I’m sorry I got on it. These are the biggest issues: It either doesn’t save or looses data. It freezes the entire iPad. Add a note, then a price before saving. I dare you. The camera assumes you’re using iPhone.
Great but…
I love this app, it does absolutely everything I would want it to, BUT as a small business owner it is way too expensive….There is a free part to this, but it is limited by space so it’s hard to grow your business economically.
Limit for free account is 100 items, then $24 a MONTH!
An FYI, since this app wants you to create yet another account to then waste your time building your inventory, only to find that there is a cap for the free account- it is 100 items. I understand the need to make a profit , but I do not understand the lack of information regarding this requirement. I am trying to keep track of my rock and mineral collection, and I am definitely NOT EVER going to pay $24 a month to keep track of the minerals in my collection, no thank you. Perhaps a $10 or $20 one-time purchase for life, but NO, I do not find $24 a month reasonable for what I want to use this app for, and many people won’t, either. Please stop wasting people’s time by instead CLEARLY stating what is and is not included for each level of this app, and at what cost. Stop playing the what’s it cost game. I should not have to Google this information when there is an APP DESCRIPTION right in the Apple Store which is supposed to do this for me. Thanks.
Perfect but expensive
This is probably the only app where you can browse locations, sub locations and items in the same place (because some boxes contains other boxes that contain items) and it’s so useful, but subscription is way too expensive. You should create a mid advanced plan for private users who wants to do inventory of their garages or attic items and nothing else, willing to spend max £ 5 a month

The best I could find.
I download loads of apps and deleted them before finding Sortly as they just weren’t providing what I wanted. Sortly hasn’t ticked all the boxes in terms of requirements but most features are great, love the way details of folders can be exported, very handy!
Two Week Free Trial Misleading
I decided to try the 2 week free trial. Within 48 hours, I realized it wasn’t the product I needed and cancelled my subscription. Sortly charged me $49.99 anyway. When I asked why and could they refund the money, they gave me the run-around of asking Apple for a refund. I don’t understand how companies like this stay in business.

This has to stop
$450 for a yearly advanced plan? That's nuts. $45 isn't ideal for a basic plan. By the way, I got emails every day from Sortly until I yelled at them and they deleted my account

Like the concept
but it doesn’t work right on iPad can’t sign in or upload photos
Random quantity jumps
This app has been pretty cool so far, but there need to be some adjustments that are implemented. There are times where I’m subtracting quantity from line items and it would double, triple, or quadruple the line items I selected to update. They should also consider showing the most recent update that’s been made on a particular line item just in case these random jumps occur. If these things are fixed I believe this app would be top of the line.

Bait and switch
Despite a tremendous investment of time to get this software dialed in for my needs, I was satisfied with the overall capabilities. Three years into the subscription they sent an email notification that the annual rate would increase by over 300% in 30 days (from $468 to $1428). Needless to say the subscription has been cancelled and I am looking for another solution.

Nice app, easy to use! Wish they would add a reminder feature for scheduling maintenance or repairs
No sales report
Testing the app if it will works with my business. So far so good with inventory tracking. The deal breaker tho is that it does not have any sales report and breakdown of how much you sold for each location and a graph to show which branch sell the most. So after adding and subtracting inventory, you’ll use a different software to compute your sales.
Great way to catalogue vinyl records
This was a five star review until the last update when the camera will not zoom in on items being catalogued correctly , I have used this for years and had no issues , this was in my opinion the only way to view my collection properly , put the camera back the way it used to be and this would be a 10 star review !
Not Recommend
For something to track inventory and nothing else, paying for subscription that jumps to over $1,000 is crazy. I’d rather redo my whole inventory (almost 2,000 items) than signup for their service again after using this app for almost two years!
Unethical Price Hike After Years of Loyalty. Overnight, Sortly More Than Doubled My Subscription $
I’ve been a Sortly customer for 5–6 years, paying $1,180 a year for their Ultra plan. Last year, without my permission, they increased my payment and moved me to a higher rate. After multiple emails, they admitted the mistake, apologized, and moved me back. Now, I’ve received a 30-day notice that my plan will jump to about $2,800 a year — more than double overnight — with no real choice other than cutting off many of my items to qualify for a cheaper tier, or paying the inflated price. When I went to cancel by subscription, I was suddenly offered 40% off. This just confirms their strategy: wait until customers have built up large inventories (I have about 3,600 items) and then force them into paying drastically higher rates, knowing it will be a big inconvenience to switch. Thankfully, I already have all my data zipped, exported to PDF, and my IT team is moving me to a new system. I’d rather spend time and money transitioning than give Sortly another penny. This company is greedy and unethical. They care more about squeezing customers than offering fair value. I barely used most of their features, just inventory tracking and adding a few items a month lately. I don’t recommend Sortly to anyone — and I wouldn’t be surprised if more negative reviews keep rolling in.

