Terrible for mortgage payments
This app is almost unusable to pay my mortgage. I bank with a different bank and Merchants services my mortgage loan. I basically have to relearn how to find my monthly payment and how to transfer money to pay my monthly mortgage. It also didn’t get my monthly escrow right for my first six months in my new home and now my escrow has gone up significantly. I am VERY unhappy with Merchants Bank and their app.
App works like advertised.
The app does what it is supposed to do with very minimal issues.
It's an ok app
I've had this app for around 2 years now and it seems to be the only app I have had the most trouble with. It seems like when I am not in a urge to access It, it lets me right in. When I need to get in quickly it needs to send me a confirmation code via text. The ratio I give it for letting me in easily is 25% it will let me in no problem. 25% it won't. The other 50% is the next issue I'm gonna explain and that is it's just down or not working most of the time. It says an error occurred when I try to log in and it's a guessing game of when the app will be working again. There's never a email/notification of if the app is down or when it will be back up. Overall the AP is ok but definitely needs improvements

There are too many times recently that the app will not open. Payments made with the debit card are very truncated and hard to identify the company payments were made towards
Excellent Bank
We’ve been with Merchants Bank for 30 + years. Service and customer appreciation is always the most important. We do all our banking at Merchants. Highly recommended.
Bad
Can’t really call it an app when 90%of the time it refuses to let me log in just sits and loads for hours until I final get a useless error msg even when you call the number the app provides nothing changes worst bank app to date.
Needs a lot of updates and bug fixes!
I have such a hard time logging on. I have to put my finger twice to by pass the first screen, then it lets me in. Over all. I think it’s needs a lot of updates and fix these bugs in the app. It’s annoying that it always kicks me off, then log back on. Come on IT, you really need to step up your game!!
Erratic, but useful when it works.
When it works, it’s a helpful piece of software. However, I find that it is extremely finicky. Certain pages or functions will not work when accessed from one button, but will from the same button in another context. Access denied errors abound. Logging in is a constant struggle with a vpn on. But, as I say, if you can get it to work, it does the job.
Misleading
When you pay-off the amount shown as a balance on a line-of-credit it should be as of that moment. In this day and time I shouldn’t be getting a notice of a balance due of interest the next day. There’s no excuse for the pay-off shown to not be as of that moment inclusive of incurred interest to that point and not exclusive. Otherwise, Pay-off is an incorrect term. I shouldn’t have to call in to the loan department to find out exactly what the pay-off REALLY is! Rant complete!
will no longer let me pay my credit card through this app
i’m not downloading two separate apps to do my banking through my single account. that is absolutely ridiculous. stop forcing me to overload my phone with superfluous bloatware and more possible points of failure for my financial security. not to mention, the second app that i’m supposed to use doesn’t even show up in the App Store for me to download so what am i supposed to do? call customer service every time i want to pay my credit card?
Not the best online banking experience
The site is very slow (not my internet, because it’s wherever I log in). There also seem to be a fair number of times when it’s not working or responsive at all. It’s a robust site, but the frequent challenges encountered make this a sub-par onl8ne banking experience, overall.
Was better
Since the change some time ago, it definitely takes longer to log in and I dislike that there is no exit on check images. There’s definitely room for improvement.

Slow, unintuitive interface, no Face ID?
I like that the deposit function is in this app so I don’t need a second app. Overall the interface is confusing and requires extra taps that don’t need to exist just to do basic things like get to account activity. The app is slow. It also won’t let me register Face ID no matter how many times I try.
Great local bank
All people would be far better off if they support their local banks. Services offered are equal to better that national bank branches.
Can’t use Face ID
I’ve tried multiple times to get Face ID to work and it always fails. Poor app but it’s all we have. Needs major IT help.
Annoying
So many times when I want to check things on the app it says a error had occurred. This shouldn’t happens 5-10 times in a row. Fix this.

Since the update early 2020, it’s been more complex & doesn’t work most of time. Problems logging in constant my. Please fix.

MerchantsBank is the worst.
MerchantsBank is thee worst bank I have ever worked with. Actual location is open short hours (never open outside of my working hours) and their online banking is sloooooow. It takes days for them up update “immediate” transactions.
Great App
This app is super easy to use. My work only lets Me deposit my check to up to two accounts and they need to be at separate banks. This app is critical to my savings goals because I can just pop in, move money and keep myself on track.

Text Verification
I’m forced to lock my screen, set up biometrics, and it still texts me a long code that’s impossible to copy just to log into the app. This app makes me want to change banks. So frustrating. This app is beyond glitchy. When I log in it will only give me the option to sign up for credit score monitoring. If I try to access any thing from the menu it says no accounts available and freezes up. This app is garbage.

Needs work
I think they need a new professional to remake this app. Considering changing banks simply because their mobile/online banking has so many issues. At least every other time I try to login, there is an error message and I won’t have access for hours! Very irritating!
