Apple Watch App Crashes Since Update
I have uninstalled app on phone and watch, rebooted both and reinstalled app. Now the app on my watch crashes immediately when opened. Please fix ASAP.
More options for scheduled charging
Great App and very useful! Would be great if more scheduling options to charge is available / can be added … power suppliers in many countries and locations offer more than one off peaks and the app allows one schedule only to charge
Latest app version is a degrade
The latest 7.2.0 version of the app has changed the format and contents of the trips journal. It now reports the journey duration as text and missing battery regeneration for the journey. These are important if analysing your driving to see driving style for battery optimising use and also excel export manages the duration as hh:mm:ss and not good for Volvo to change to text 00:01 h. This was working in July 2026 but latest app version of 20-Aug has changed it for the degrade in the features
It’s ok not great
The positives are the app is well designed and the features that are included mostly work. The app is still buggy when compared to our Tesla one and I have to reboot it from time to time. The charging has never worked for me and I just download all the 3rd party apps. Missing features like being able to open and close windows or open the trunk are hopefully coming down the road. Still love the EX90 but this app could be better.

I love this app. It does what I need it to and it’s not a trial followed by a monthly subscription. Beröm to Volvo.

Doesn’t work
This is such a poor app. It shows the car is locked when it isnt and I haven’t been able to trigger the climate at all since the last update so in this UK heatwave it’s been a disaster. I really don’t understand why it’s so hard?

Would like to be able to size the widget to wider than the standard square provided, and it could then show a picture and locked status etc…

There should never be a subscription fee
$200 for reading basic information from the car? That’s an insult to Volvo owners. Terrible decision. I ended up selling my volvo and will never be a Volvo owner anymore.
Good Start
The Volvo Cars App could be really special. Easy to use with the basic functionality to interface with the vehicle. However, I would really like the ability to schedule charging as electricity is much cheaper in the early morning. Also it would be nice to be able to keep the environmental fan on just to blow some outside temperature in.
The new update
The new update is not locking the car. It is now hard to find fuel level
I used to be able to add a note to the trip log
I used to be able to add a note to my trip log so I could document what the business trip was about. there’s still a place to put the note, but I can’t seem to save the note. I think this happened after the last update.

Thanks for the recent update - neat being able to select view. However scrolling left brings up a line drawing of the plan view. Can we have the rendering back please? Nice to see the alarm pixel remains. Thank you.
Apple Watch app crashes
Starting this past week. Apple Watch crashes always. Removed and reinstall the Apple Watch app and my iPhone app. Problem persists. It was nice to have the convenience of not needing my iPhone to unlock and drive my ex30. Please fix.
Modern UI with Room for Improvement
Overall, I like the new look and feel of the app. It feels much more modern and polished than the previous version. I do have a few suggestions that would make it even better: 1. Bring back the fuel level indicator. I can no longer see the fuel level in the gas tank. I remember this was available in older versions of the app, and it was especially useful for those of us who drive hybrid or gas-powered vehicles. 2. Expand the Gallery feature. The Gallery is a nice addition, but it would be even better if customers could upload a photo of their actual vehicle instead of only using the default images. 3. Improve lock/unlock status reliability. The lock/unlock notifications are still inconsistent. For example, I was having dinner at a friend’s house when the app notified me that my car was unlocked. I rushed outside to check, only to find that the car was already fully locked. Accurate vehicle status is critical for a feature like this. again, this is a solid redesign with a cleaner, more modern interface. Addressing these usability issues would make the experience significantly better.

Remote lock & start don’t work!
Remote Lock & Remote Start Don’t Work The remote lock and remote start features are extremely unreliable. The car is frequently shown as “offline,” which makes remote start unavailable. Even when the car is online, remote start still often doesn’t work. These are basic features that should work consistently, and unfortunately, they currently do not. I’ll revisit this review of the 7.2.0 update fixes things! App worked fine five years ago. BMW app remote start is flawless.
Smart Charging broke on update?
I’ve just realised that, at about the same time as the app was last updated, the “Departure at” time was removed, meaning that Smart Charging (through OVO) stopped working, and I’ve been charged full price for charges since then. I’m not 100% convinced, but as I haven’t changed this setting in quite a long time I suspect that it was reset by the update. I’d appreciate dev feedback on this… Other than that, I like the app, and find most of it pretty intuitive.
Getting worse
I want to know if I locked the car. The UI is terrible at communicating that. It says it’s unlocked and it says updated “now” even though the car is locked. Then you wait 30 seconds more and it tells you it is locked. If you didnt receive the correct information from the car, you shouldn’t display it as correct. Just say you are checking. Maybe mention when was the last contact with the car. Older versions were better.
Widgets broken
Latest version caused the car to lose communication with the app and also no longer allows widget to update. FaceID was a nice inclusion if that prevents having to login every week.
Works great even on older Sensus cars
Works great on my 2018 XC60 T6 R-Design, remote start is so useful, as well as other features like trips which let you price out your gas. Status menu is also great for if you forget to lock your car, or need to remotely unlock it for someone else. App does sign you out sometimes which can be a bit irritating but not difficult to sign in again. If I could make any changes it would be to add more IOS Widget options other than the range one, maybe a larger widget with an image of the car, like other competitors apps have.
This app is a joke compared to the Tesla one
I pay $200+ a year for an app says my car is running when it’s parked, it’s locked when it’s unlocked, and no other real features. We also have a Tesla and the Volvo app is such a joke. Don’t charge people for features that don’t work accurately.
Remote Window Function
An option to remotely roll up or roll down windows would be really helpful. I use that a lot for my Tesla
So expensive
$200, $300 for this app when we’ve already paid $50k+ for the car itself? While I’ve gotten some valuable use from the app, the benefits of it were never worth the cost, so once the free three years was up, I just stopped using it altogether. It honestly shouldn’t cost drivers anything, but make it $50/year and at least at that point it’s not laughable.
Missing Polestar Engineered Badging from image in App
I’ve reported that the Polestar Engineered Badging that was appeared in previous versions of the App, now continues to be missing from current versions of the improved App - why is this?