User friendly and intuitive🙂
Unbelievably expensive
Needed a way to inventory my stuff before I move home. Was recommended this. Costs £500 a year. And you get multiple spammy emails within hours of creating an account.
Can’t take the photo
Unfortunately cannot take photos of the items, as the colours are inverted... iOS 14.2, latest version of the app. Shame that the free version is limited to 100 items, as the app looks great. I was trying to create myself a list of tools and bits that I have in my cupboard, but 100 won’t be enough. I have to find myself some alternative. Thanks anyway
Absolute best system for organization and inventory
I have gone through pretty much every single app and service out there and sortly has always done everything that I needed to in terms of organizing things I have for sale to personal collections to household inventory. I love their QR feature. It works excellent. I use it to sort all my shelves. I want to say a big thank you to the developer for staying loyal to customers who signed up for lifetime subscriptions. I have like I said, signed up for so many others that either went away or changed their app so they didn’t have to continue offering service to their legacy customers.
Excessive Price Hikes
I have been using Sortly for about 5 years. It is not perfect for my business needs and the development team is slow to implement ideas to help improve. Still, they have no problem increasing the price X 4 almost overnight. I received 2 weeks notice that the annual payment of $2K was going to increase X10. Highly unethical and I am looking for a replacement.
Almost Perfect!
App is exactly what’s needed for ensuring an up to date inventory of possessions, which is great for insurance purposes; it could do with a few minor improvements: - Camera doesn’t focus in the app. This results in blurry pictures - Can’t attach document to items. Often I have a PDF of a receipt which I’d like to attach - instead I need to take a photo - Purchase ‘place’ field would be very helpful - Remove/Increase limit on picture quantity Other than that, I love the app and will continue to use. that are needed
Wasted so much time to create expensive database
Disgusting to charge this kind of money MONTHLY just to use this app for more than 100 items!! Horrible.
Zero value added with a subscription fee
Same old story: Seemingly great app ruined by a no-value-added subscription fee. For what? I have to pay you $5 a month to look at my stuff in an app? Ridiculous. Horribly frustrating.

Scam Product - Do Not Use
As many others have experienced, my company was forced out after they raised our “Enterprise” package contract price from around $2000/yr. to almost $9000/yr. As a small business, this is a cost we just couldn’t suffer. The sales rep negotiating our contract had to be about the worst guy on their sales team. Luckily we found an alternative. Thank you, Aaron, for pushing us away toward greener pastures. Sortly was fine but it became bloated with features we didn’t want or use. There was no negotiating, though. It was $9000 or nothing. Heed my advice and never use Sortly. There are better products from more veteran companies out there that know a bait-and-switch model isn’t right.

Monthly cost a huge drawback for me
As many other users have mentioned, the subscription model is a bit greedy here. It’s actually such a shame because it’s a well designed app and it does something that I’ve been looking for, for a while- customisable/dynamic QR labels. I would pay a one-off £40 for what’s on offer here, but to pay £4.50 every month for as long as I’d like to use the inventory that I’ll need to spend time building, puts me off entirely.
App good, subscription model not
Subscription models work for content that you can pick up and put down with ease. Like magazines, music etc. Continuous subscription also works where there is a flow of new content, that makes the payments seem fair. However, there’s a considerable time investment required to catalogue your home inventory. Then it almost seems like the subscription model here is holding you to ransom i.e. stop subscribing and all that work you did is for nothing. Yep, don’t like it. Doesn’t work for me. It’s a simple app really and although the app is quite good, I just don’t think the ongoing cost is justified. A one off payment would work better.

