What they complain about

- Push notifications are too frequent and annoying
Love channel 5
I love all these people. They are wonderful. On top of the weather all the time. Damon, Michael , everyone. They are absolutely the best. Damon talks to you like your his friend. So caring. I’m so happy they are our weather people. Appreciate you more than you know. Judy Ellis
Liberal news network
Constant trash pushed out as news. And the weatherman freelancing on Facebook as a plant expert is a bad look
Weather
The app overall is good. Only one challenge with the app for me, the very bottom of the hourly forecast is cut off on my iOS device. Otherwise I like the layout and content.
Too many commercials
I resent the fact that I have to sit through a commercial before I see any story. Also, you get the video with every story. I’m an adult with two advanced degrees. I can read. Matter fact, I prefer to read. Give me an option to skip the video and the ads. Or less than the number of ads perhaps once every three articles. Very annoying.
Glitch
The promoted news article doesn’t often display
I can’t do it anymore and I can’t take iiiiit! 😭
I love you KOCO! The people are always helpful ( but it does scare me 😳 sometimes) the People are very nice and I like when they say “ on KOCO… 5 news 📰” Smart slogan guys!!!
TOO MANY NOTIFICATIONS
I only want notifications for weather. I’ve gone through the app settings, turned everything off but weather, and I’m still getting notifications for every story they post. Too many, too annoying
Video interruption
When i’m watching a video and then I switched to a different app and then I switched back to the KOCO app, the video is black and I have to refresh just to start the video again from the beginning
Great news coverage, bad app utilization
Hard to read a story when 80% of the screen is video when all I want to do is read the article.
My favorite news channel
Awesome weather and news information!!!
Worthless app
Liberal propaganda and they blow up your phone with notifications. The only good thing about it is the weather coverage but you can find that on YouTube with less glitches.
Too political
I’m looking for news and pertinent information for day to day applications. The editorials are trite and mundane geared to the political leanings of the station. I’ve started watching the other stations for news and weather.
Cannot open it without sounds from ads!
I am about to delete it because I cannot click on a notification out in public without the music playing from an ad. There does not seem to be a way to mute it, and I am not going to risk opening it up and disturbing those around me. Also, the look of it is not very aesthetically pleasing.
Love it so much and so helpful
Ok so I thought this was a scam but it is real I love it I am in elementary school and this app is so helpful
Loved until the latest update
I don’t want my data farmed just to check local news and weather. I’ve deleted the app, but I will miss it. Genuinely disappointed with this. I expected more from my now former local news outlet. I love Ch 5, but this definitely turned me off from them.
Links
Teaser link rarely opens up the page to the article.
Good App, but…
Overall it’s a great app, however, I don’t like the fact that the video starts playing as soon as I open the article. The user should have control of this action.
Very Informative
Great to receive such good information when you can’t get out and about.
Changing home
Changing home doesn’t stay updated.
Stupid
How yall gonna play darn near 5 minutes of ads during a severe weather broadcast. I'm trying to see if my house is gonna catch fire and it goes to a ad break? Brilliant.
my safety.
I appreciate so much since I am 89 years old and live alone receiving this help from you
Far-Right Fear Mongers
Not only do they abuse their push notification privileges by sending constant notifications that are not breaking news, but KOCO uses divisive and fear-mongering sensationalist news titles. Been a KOCO fan for 37 years but it’s clear who they bow to. Gross.
Meh
This app crashes a lot when I’m reading an article or trying to share it. It also takes a while to populate new news stories. I’m talking a couple of days at times.
App works, articles are incredibly moronic
I have no issues with the app, but the blatant ignorant bias spread across the app is a joke. These articles are written by third graders and replace statical facts analysis with mongering fabricated nonsense. It’s become unbearable over the past year. Pros - Weather Cons - Everything else
Bad reporting
Don’t report on real issues of the state and corruption
Impossible to read articles
Love for weather, but every time I click into an article, it takes me back to the home page. Super annoying because you can’t open it in a browser if you have the app downloaded
Great app
This is definitely a great news app. Definitely a great news at cause they have so many stuff that they have for me to stay safe or this gives me the weather, but the number one saying I just don’t like the ads you’re so many ads. I literally got nine ads please why are this five stars though it’s cause I definitely like this app and I love it also one more thing I still want this app cause it’s good. Also, I actually wanted to say it actually beats me aware of stuff so that’s nice. Well I love this app.
Too many
I have my notifications down to 4 categories, it’s all the time! I shut it off one other time…I’m about to do it again
Used to be great
1. There is a story about Christmas tree prices that has been on this app for a few years. 2. Lately, every article when opened will go back to the main page before there’s time to read the entire article.
Great!
Best in our city!
