Scammy
This company is highly unethical and doesn’t care about their customers. I purchased this app as part of a bundle prior to 2018 and no longer have access to it. When I emailed them about it they said they changed their business model and now require a $9.99 monthly subscription to access what I already paid for. You should have just made a new app and left this one alone. Instead, you scammed people out of their money. Steer clear of this app and anything associated with Zen Labs. What a terrible company. Edit on 2/18: In response to Zen Labs who keeps commenting the same boring, generic response on everyone’s 1 star reviews calling your company a scam, (including mine), just stop. You did steal peoples money and that’s not okay. Also, you know just as well as I do that the Apple Store does not keep receipts past 2018. I made that very clear in my direct email to you with screenshots showing that. And I showed you screenshots where it clearly says I purchased the bundled app.
Really enjoy this app
The only thing is I wish that if I finish a run faster than program says I should I should be able to end it and have the time record the correct Milage and time. Instead of the full time. I am in year 2 of using the app and I do the longer runs as a run instead of run/walks and finish miles before time is up but can’t log correctly. Other than that love the program the app has. Have used for half marathons and a full marathon now.
Invasive privacy
No, you may NOT always track my location. Naughty app, no cookie for you.
Was working now it stinks
I was pleased with the app at first. It now shuts off at random times, stops workouts, and is wildly inaccurate for distance. If a text or phone call comes in the app stops working. Tried a hard restart of iPhone and reloading app. I sent mails twice to report the problem, but have received no response, although it appears that the ability to deduct the payment portion is still working. I am training for my first marathon and this has put a major wrench in the process. I did use the app to train for a half marathon and it worked well.
Great Prep
Great prep for first marathon
Thanks
Glad I read the reviews at the “Most Recent” filter. I went through the first 50 and they’re all pretty much 1 or 2 stars. The fact that it’s not a full training program without a subscription is ridiculous. I used the C25K in the past and it was a great app, but I guess just a simple one-time fee isn’t enough anymore. Sad. Won’t be subscribing.
Run
Great app quiet enjoy running with this good learning program and great when u just need to learn paces
Every workout is run/walk!
That you means you partially walk every workout including the actual marathon. If I had known I would never have started using it. Run/walk is fine to start but I want to train to just run distances, not walk every 3-4 minutes.
Annoyed
I wish the app had a pace mile section. This app set for 9-10min mile run. I run 14-16mile run, which means I’m always behind the approx. mile run time. I either have to choose to run the time or the approx miles.
Jennifer
I’ve used the C25K, and the half marathon app. I love them both and can’t wait to try the full marathon app.. my kids have even used the app with me and like it as well.
Locked out
I paid for this app, and now it wants a subscription. Seriously, how greedy are you guys? How is this even legal? This app used to be 100% free. Then it asked for a one time payment, I said whatever, ok. You took my money, and now you want a subscription. I’ve been using this app for years. What a joke. I won’t be buying your subscription.
Empowering!
This makes preparing for your first marathon so achievable! Balanced program, fuss free app, loving it!
Fix crashes please
This app would be a 5 star if I didn't have to delete it and re-install it, kept crashing! I know I can double tap each day but now it shows I completed each day on the same date. Other than that I love this app.
First timer!!
As a first timer, this really helps pacing my run! Very excited to keep going and beating my times!
Purchased app in the past and now it’s no longer honored
I understand that many apps offer subscription-based payment models for enhanced services or access to exclusive content. While I recognize the value that these subscriptions can bring, I have noticed that after paying for an app, I am no longer able to utilize it without subscribing to a certain billing plan. I find this situation rather frustrating, as I believe that once a user has purchased the app, they should be able to use it without being forced into an additional subscription. It feels unfair to users like myself who have already shown support by purchasing the app initially. Thanks for scamming me out of my hard earned money.
Good
Good app for motivation, although it has you walking every 3-4 mins, you can keep running, it's nice to have a walk every now and then when you are a couch potato
Awesome!
Great app. Easy and fun!
Abandoned their customers
I purchased the bundle with all of the running apps 6 years ago, but now due to their subscription model they have taken away the program from those who already paid for it. I feel taken advantage of, charging nearly $30 for a software bundle only to make it unusable due to a business model change. It’s unfortunate that everything has gone to a “subscription model.” Especially when the model doesn’t really give anything new from what was previously available. Stay clear, there’s better options out there.
Love
I’m getting back in shape with this app
Nice Program that I have to Pay for Again
I’ve used this program to train in 2018 and 2020. Recently I got back into training to sourly discover the app only gives me up to the first two weeks unless I pay more to Go Pro. Why do I have to pay more after 4 years of owning the app and already trained with it multiple times? I also have their 10K app that showed me all 14 weeks so I was extremely disappointed to move onto this app and have to pay more for something that I already had and used. At least I wrote the program down but a shame the app I relied on and raved to other people about for so many years didn’t consider their long term user relationships.
Great app!
This app got me ready for the NYC marathon 2 yrs in a row. It works.
Purchased apps no longer honored
I bought this app in 2018 but my purchase is no longer being honored due to the subscription model. They did offer to let me pay again via the subscription model or refund me my purchase. Basically the same as the car dealership coming for your car 5 years after purchasing bc they’re changing the terms of the purchase agreement. It would be a different story if my purchased app was sunset and a new app was rolled out on the subscription. At least I’d keep the usage of what I paid for. Crappy business practice. Just buy a book and get a free interval timer app. At least you’ll get what you paid for.
Finished my first marathon thanks to this app!
The program feels low pressure and not as intense as other training programs I have used. I was able to stick with it through my entire journey
To Quote App Store Guidelines
“If you are changing your existing app to a subscription-based business model, you should not take away the primary functionality users have already paid for. For example, let customers who have already purchased a ‘full game unlock’ continue to access the full game after you introduce a subscription model for new customers.” (3.1.2(a)) I have already paid for the primary functionality. I want it or I want my money back!
Makes cardio easier for me
Gives me a goal to reach. Makes it interesting.
Crashes
Crashes a lot.
Great app for training!
If you are someone who needs a training schedule laid out for you, this is a great app! The 26.2 app has your running, cross train and rest days figured in to each week to help you stay on track and meet your goals! I have used the 5K, 10K and now the 26.2 app and I really appreciate this plan having a little more structure than the shorter distances.
Help!
I’m in the middle of marathon training and my app has COMPLETELY quit on me. Now I can’t find another app similar and my training is all messed up. I’ve done a hard reset, deleted and redownloaded the app and nothing?? What can I do?
