Fake jobs

So I get feedback on a job, they need more info and I give it to them. Turns out the job is a scam. ZipRecruiter ought to do better at screening.

Difficult to find Specifics

As a job seeker, it can be frustrating to use this because you will get notifications for jobs you are not qualified for. You have the option to be notified of “similar jobs,” but the list is limited to jobs in the same industry. Also, despite my searches for entry-level positions, I will receive invites to apply to jobs that require degrees that I do not possess.

Not up to standard

I am sorry to have to do this but within a day or so of using this app, I am experiencing more trouble than expected. I have worked with other apps before and this is beyond my understanding why. I applied for a position this morning that basically doesn't show up in the app, and their employment advisor asked me to click on a link to update my availability with that particular position, but the hyperlink sent me to 4 other "search engines" instead. So I'm deleting it. It screams scam.

protect candidates from being ignored by employers and recruiters

ZipRecruiter needs to do more to protect candidates from being ignored by employers and recruiters. If a job is posted on the platform, candidates should be able to reasonably assume that the employer is actually looking to fill that position. Applicants shouldn’t spend time submitting applications only to receive absolutely no acknowledgment or communication. ZipRecruiter should hold employers and recruiters to a much higher standard. At the very least, employers should be encouraged — or required where appropriate — to acknowledge applications and close the loop when candidates are no longer being considered. Job seekers put real time and effort into these applications. They deserve basic professional courtesy in return.

Remote jobs

It has many remote jobs but most of them you have to be in the state so if your looking for a full remote where you can work from home don’t look it up on here because if your not in that state there not gonna hire you

All the jobs seem to be scams or fake

I was really surprised that I was getting that many responses from my recent applications even though I have not worked for anyone in over 10 years. Sadly enough almost all of them are fake people with fake website, and spoof emails. They immediately want to do an interview over some platform. I wish the company would do more to stop this.

Excellent!

Easy to get resumes to the right employers. I’ve had a few interviews. The one feature that I would like to see is a way to reiterate your interest to an employer post interview. This I believe would be helpful for both parties

— Colbeagle

Very few redeeming qualities

Search results, for you feed, and notifications are all irrelevant with no discernible way to tailor them to the user’s preferences. The only good thing I’ve found is the ease of applying to jobs.

It’s okay

I don’t think it’s ZipRecruiters fault but there are no jobs listed that I’m interested in. I’m looking for part time and there’s not many options to review. Overall it’s a great app and if I was looking got full time work I would definitely recommend this app.

Did work, but now crashes

When I first downloaded this app, it was working without any problems. Now, and for the last week or so, every time I open this app to check the notifications, it immediately crashes and the screen goes black. Hopefully the next update for this app includes a fix for this bug.

Doesn’t work

The app is great for finding relevant jobs BUT its useless & pointless because when you go to apply, the “continue” or submit button doesn’t work, its always grayed out so we can never fill out or complete the application which…useless. We should be able to complete the application and go onto the next page.

Bad with location

As much as the app helps you find locations close to you. There are times that even when you applied filters, let’s say within 10 mile radius. It still gives you job jobs more than 20,25 or up to 30 miles away. And there’s no way to kind of block those jobs so they don’t show up in your feed

Waste’s applicants’ time

I have yet to find a job-hunting app that allows me to customize the jobs I see enough. Multiculturalism is great! But I can only speak one language, so I should have the option to filter out jobs that require proficiency in additional languages, as that’s a skill requirement I cannot meet by the start date. Commute time should also be filterable. The listings I see are selected for my city and greater surrounding areas, and since that’s Toronto and I don’t own a car, most jobs turn out to be too far away, and I have to find the address in the listing (if it’s even listed) then look it up on Google Maps to see if I can get there. The more time I spend mapping jobs I can’t realistically get to, the less time I have left to find the jobs that I should be applying to. Contrary to popular belief, applicants do not have unlimited time. Some of us are already working part or full time, going to school, etc. Shorter commutes are better for workers, so they have more energy and brain space for the job when they arrive, making the short commute better for employers. Most of all, they’re better for the earth. Job listing sites could fight global warming by helping workers shorten their commutes, but none are doing that. Imagine the marketplace advantage that the first site to add this feature will have…

Not as Expected

This app or ZipRecruiter is not doing well as there are many companies (employers) who are potential scams or are really not interested on hiring people. Although the match is high or great, nearly as never got response and just creates expectation on mind and makes us wait for longer. Ziprecruiter has to work harder to find the genuine company (employer) who are really seeking for employees.

I’d love to try and use this app, however, just like Indeed’s app, there doesn’t appear to be any Dark Mode option available to users. Having the app open for less than one minute is straining enough on the eyes for me to just close the app and forget about using the service altogether.
