Timely and pertinent
I appreciate the updates I receive from KOAT. My day gets very busy and these updates keep me informed.
No news, just ads
When you live stream, you get ads. 1 of 6 starts. Then the “we’ll be back…”. When the news comes back, it’s at the tail end of a story. Then back to ads, “we’ll be back…” and you can catch the end of another story when it’s back. So if you like ads, and find the news depressing, this is for you. No news!
Weather
As much as I appreciate the morning weather forecast with Eric Green,Silver City is so often blocked from view. Can the graphic be moved to the right a bit to have Silver City visible, or, move Eric to the left a-bit? Other forecasters stand away to the left more. Thank you for considering.
App won’t open
I don’t know if it isn’t connecting due to a recent iOS update or if it’s internal to the app. But also there have been inconsistencies in info within the weather section on its home page vs. the hourly predictions. Large number of ads. Good housekeeping article that doesn’t open the link to read it. Very old ads like Xmas tree ads. Stories that are more headline than story.
Good, but…
I find the articles to be informative and timely. But…just about everything I click on to read requires waiting for an ad to be viewed. Some of these ads can be dismissed fairly promptly, but some take take way too long to show a “skip” button. I don’t look at ads anyway, so “I” skip these annoying articles.

They should change the name of news station to opinion channel. Incredibly biased and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single video on here longer than a 1 1/2 minutes
Ok
It’s not the best app but I still keep it. About 2/3 of the stories stay on the site for weeks. Not much is current
Location Location!!!
Just recently, this app decided I live in Questa instead of Red River. Our weather is different, more often than not, as we’re about 1100 ft higher in elevation. Our zip is 87558, not 87556, as in Questa. Also, while I understand that hot air rises, I have never seen a day here where it was cooler in Questa than in Red. Wish you could fix…….
Need more ability to view several stories
I wish when you see breaking news on your phone and another news reel comes across…you only get to click on ONE!! That part I don’t like. I wish I could click on each one and read each one.

KOAT news app keeps dropping the morning newscast.
KOAT is my preferred station for local news, but several times a day, while I’m watching the morning news using this app, it drops the streaming and brings me back to the main page. It’s very irritating.

Frustrated
I’m a very loyal watcher of KOAT but as of late I have not wanted to watch. I feel the new people are rushing through stories. After listening to new afternoon lady I have a feeling of rush and anxiety she talks so fast that it hard to understand her. And on weekends Sasha has also started to rush through stories talking so fast. I’m sad to have to watch other channels just to get the news. I hope KOAT can address this as I would like to continue watching.
Miguel Marques Review
The new anchor Miguel Marques is hard to watch. His word inflections, voice and body movements are quirky. Tell him to get out of Royals ear (personal space). Turn his mic down and have him stop trying so hard!

Annoying when scrolling
Omg this app is very annoying!!! When scrolling the. Photos change sizes while they move. Don’t waste ur time.. this app didn’t like three minutes on my phone
Flash for breaking news
I get a flash for breaking news and i click on it and the news is something else.
KOAT review
Even when my phone is on silent when I press an alert from KOAT it loudly starts telling me what the news is or I get a commercial right off.
Technically issues
App used to be great unfortunately even after many updates a solution has not been made to the news stories bugging out and closing. It results in going back to the home page having to find the article again and skim read it to hopefully get the information before it bugs out again to start the process all over again.

New update
The new update has made this app horrible the news articles are in such big font that it makes it harder to even read the article the app use to be great before this new updated version
Weird Video Game
Chiming in from Española: since June 2020, halfway through the morning broadcast (our fave), some childish video game cartoon pops up, playing over the news and commercials, causing layers of irritating noise and confusion. That’s when we tune out🙁
No ability to choose to watch video
My main issue with this app is that every story automatically comes up with video and most of them don’t have the written narrative below the video. There are times when you can’t watch a video due to the location you’re at, maybe in a doctor’s office, in bed with a sleeping spouse, etc. all stories should have the ability to read the complete story rather than watching a video. Because if this I often go to another local network’s site because they have the written story in addition to the video, every time.
Not there
It would be nice if the alert that pops up on the screen actually had the story when you click on it. I click and just takes to the normal KOAT app homepage junk not what I was looking for

When the anchor mentions Olga it's the beginning of the incompetent portion of KOAT's newscast. It's time to switch to KOB or KRQE. Emails to management have no impact. The heyday of KOAT is long over. 😴
Organized and has updated info
I like the organization of the app and the news they have is pretty updated.
Breaking news
I wish there was an additional option that allowed me to select only actual “breaking” news. Many of the news alerts are from stories already broadcast.

Push notifications that are NOT NEWS
I have all 3 local news stations on my phone and this is the only one that send notifications for any article they write. Some examples would be anything from travel tips to why your dog eats grass. If I wanted to brows every article they wrote I would go to their site or pick up the newspaper. I expected notifications about news. Important things going on like a wildfire or important laws being passed, murder rates and road closures.
Alerts
When the app first started alerts were just ALERTS. Like breaking news or weather, not every day stuff we can watch later on TV. It’s annoying to get UPDATES that aren’t urgent or emergency types. Otherwise, I love the app.

I want would like to see breaking news, but all you see are ads that you can not pause and audio that is not discrete so everyone knows you are on your phone. Sad that they are like this. Going to another app.

Most times when you receive alerts on your phone when you tap on them it takes you to an older version of the story and the new alert cannot be found.

The same news every day or it’s to late
Reporters read too fast
For those of us getting the news for the first time, the reporters speak so rapidly most of us past the age of 21 cannot understand the rapid fire presentation. Not many items, including the weather, have to be delivered as if this story is an emergency. Please slow down. Thank you.
