Unable to edit previous workouts or dates. Constantly crashing. Workout selections are great and following along in the journal view is great. However a lot of bugs to fix. Not very user friendly in terms of tailoring or editing past dates.
Good but needs major update not just bug fixes
The Apple Watch has been out for a while now and yet this fitness app hasn’t updated to take advantage of it; also the ability to add additional apps to correspond with fitness would be amazing.
Tried and tried again
I’ve tried numerous fitness apps. This one is pretty good but has some major flaws. Mostly, almost everyone workout I do freezes in the app and the app just shuts down and doesn’t save the progress for that workout. Also, I would rearrange the workouts I’m doing and the app would delete all the workouts entirely and I would have to re-add them again. Definitely has some bugs. Came back to this hoping they were fixed but doesn’t seem like it so I’m going to go back to my other app.
Huge file size!! Over 6GB!
This app works fine, does the job but the size of the app is absolutely huge, it’s data can’t be backed up to iCloud, so make sure you have plenty of room on your iPhone
Best Workout App
I've tried several workout apps, and without a doubt, this one stands out as the best in terms of value, volume, and user interface. It has truly transformed the way I build and track my workouts. I highly recommend it!
Worst customer service
I actually like the app. I switched phones and lost all my saved data . I’ve wrote them Many times . And got no response . This actually happens years ago. It took them long to answer them but they answered . This time I’m not getting answers . When the app expires I’m Not renewing it . I’ve been a loyal to the brand it’s the only fitness app I’ve used since about at least 2014 .

Cannot Edit Custom Workouts
I have a premium subscription and have been using this app for several years. The ability to develop custom workouts is a particularly important feature for me. The latest update removes the ability to edit custom workouts — which has been a core feature for more than 10 years. You need to fix this.
Latest update removes functionality, needs fixed
Love the app, been using it for years. In the latest update, when you edit custom workouts you can no longer move exercises up or down in the order if you decide to add something. Please fix.

Worst
I had the free app for years and liked it a lot. Decided to get the premium subscription for $30 and was charged the $30 but it didn’t show in the app. I emailed support twice. Crickets. I even tried support on this and it will not send the message. Where is the customer support?!??
Works great, just wish could log food easier
There are tons ofworkouts and easy to build a custom plan. Only drawback is the food journal is pre set. But overall the app is ver solid with a lot of features!
Requires Monthly Subscription
The reviews that say Fitness Buddy is an awesome fitness app dated prior to October 2024 are very true. This app has been a staple in my fitness life. However, the latest upgrade has locked out my prior fitness data, and removed access to custom built workouts and all access to any pre-built workout without a monthly subscription. It’s very disappointing. I hate monthly subscriptions, and would rather have the option to pay a higher fee up front. That’s what I did several years ago when I first bought the app. These ‘bug fixes’ are not a feature. It’s to force customers to pay monthly to get access to what they already paid for.
When it works, it’s ok
I work out 4 or 5 days a week and this app crashes at lease a few times a week, causing me to have to restart the tracking of my workout. I have contacted support a few times but they have never provided any kind of solution.
No access to premium features.
I recently purchased the premium subscription. Not only am I not able to access any of the premium features (workout and meal plans) but, I was charged twice! I like that app but would love to have this issue resolved.
Paid use only
Appears as a free app in the App Store, with in-app purchases, but once downloaded and logged in will not let you into the program unless you sign up for a subscription. Keeps popping up a “free trial” offer and if you X out of the offer it just pops right back up again.
Very good but not perfect
The only reason o gave 4 stars and not 5 is because we can’t run the app on the Apple Watch. Otherwise very nice app!
Only Work Sometimes
When I go to the gym it’s Russian roulette if the Discover portion for workouts actually works. It’s been getting very frustrating, I paid for a service that only works sometimes
Great App I paid for now its a subscription!
I purchased this app and absolutely loved it, it’s the best workout app I’ve used to track my weight training and I used to compete. Now the app is subscription based like so many apps now a days and I can’t blame them but you would think that the first purchasers of the apps should be grandfathered or something. Now the app is free to everyone and I paid for it. I’ve tried other apps after the developers changed to a subscription model but I keep coming back to this one.
Great App
Took a few minutes to figure setting up a workout, but the app has a lot of great features and connects with the other Azumio apps. I believe it’s worth becoming a premier member to enjoy ALL the benefits.
Company seeks money grab
I had a stand alone app which was paid for. They terminated the service and went to a subscription. No grandfathering in for early adopters that supported them. I will never support this company and you shouldn’t either.
Love it
This app has helped me transform myself over lockdown. It’s easy to use, records everything and has so many workouts. Yes it can be a bit buggy but if you use it properly you’ll rep the rewards.
It’s just ok
Same workout routines for 5 years. They never change the exercises routines, for a paid app it is the most glitchy app on my phone, always errors out and restarts losing all info you did in that workout.

