Pretty cool app, but one problem…
I remember when I first had this downloaded and it’s not that big of a deal, but it was still a cool feature. That feature would be genie customization. It isn’t an available option anymore and makes the game a little less fun. Other than that, this is a pretty cool game.
Not worth it
Akinator as a game is fine but the only benefit of this VIP version is there are no ads on install. Just buy no ads on the free version.
Fun Game
It’s a fun game. It’s a little annoying though when you don’t get an award after you stump the Akinator. And it’s annoying when you get a message that you already “received an award” for someone you never ran through. Not sure why.
It’s a really really good
There’s no ad in it, but if you want ads, just get regular Akinator, it might seem frustrating to pay for it. In other people opinion but for me, it’s worth it.
Bad Update
Recent update removed cosmetics, and added animations. Cosmetics that you get by playing the game, and earning rewards. Animations that make playing slower now, having to wait for animations. Patch Notes state that you could just stay on the old version, but you can’t roll back. Once updated (auto-update apps are enabled for me) you’re screwed. Why did it have to be an update that was forced, and not an update that had a toggle button is settings? I should be able to use my cosmetics. Period. I should be able to turn on/off animations as needed.

Used to be Better, what happened?
Haven’t played for a couple years and got back to it. Found my whole game was reset, Akinator doesn’t have outfits anymore, and there’s lots of characters missing that used to be on the list. Nearly every main character and monster from kaijudo was for example, but now like 2 characters. Especially annoyed as I used to have quite a few blacks but now when I try every time the character I put doesn’t exist in the database (I get some were removed as you can’t do [C]orn stars anymore, even tho there’s a filter setting and lots of games get away with worse BS, but it’s beyond annoying and Akinator is so old I feel it won’t get updated to ever include)

App store guidelines?
Suddenly a ton of characters are no longer shown when the guess is made! It just says “Sorry, what I guess is not available due to the AppStore guidelines”. What is the point of having this VIP app if a bunch of the characters aren’t even available?
Can't guess obscure characters
Too many times I try to guess a character who isn't popular and has similar characteristics as more popular characters and it always guesses the wrong character no matter how many times I try. I've been trying to guess a character who would give me a black medal (the highest award) for the past half hour and it keeps guessing someone else then immediately getting it right at the 2nd guess but those don't count.

It’s a game I like to use as a test of my memory, so indirectly it’s super helpful for someone with not the greatest memory

Pretty good
The app is pretty fun. It is good at guessing characters, objects, movies, Tv shows and animals. It does ask some dumb questions but it is really hard to think of something it doesn’t know!
Buggy
whenever I disable the child filter i am still filtered, also the daily challenges are very buggy and sometimes a character has more than one guess so he will sometimes be thinking of (for example Mario) but every time he guesses Mario I don’t get the daily challenge.
Good, with an issue
It works great! In fact, I love Akinator. I use it a lot, and it’s fun! But, there’s one glaring issue: I can almost never log in to do the competitive parts of the game, and when I am able to log in, I’m logged out shortly thereafter

What the heck is happening
I just recently got akinator and it’s been fine for the past few days until now. Whenever I tried guessing an answer it worked fine but after it guesses and I hit “yes” whenever it ranks me it gives me the validation penalty or whatever it is. I am using no VPNs or even any auto guessers I’m just playing the game normally. But since it was something random like “tissues” and it was the first time I restarted it I guessed it was just bugging out. So when I restarted the second time I was trying to make it guess the MacBook Air, But when I got to the end it guessed a “Apple IPad Pro”, which wasn’t really a big deal and I was like “Ok, it got it wrong but might as well just accept it got it right because it will give me points anyway” so when I hit yes, instead of it giving me some bronze or standard award, IT GAVE ME THE PENALTY AGAIN. I’m not trying to be a Karen or anything, but THIS TIME it REMOVED MY POINTS, I was working hard to get in at least the top 20, which I HAD been at, and NOW this POOR FILTRATION made me drop down all the way too… 978! >:(((( If the devs won’t fix this, I will change it to a 1 star, instead of a 2 since I was trying to be nice. but if they DO fix this then I will give it a 5 star review and. So yeah for now it’s completely broken and I hope it gets fixed soon
Mind reading app
I love this app so much and It can literally read your mind. I think you should get this app if you want people to read your mind and if you get bored, it only cost four dollars a week or month. It kind of is a little bad, but I really like this app you should get it

