This is perfect ! Love the daily run and the session breakouts!
Used to be good
This used to be worth the cost but not any more. The app doesn’t work consistently and the support team doesn’t respond when you have a problem. The only reason it’s two stars is that you can take the training and add it as a custom training in an app that works, like strava or Runkeeper.
Awesome content!
This app is loaded with awesome content! It would be better if the app was able to synch with my HRM and also include a metronome. If the app could also integrate with Strava that would be really slick as it would allow me to really amp up the data analytics associated with the training content in the TRE app. Don’t get me wrong this app is still worth the coin to have access to the community and resources.
Data and Privacy
To make this, or any app like this, work well for you it requires that you share your health data. When you dig into the privacy policy there are no assurances that your information it secure and when you look up the App Developer there is little to no information about ONgo available at all. There are many benefits to be sure but the vagueness and hidden trading of my personal health data leaves me deleting the app.
No experts in the community
While I really like the way they have mobility worked into the training, it really helped me train for a marathon - there are glitches in the app that haven’t been addressed for 2 years. It glitches and stops showing the videos for strength and warm ups and loops back to previous instructions during intervals and no one from the app/company is ever in the comments… they don’t answer questions and don’t offer any encouragement or support. It would be nice if they fixed the glitches and update the app with a 10k race and other timely content - additional strength training options than walking forward and backwards on hands and feet - with wrist issues / that’s a challenge.
Thoughts on The Run Experience
I haven’t used this app much so far but do plan to. Everyone in customer service is kind and responds to questions quickly. There appears to be lots of training option available and I will be going for the 30 day foundation challenge first then the marathon training as I want to become an ultra runner. I recommend this to anyone to wants help with improving their running abilities.

Worth the quality of programs you get!
GREAT workouts and programs. My only issue is (and I hate complaining about it!!!) is the user experience like others mentioned. The app is super glitchy and often times I just become frustrated and close it down after reading what the workout is. It will skip, pause, or shut down on its own and it’s super disruptive to the flow of your workout. In the end it’s totally worth purchasing for the workouts whether you can play them in real-time or just follow them by reading ahead.
Great workout app but….
This really is (was) the best running app. I really enjoy using it but anymore when I use it, it crashes every time I lock my screen to run. I tried it a couple of times and it just closes and I have to restart. What’s bad is I was trying to see how fast I could run a mile and get a new personal time and when I looked at the app when I was done it didn’t even record my jog. I used this app all during 2020 and it’s a great app but needs some problems fixed.
Excellent app just needs to be more user friendly
I wish the runs would prompt you like for example when you have to run for 30 seconds then walk for 30 seconds for 5 mins, I wish the app would say run and then after 30 seconds, it would say walk just like the C25k app. There’s a lot of information in the app, and I think its not organized properly. And how come the 5k program has you working out 7 days a week? I know i know some of them are drills and breathing work but still. Its just difficult to use the app, while running i kept looking at my phone. Otherwise its a great place to learn much more about running!
This really works!
I have been trying to build a running habit for a while. I'm 8 weeks on with this app and going strong. It is such a great mix of resources: Running coaches you can talk to and ask personalized questions. Run challenges that vary from beginner to advanced. A huge library! Techniques like strength training, running form, injury prevention, warm-ups, healthy eating. The community is great. The coaches are super responsive. App is a bit gitchy and I'd love to see more features but overall it's great and well worth the cost.
Lacking customer service
I clicked on a “7 day free trial” banner and instead immediately (and involuntarily) paid for a one year $120 membership. I’ve sent 2 requests for a refund and heard nothing.
Great training resources, tech needs work
I run marathons and rely heavily on online coaching for my training. I previously used SportMe and am shocked at the quality difference with TRE. The training is thorough and has completely overhauled my running form. I’ve never felt better running. My only critique is the actual user experience. I can’t use the app to record my runs as it’s faulty and messes with my music volume and often pauses itself or resets mid-run. I end up starting the workout to read the daily routine before closing the whole app to record on my Apple Watch. For the price I think this feature could be improved. Nit picking here, but I really wish the strength workouts were full videos rather than clips. They are so dull to complete, especially since the clips replay themselves and I’m completely wiped out from completing my 150th burpee. It’s always more encouraging for me to workout with the trainer going through it alongside. But still worth it. Thanks for building such a great resource!

Like their videos so was willing to try their premium app. App crashes during workouts sinking motivation. Uninstalling and canceling the trial. I am extremely dissatisfied with this app. Edit: They apologized promptly for the problems which gets them a star back.

I like the app but wish there was more content for NON-PREMIUM subscribers. I realize TRE has to make a living. But it would be nice to have a discounted rate for military/seniors etc.