No longer a free workout app!
Been using this app for about 10 years now. Loved the free features with exercises, building your own custom workouts, and pre-workout plans. Now I can’t even get on anything without it try to get me to subscribe to a paid plan. I’m good, going to find another workout app.
Feel a bit cheated.
I have to start to say this a Great app I love the UI I bought this app a long time ago but now this is a subscription service and I have to pay for premium features. Considering I have already paid can something be done about this?

Glitch clears entire workout
I love this app but there’s a glitch when editing workouts while training. I start a custom workout. I try to add/remove a set or remove a workout and it clears the entire list of workouts. There’s no way to get it back. I have to close the app and restart it. When I come back my workout has been marked as complete and I’m unable to go back and edit it. A bug fix or a feature to edit completed workouts would be nice. Thank you.

Disappointed
I used to be a user of this from years ago. I received an email inviting back at a special discounted rate. After following the instructions many times in the email to accept the offer I've had zero success. I've sent a number of emails asking support to advise me how to take advantage of the offer but I still have not received any type of acknowledgement. If I can't get a response as a potential customer, what will happen if I need help as a paying customer? There are many quality competing apps that I can spend my money on and recommend to family and friends.

Slightly disappointed
I download this app because I wanted something that could basically be a personal trainer in app form. I’m not new to the gym and meal prepping but it requires a lot of energy to do on your own. I’m a full time student and have a full time job on top of that, so I was looking for something that required a little less thinking on my part and something I could just easily follow. ***I spent a couple hours going through this app to get everything set up and here are my initial thoughts: This app promotes that it builds workout plans and meal plans based on your needs. Although it does do this to a certain extent, the app is not fluid with itself. Pros: It has a huge plethora of exercises to choose from and you can pick target areas and it will bring up a great range of exercises that use equipment or body weight. So if you want to build your own workouts this is an awesome feature. If your not looking for an app to do all the thinking for you and you like to customize everything it has a ton of resources. The recipes are super easy to follow and nutritional facts are provided. You can also allow this app to share with the health app on the iPhone which I really liked. For beginners who just want to start somewhere, there is a lot of useful tools in this app. Cons: My first issue is that the meal planning doesn’t coincide with your workout plan. My initial desire for this app was to have a meal plan based around my gym routine. It feels as if the app doesn’t communicate with itself in that way. So for heavy lifting days it still gives me the same amount of protein and carbs as my rest days. My second issue is the provided workout plans don’t give you enough detail about which plan to choose. I suppose I could just trial and error what works for me, but I don’t like feeling like I’m wasting my time hoping I’m going to see specific results and not doing the correct work to accomplish that. There is a small test that prompts when you open this tab, but I suppose I was expecting something more personalized. Another issue I had was the meal plans. When I first logged into the app, I looked at the different meal plans available and there is a very good range to work with, from vegetarian and vegan to clean eating to fasting to keto and paleo, to high protein or low sodium. So i was really happy initially with all the options. Once I went into my settings tab to customize what my goals were, my meal plans were restricted to keto, paleo, and the low sodium diet. I haven’t found an option to reset the settings, and I don’t like that I no longer have access to the other meal plan options. You can retake the meal plan test but I changed up my answers and still got the same results. It’s only 30$ a year so I’m not super mad I subscribed to this for a year, just isn’t fluid for what I thought it was. And it’s not the most user friendly. I was really hoping to get a meal plan that tailored to my gym routine out of the same app but I might have to go back to having them split to two apps. ****I’m going to try to utilize what I can from this app for a couple months and may end up updating my review.
Used this app for years!
I’ve used this app for 10 years or more. I’m a premium member now, but I also used it a lot in its free version. I’ve created workouts, used meal plans and love the gentle wake alarm in the app. But it seems that alarm function is gone? Is that the case?? I improved my sleep with that alarm. Please don’t say it’s gone.
Misleading Pricing and Lack of Transparency
I was excited to try this app after seeing the advertised price of $29.99 per year ($2.48/month). However, I was charged $3.99 instead, which doesn’t align with the pricing they promoted. This feels deceptive and misleading, as there’s no clear explanation for the discrepancy. Customers deserve transparency and honest pricing. If there are hidden fees or other charges, they should be disclosed upfront. This kind of practice damages trust and makes me hesitant to continue using the service or recommend it to anyone. I’ve reached out to support to resolve this, but so far, the experience has been frustrating. If you’re considering this program, beware of the unclear billing practices.
Very good
This app is very good, but can be difficult to do some of the workouts. But I do think this is a very good app.
Too many ads
Far too many adverts, used the app for about 5 minutes before I could no longer take the constant “buy premium” pop ups. App deleted. Azumio provide poor customer service when I got in touch to have my details removed.
Almost great but unreliable
As an average gym-goer I’ve found this app really useful to track progress, organise workouts, rest consistently between exercises and similar. The inbuilt workouts are OK and building custom ones is tedious but not too bad. The manor issue I have is that having had it on a couple of different iPhones now, including my current iPhone 12 is that it crashes relatively frequently. This is really frustrating as it will do it mid workout. Fortunately it will log what you’ve done to that point, but then you have to start a new workout and combine the two (or more) halves retrospectively. Shame as it could be great.