Guessing waaay to early on characters with similar characteristics and it will only ever guess that character. super annoying when trying to get awards.
There are things that need to be added and fixed.
Okay so it is half decent most of the time. However: you need to add two new buttons; one that turns off repeat questions (i have been asked multiple times if the character i was guessing used a sword in the same wording in one run) and one that turns off similar questions if a similar question has been answered yes (for example the questions about hair color or eye color). I have lost so many gold, platinum and black trophies because atkinator asked the same question multiple times before giving up and guessing incorrectly. Secondly you need to fix the answer page because if I'm trying to guess a fictional character I should not be seeing more real people than fictional characters; like if im trying to guess Bobby the barbarian from the 90's dnd cartoon I should not see Bobby Mackey in the suggested answers.

Ok so The genie is about to guess a character right? Then when I mistakenly press yes for a “trap” that you guys put in, I have to do that character alllll over again 🙄🙄🙄 Like what’s the point of these traps they don’t do anything but annoy people so please remove that. I’m not a robot so like… why? “I set a validity trap” like what does that even do? What if you get a rare character only to have a “trap” set probably just because you keep getting rare characters. Like omg just stop.
Very good game
Pretty good game overall but has some minor issues like if I’m doing a character or one if the other categories he will sometimes say this content is not available on this app which is annoying when I try to play, also is this supposed to work offline cause it doesn’t I suggest adding a database he can use offline and add things to the database also can you add some more categories it’s kind of hard to do get him to guess a video game using the objects section which is the closest to video games I think.
Thinks I’m cheating. I’m not.
I’m 55 and have better things to do than try to cheat a children’s game. Am answering as sincerely as I know how (most recently re Thor) and it calls me a cheat and says it will punish me. In a game I’ve paid for? I’m not in the mood for abuse at the end of the day, no thank you. sometimes Thor is fit, recently he looked fat, how do you answer besides don’t know?
Doesn’t respect device volume level
Neat app. Fun to play with the parents. Two problems: 1. It’s full volume regardless of how you adjust your phone volume. I have to put the phone on vibrate to play it. 2. The fonts are too small and are of a style that’s too hard to read. App updated on 2024-10-28 with “bug fixes.” Volume control bug was not fixed.

Lots of technical errors
It freezes a lot and it gets me out in the middle on the game saying that an error occurred.
Suddenly stopped working
I love the game, but all of a sudden it has stopped working. It says network error no matter what I do. It won’t let me log in or play any of the game??

I love this app but every time I try to play it tells me what it guessed is against App Store guidelines and ITS LITERALLY NOT. Fix it. I was just trying to get it to guess chuck bass and he isn’t against AppStore guidelines.

A good game, with “game-breaking” issues
Whenever I play Akinator, the game also has “technical issues” forcing me to quit the “guessing session”. This is extremely frustrating as I cannot play the game. Whatever this is, it needs to be fixed ASAP. PS. This bug occurs whenever the genie is in the “frustrated” animation, maybe this has something to do with it?
Great idea, slow and buggy implementation
The pros are already listed elsewhere. This is a fun timekiller in theory. But on practice, it has very annoying problems: - Extremely frustrating lag times of up to 5-10 seconds between every question. - Random game crashes/timeouts. - Sometimes wrongly accuses you of cheating due to buggy algorithm. - Worst of all: Makes a wrong guess when there are still multiple viable answers left. There’s nothing more frustrating than missing out on a rare award because Akinator persistently makes the wrong guess, even though you answered every question correctly, rather than ask some additional questions until only one correct answer remains.

The ads are ruining it
This game used to be incredible, I’dve given its 5 stars but now every time you get something rare it wants you to watch an ad?! That’s so stupid. Just do ads that are across the bottom or top of the screen and don’t affect gameplay like many other games. It’s stupid I have to watch an ad because I’m good at the game.