Stupid
Really hard to navigate, nothing even comes up when I search ‘marathon’ into the library. Looks like something that belongs on a website has been crammed into a poorly designed app. It also sends really annoying quotes to my apple watch what feels like every five minutes. I thought this would be a nice addition to my marathon training but it’s just stupid. I have cancelled my free trial
Tip for improvement
I’m really enjoying this app - well thought out and very extensive. One tip is that you need a pause between exercises. For example in the level 2 glute pain injury video - there is no pause between the clam exercise and the reverse lunges. There needs to be a 5-10 second pause to allow the user to change positions
Glitchy
Though I love watching the videos by the coaches and the excellent information I find the actual app glitchy. It seems to need wifi when I am outside and sometimes the exercises are in the wrong order (or have the wrong time) and sometimes it does not actually record my runs. To be truthful I have not used the training app for about 2 months. I am running a virtual 1/2 marathon with another plan with hopes that they improve the functionality and I can try them without deferring to other plans in July.
Videos not available
I signed up for a year subscription but I can’t view videos until the 7 day trial is over. This is frustrating.

TRE educates with these plans. They don’t just tell you what to do expecting blind trust. They explain the “why” behind each exercise. It’s my go to, and I’ve been running for 17 years.
Deceiving
Advertised as 7-day free trial, but charged immediately for annual subscription over $100. I shouldn’t have to pay up front just to see what you have to offer. Please refund my money. Deleting app.
Love the TRE App and Community!
I’m only three days into using the TRE app, and so far it’s been great! I’m doing a 30 Day Challenge (30DC), and not only are the videos and coaching fantastic, but the community support is as well. I’ve been running for over a decade, but have never done any of the things I could have been doing to become a better runner — drills, mobility, breathing exercises. TRE is definitely going to change that! So glad I found this!
Free version very limited
If you want to get videos or other, prepare yourself to pay a monthly or annual fee. Would have been nice to tell it upfront
Love the coaches. App isn’t very accessible
I purchased this app because I’ve been following the run experience on YouTube and love their content. I just went on my first run while using the app and found myself fumbling a lot. I didn’t really like that it’s not compatible with my Fitbit and I couldn’t control my music from the app, so I had multiple apps running at once. Maybe I’ll figure it out more as I use it more. I purchased the yearly subscription so I’m in it for the long haul, it helps that I love the coaches!
Great App, YouTube Channel and Group
I would gladly pay a couch this good but this group of talented running coaches do so much of this as free content. Hats off to you and I will happily pay for the year and know I’ll make up for it in more healthy miles injury free. Nice Job! Do the right thing and good things come back at you.
Probably the worst running app ever
Seriously. How on earth are you supposed to navigate this thing? I regretfully bought the Month $20 package; utter waste. I hate this app with a passion. Use Nike Run Club instead.
Awesome and helpful with few missing features
Such a great app whether you’re beginning a running journey or looking for some motivation, extra challenge, or wanting to improve all around as a runner. Great, updated videos, a wide variety of training options, and a pretty decent community.
One of the best most reliable sources out there!
I’ve been a runner for years and before that was a competitive swimmer who competed internationally and so I learned a thing or two over the years but TRE has taught me new tips and tricks and done so in a way that explains it all so you can understand the why and not just the what. Highly recommend!!
Nothing is free now and the best coaches have left
A waste of time and money. There is nothing on the app that you can’t find on their YouTube channel for free.
Can’t unlock program after paying for it!
Paid for subscription- when I try to start a program it tells me to subscribe- can’t find any contact info through app to complain- missed this morning’s run trying to figure out how to unlock it after I have paid for a month’s subscription- very unhappy!!! Glitch in app - was able to log in and use later in day - have only used twice -so far it seems to have excellent training instruction!

I’ve used several coaching apps, training plans, and physical therapy routines...nothing is as thorough, effective and enjoyable as TRE’s app and coaching. Give them a try and you will not regret it.
No tracking while phone is locked
I purchased this app hoping to finally have a good running tracker, but once the phone locks it does not track distance or progress. Unsubscribing until this issue is fixed.
Workout assistant
First time really using the App while training for a Half Marathon. Following along with the actual required exercises (specifically for the Half), after seeing them demonstrated has helped me complete the sessions much quicker! I did find that I wanted to review the demos prior to starting the workout but then I didn’t know how to quit to leave the workout uncompleted! If you go to the end of the days workout, to the final page Session Complete you can’t return to the beginning, etc. The only option is to like/dislike 👍 👎 and press Done. Here, it would be helpful to have a Go Back option to any of the previous pages! It may just be me as I get use to the App! The wonderful thing about this App is that a Coach (Edward in this case) will send positive feedback to help inspire you further and to answer any of your questions about the routine or alterations to the Workout!

Poor app run by some poor blokes. They’re asking for way too much money for their product, when most people are struggling financially. It needs rethinking.

Frustrating app to use. I never could get to the place where I wanted to get. I click the start button and I’m at the end of the program. The advice is fine if you can find it.