Bait and switch scam
How are there so many good reviews??!? It’s a scam! I was checking using it for work so signed up for a free trial which ended up costing $1750- they have no way to contact them or cancel. They said they upgraded my service based on my usage which is none.
Moving List needs to be editable
This is a great app. I would love to be able to edit the moving list though. Then it would be five stars👍
Poor purchase plan structure
The app is well structured, but the purchase plans are not thought for every type of user. 5 dollars per month are too much for people looking for a long term home inventory application. And maximum 100 items for the free version are too little. This is more targeted for people using it for a short timeframe, who want to use it as additional relocation service for insurance. Or for people that are rich enough to afford such a long term cost. It's a pity that with such a variety of features, they haven't thought about different purchase plans, to accommodate the needs of more long-term mid-low level users, like: 1) a cheaper cloud based service with limited features, max 0.99 dollars per month; 2) a local-based version with PC backup and unlimited number of items, with 10 dollars one time cost.
Easy to use but some annoying bugs...
Easy to use, and has a multitude of uses. Great idea. Only annoying thing is I have paid for a full subscription so I don’t have limited entries however the app keeps reverting back to a free version and then won’t allow me to use it. Not sure how to fix this?

Sortly Is Running a Digital Scam - Avoid at All Costs
Sortly lured me in like many others with friendly pricing, slick marketing, and promises of “unlimited” Pro version. I invested years setting up my entire inventory system on their platform. Out of nowhere and with barely two weeks notice they hiked their prices by 300–400% forcing me to pay for features I never needed or used. No justification. No apology. Just “pay up or lose access” Sound familiar? It should this is classic bait and switch behavior. Worse still, I later found out I wasn’t alone. Hundreds of users across forums are reporting the same experience. Small businesses, home users - all targeted, all squeezed. This isn’t a misunderstanding. It’s a deliberate ramp-and-dump scheme. They bet you’ll be too invested to leave. That you’ll just accept the extortion to avoid losing your data. This is digital hostage taking, and it’s happening in plain sight. Sortly’s business model is a warning sign. If you’re thinking about trying them - don’t. If you’re already in - get out while you still can. And to Sortly: You know exactly what you’re doing. If you want this review taken down, make it right not just for me, but for every customer you ambushed.
Works well
I like this app a lot. It works quite well. I only wish the qr codes it prints for small and med labels were scannable by my phone.
Can’t export to PDF in order of list.
The app is good, however, when you export the app to a PDF it jumbles the list and have asked for help twice but no reply from support. This app could be great! If they updated the error.
Simple and exactly what I need
This is the first time I’ve ever written a review for an app. I operate a commercial shipping container depot and rental fleet. I looked all over for inventory software that was easy to use and didn’t have 300 extra features I don’t need getting in the way. I downloaded this app and within two hours, our intern had the entire inventory organized, with pictures! Possibly the best part is it creates QR labels for all your items so the driver can just scan and check out a box. Absolutely perfect. Wish I’d found this years ago.
Scammers
Signed up for what we thought was an $800 plan. Next thing we know we are getting charged $1,400 & it won’t allow me to change to the free plan so we don’t keep getting charged. I’ve sent multiple emails, absolutely no response. Can’t find a costumer service phone number. I hardly ever write reviews, but everyone deserves to know what a scam Sortly is. Very disappointed.
Best I Found
Always room for improvement, some minor glitches, overall a great app, does the job, I appreciate its versatility. I was looking at all kinds of inventory/organizational apps and found nothing better than this one. I would love to see some cloud sharing functionality down the road (think google drive).
Every version problem !!
I'll give it 3 stars because the app still reduces the quality of the imported pictures!! .. After all this versions and we still having this problem I don't know why!!!. I imported some recipes pictures to go along with my items pictures and the quality was so bad I couldn't read it !
