. Played 20 games and didn’t go first once. Bot gets all the doubles and player gets none. Download a different app

Rolling dice in this app is quite frustrating, especially during online play, where it often feels unfair.
Almost perfect
New rating system is better than points but still frustrating because the doubling cube isn't properly implemented. Firstly, games with cube should have option for best of five. Secondly, you must not be permitted to offer double AFTER you see your roll. Only then will this great little app be perfect. Another issue getting more irritating is people 'losing connection' when they might lose. It spoils many interesting unbalanced games when a quitter tries to keep their points by going to airplane mode or whatever they do.