Great app but why has the ‘Save’ button been removed when entering a note for a trip. Very annoying.
Missing basic features
The app should be so much better, and include super helpful features such as allowing to change the climate temperature remotely (like Tesla, BYD, etc) for preconditioning. But what have Volvo devs been working on? Playing around with massive fonts no one asked for and adding pointless junk like the gallery 🤷♂️ As a suggestion Volvo, maybe liaise and listen to your user base and as a minimum implement capabilities and features that your competitors offer.
Wipe out
July update 2026 has wiped my journal and won’t let me save a description of where I’ve been, the box opens ok but there’s no save option, Further investigating reveals that my destinations are still there but you now have to select 2 date points to see them, the tagging issue I’ve sort of worked out, instead of a save icon there is a blue dot on the map, you have to scroll the page then zoom the map and hold the blue icon then exit the page and your description saves mostly, how 2 bury functions and not explain what you’ve changed.
Ideal Car App
First time Volvo owner and therefore first time Volvo app user. I find this app very user friendly and helpful. Design of app is simplistic but well designed with relevant functions and attention to detail. Very minor but a cool little detail is adding an image of the exact trim model of your even down to wheel design. I love that!
New software is unsafe to use and over-designed
It is over-designed and feels less safe since there is so much on the screen. Plus it glitches frequently and I have to reboot the screen. It is seriously making me consider purchasing another Volvo in the future. Wish I could go back to an earlier version
Maps
Nice app, but why does it show Apple Maps when the car has Google Maps which I use every day?
Why oh why ?
Volvo, what are you doing? Each iteration of this app gets worse, information that used to be there is gone and it appears less reliable than older versions. Why do developers have to keep changing good things and make them worse. I’ve used the app for nearly 10 years and nothing has been added that makes me think wow, but many features have been removed that make shout WHY .
Scheduled charging
I like the app but not having scheduled charging for plug in hybrids is a big miss. I have to remember to plug it in past 9pm so I don’t pay the higher charge rate which is 4X higher during daytime hours when you are on a time of day plan. Every other plug-in hybrid I have has had this ability.

Works almost always and when it doesn’t I just restart my phone 😄
What are you talking about?
It would be very nice as actually it should be part of Volvo service to explain what these things are that we have a choice to add or not. It seems like all Volvo is interested in is to sell you a car and get you out of the showroom. But not explain anything about the car that’s ridiculous. as much as I like the car, this will be my last Volvo.
Save function missing
Post recent app software update the “save” button no longer appears when adding notes to trips
App stopped working
Not sure what happened but the app now just leads to an error page when I try to login. And, overall not too many useful features in the app. For example, the last app update added photos of the vehicle. Literally an exterior photo gallery. Not sure why that was needed.
Text Size
Recent update the app seems working incorrectly, but it only looks like it by the sudden change in font size that’s now bigger than my coffee table. Everything seems so ill fitting now… please revert, or make it an option in the setting to set desired font size. Thank you.

$200 for What??
My free version ended and now it’s time to pay $200 for the year. The only feature I was getting was start/stop and locking. I see others have climate and window functionality. Where was that on my app??

The older version was excellent whilst the updated version is not what it seems. The tire section is not new and doesn’t work, it did!!
Making progress I guess
Takes awhile to actually connect to the car and then start to be able to send commands. Instead of doing app rewrites to make the picture of the car bigger, I’d prefer Volvo implement Cabin Overheat protection-like feature to hold the car temp at or below 90 degrees F when parked. Focus on utility instead of making it pretty. I hope this solves under the hood things so Volvo can improve functionality. I appreciate that it’s pretty, but give me the ability to heat or cool the car RAPIDLY instead of just setting a temp. If I’m not in the car, the car should run HVAC at full blast to achieve the desired temperature as fast as possible when commanded to turn on.
Why is everything so big
App ha definitely improved in the last couple of updates. UI looks cleaner. However, after the last update, the font / icons look HUGE. Like they were made for Mr. Magoo. I thought I had accidentally tapped an accessibility setting.