No longer a great free app
I’ve been using this app for years and was great because it didn’t make you pay for great features. But that no longer is the case. Sad to say but they’re going to lose many users and see many more 1 star reviews moving forward.
Decent but could use a few changes
Good list or library of workouts and I like the ability to choose sets/reps weight etc. This app is very basic but a few small changes could really benefit this apps succession. I suggest an option to pick and build your own workout routines with some sort of professional tips in helping do so would be extremely useful. Also the ability to view workouts in offline mode would be an excellent feature as currently I have to use my 4g in the gym. These features may be available in the paid subscription but I don’t want to purchase it without knowing or confirmation if these features do exist in the subscribed version. Not sure how recently this app was released but it could use a few updates or general changes/new feature such as those I propose to enhance the user experience. Overall however this is a good app for beginners in finding workouts and routines but could do with a few changes.
Too much advertising for pro app
If you can cope with pop ups every other screen for paid/pro Version then it’s a good easy to use app but for me it’s far to irritating and unnecessary pushing to make money instead of focusing on the purpose of the app
Broken since ios13
Any plans for an update that works with iOS 13? Since upgrading my workouts get lost mid way when ever the lock screen comes on meaning I have to keep re entering my progress in the workout. Very frustrating.
Great app for tracking progress
I love this app, for a beginner I found it invaluable for inspiration and explanation of each exercise. It helps me develop my own programmes by targeting specific muscle groups in the search function which I love doing. Several versions of each of my custom workouts ensures variation. The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes the workout I’m in goes completely blank on screen if I attempt to add a note or add an additional exercise. It’s not predictable either, but this happens only now and then. You can’t get back to your current workout as the screen goes blank and all sets disappear. To combat this I just mark that session complete, start another session of the same workout and then use the merge function at the end. It’s a bit of a faff but not a huge problem.
Meal logging is worrhless
The meal logging of calories for this app is pretty worthless. Most foods it gets the nutrition incorrect even when you scan the package. Other times it doesn’t find most of the foods when you scan the package. And if you search for a food, it usually can’t find it or finds only something very generic. Looks like it’s back to my fitness pal for meal logging.

I’ve used this app for a few days now but want to work on my abs but can’t because it’s only on premium. I’ve only been able to work on my upper body which was not what I was wanting.
